Hey he posted right under my last post! My voice has been heard on high!!! The cries of the persecuted are heard!!
This. It’s affecting EVERYTHING. Basically, it’s like the “spell batching” system (Which shouldn’t exist, delayed packet bursting is a method to compensate for bad 2004 internet, it’s 2019 now and entirely unneeded) is batching absolutely all packets, and therefore actions, in the game leading to what feels like an invisible 250ms latency on everything server side. Meaning you don’t get visible latency while casting a spell, but the server registers it like there is. Combat dropping, all abilities (I have 35ms latency on Pagle, but all my abilities on my Rogue feel more delayed than my old 180ms retail server back in the day), transitions between indoor and outdoor, interrupts, etc.
It’s making Classic feel like absolute trash, when I went back and played Retail a couple days ago the first thing I noticed was every single thing, from abilities to going between indoor/outdoor, felt WAY more responsive, and that’s despite the fact that on retail I play a West coast server that has twice the latency of my East coast Classic server.
Yeah I think there’s something up with spell batching causing a lot of this too honestly. I don’t think it’s working like it did in vanilla. Blizz said that the way it feels now should be how it felt for a player with a good connection back in vanilla but I had good internet in vanilla and never had half the issues I’m having now. Things never felt this delayed even though I usually had like 20-30ms latency back then. My latency these days is like 15 ms… not a big difference at all yet so many things feel like theres a 1-2 second delay on it now, when I never felt that in vanilla.
Additionally, before Classic I played on several p servers that were based in Europe, and even with the 200ms latency I had connecting to those servers, there wasn’t a huge delay like there is in Classic.
I don’t know what’s going on with Classic but something just isn’t right.
As long as this is fixed before phase 2 I think most hunters will be happy. Thank you for the response, we just want to know that we are being heard.
LOL Vanish didn’t really work as intended until TBC I believe…maybe even late TBC.
That one was a very persistent bug in Vanilla throughout the entire 2 years of it’s existence. I remember many many rogues that were upset about that for the longest time…my mother in law had a bf at the time who mained one
Thanks for the response blizzard.
Seems like a good place to ask about mages and polymorph. I -thought- polymorph was supposed to drop combat for the target. Am I mistaken? As it is right now you can poly a mob (1v1) and not drop combat. Am I crazy? Or is polymorph supposed to drop combat allowing the mage to eat/drink after 5 seconds?
One hunter blue response and these other classes in here asking about their class.
Yeah that happens any time there’s a blue post lol. A bunch of people try to bandwagon onto the thread to get a blue answer. Doesn’t really work that way though as Blues will typically address the topic of the thread. It’d be more productive for them to post in a thread about the issue they’re having.
Also, @sphink, if you read this. Polymorph does not drop combat for the target nor does it drop combat for the caster. It’s not supposed to. If you’re in combat with a mob, you’ll stay in combat the whole time. If you’re in a pvp, then it follows the rules of combat in pvp so combat should drop about 5 seconds after you poly a target as long as you don’t use any other abilities on another target.
100%
There are reactions, there are interactions with abilities, that going from a pserver in EU, it actually feels WORSE at 45 ping West Coast on Bigglesworth.
My son is playing Rogue, and I played Rogue on pserver, and I can tell you right now, I would not play it on Classic, because its simply so poorly reactive to our inputs.
On my Shaman, I am stopped, I know I am, and I still get ‘Cannot Cast that while moving’.
The whole implementation needs to be looked at. If its batching, well then tighten it up, because right now, we are all playing at 200ms and it feels like garbage.
just get rid of the stupid batching
Thank you. It is irritating having a bug that afflicts one of your favorite classes, but it is reassuring to hear that the reports haven’t gone unnoticed. I hope that the root of the bugs can be found and solved by phase 2 for some awesome wpvp!
Had a mage sheep me the other day and sit down to drink. Havent srmtarted my mage tet so dont know those issues. But the mage was able to drink while i was poly’d.
It’s too bad you didn’t decide to invite players to the beta that actually played this game 15 years ago instead of those brain dead streamers that only played on private servers.
And, you still don’t have any fixes or an ETA on when you might. 15 years and you have not changed one bit.
how is my post about fd trap a “good place” to ask about mages
It seems its working pretty reliably now in PVE and PVP. You can go petfollow - Feign Death - Freezing Trap, with the only hook ups being you can’t rightclick during or after Feign Death, and there is a short delay before Freezing Trap is castable.
Was anything changed or is this how it was?
The official response FINALLY received is definitely appreciated but… I am unsubscribing until this is fixed (multi-billion dollar company so I know you don’t care but wanted to air it out anyways). I have been a loyal subscriber since 2005/2006 so going on almost 15 years now (whether I was actively playing or not). Maybe if a mainstream, streamer was maining a hunter, this would have garnished more attention sooner. Seeing as that appears to be the majority that was taken into consideration and invited to participate in the initial testing phases.
Not only were many of us separated from people we wanted to play with on launch day due to oversight, this bug, along with the other hunter class hitches currently present, have made the game unenjoyable for me. As someone (and I am sure I am not alone) who looked forward to maining a hunter in the official re-release of classic wow, this has been a frustrating experience altogether to say the least. I would rather take my time and money elsewhere in the meantime.
My only hope is that by the time bg’s and the ranking system are released that the hunter class will be functioning properly or maybe my WoW tenure has just run its course and it is time to move on.
So basically it only takes 350 posts and massive outrage to get a response for a very game breaking and obvious bug, and half the post is spent basically telling hunters to learn to play
Post on the druid bug thread, we only need 300 more replies to get a response on the 30+ bugs with the class boys
Blizzard should just change their name to Apple Inc.
I would straight up quit my job on the spot if I was a CM and my boss told me to write that lmfao
We have a winner boys. And I’m not even a hunter
unsubbed
Oof. I hope we’re not screwed over forever given the state of things. Warriors saw a fix in less than a day, what’s our ETA?
You made a post 19 mins ago saying you were going to unsub from the game because of this, BEFORE you actually did any research in the bug report forum.
