Why did you have to make step Five be Pet Battles? You ruined getting the mount for a lot of people. Why would you include a step that several people have no interest in doing or just hate? I know I’m not alone when it comes to not liking pet battles.

Seems a bit hyperbolic.
While I haven’t tried this particular battle yet, they’re usually fairly straightforward. There will be plenty of guides to follow (if they aren’t out already). Because there is a lot of RNG involved, it may take a few tries to succeed. But that doesn’t make it “unobtainable.”
(I’m just waiting for one of the steps to require PvP–then I’ll be the one complaining.)

Step Five to getting the Green Fel Cycle is having three level 25 pets to do battle. To top it off the three are one’s that most people will not have unless your into doing pet battles.

Well, they’re actually secret pets, so they’re more for folks who are into doing the secrets. And while there seems to be three optimal ones, there are others one can use.

Yes. I linked a Wowhead article that explains which pets and how to obtain them.
But that is stepping out of a comfort zone to also having to level those pets and do pet battling.
If I wanted to do pet battling, I would’ve gone and played Pokemon.

I use the leveling stones most of the time. But it’s usually not too hard to level if you put the leveling pet in a team of 25’s. Let it do one hit, and then finish the battle with the 25’s. The leveling pet will get a ton of xp.
They did the same thing with the guest relations questline that requires you to spend a stupid amount on the AH or spend hours grinding for items.

Worse you’re only allowed to use a limited list of certain pets you then gotta level to 25 to maybe stand a chance and they’re all behind long quest chains or locked behind some requirement like one requires a Dracthyr Evoker at 70 and that they’re augmentation according to WoWhead. I had hopes the chain to get that mount would be like the prior secrets chain…weird but kinda fun then they added this BS pet battle crap…

I thought I had all the secret pets, but the first one in the guide turned out to be one I had never heard of. But, a small detour back to the dragon isles and +1 to the collection.
I had the “if this happens, you’re probably doomed” RNG outcome happen in the fight, but managed to work around it and still win on my first attempt.
Stuck on orb six though - not sure what I’m doing wrong, but I can’t get any of the spirits to react to me. Calling it a night.

Just so long as y’all understand what wow has become over the years.
