Feedback - Stress Test

Slightly crowded - not bad for launch day (Tauren area). Mob respawns a little slow but not too much.

Began to be sporadically laggy around 7:00 pm eastern - was kicked off server with no notice I saw around 7:18 pm eastern.

I was having the same issue, bag looting lag etc.

Well, I was behind you in the pack on Realm 4. I was still at level 2, Dwarven starting area was populated, but not particularly crowded, moving through things speedily enough. Server gets taken offline, retreat to closed beta for a few minutes, log into Stress Test again, on Server 3, find several players camped across most of the spots/areas where my starter quests were at, so knowing it’s a drop quest, where grouping doesn’t help much, I logged out.

Went to Server 15, see essentially the same thing. So I go exploring looking for other options for leveling. Ultimately shifting to Northshire which was even worse, unsurprisingly. Did discover that Stormwind had some level 1 quests I could do for some xp, but didn’t find much in the way of leveling options for my level 2 warlock to continue leveling as level 5 and 6 mobs could eat my face. I could have grouped and possibly ground mobs until sufficiently leveled to get the non-starting area quests but didn’t feel like it, so I simply logged out of the stress test.

On launch I’ll likely pursue trying to form a 2+ person party and simply moving to an adjoining area and farming mobs for kill xp, and not bother with any class that has a kill quest in the starter zone for an ability unlock. With the kind of threshold I saw on realms 3 and 15, the starting areas are best avoided like the plague, grouped or not.

So, it’s 4:32 PST and still can’t get in. Tried to log in both open realms (3 ad 15) multiple times and cannot get in. Maybe time to open another realm (RP)?

Well everything was perfect when the others realms where up felt like a lot of people but wasn’t fighting for scraps. moved to pvp 15 by force and was way to crowed and completely pointless to even try and level anything unless you maybe if you started their. If launch is like that on realm 15 probably wont play for awhile until it calms down but if it was like realm 12 i be playing day 1

I logged onto Classic Realm 2 about 2-3 hours ago, created my character then the system announcement showed the realm was being shut down due to lack of sufficient players for a stress test.

I had picked up two quests by that time, only to be bumped from the server because of the shut down.

Obviously I cannot answer your questions since I never was able to experience anything, let alone get past the first zone to the second.

Suggestion: Next time you have a stress test, at least post how much time is left on the log in screen before shutting the server down. That way folks know whether or not it is worth their while to actually log in and participate.

Very disappointed in this.

After my original server got shut off, i tried the new server and stop playing cause it was taking so long to get only my second quest done.

I am trying to level on Classic Realm 15. The starting area seems to not reduce the number of players. With non-dynamic re-spawn rates, the ability to quest has diminished. I feel as if there are “too many” players in one spot. I even took a break hoping the player numbers would thin out as others progressed to different areas and I find it lacking. There is already toxic behavior starting to form as other players fight over that one boar spawn.
I changed to Classic Realm 3 and it is much much better in terms of population. Spawns look great and questing appears much more fluid. I don’t feel overcrowded and I feel as if I’m not alone.

I can’t even log-in. My “Play” button is entirely greyed out, and on mousing over it it says “You can’t play World of Warcraft Classic yet.”

Realm 13, 4:38

Lag is gone, realm was restarted about 10 minutes ago. Now getting mostly loot errors

I logged in and created my character a few minutes before the severs came online. This experience was much better than the previous stress tests. Feedback on the other questions for the two realms I played on is as follows (both realms I was Tauren):

Realm 4:

  1. Number of players was good for getting quests done but did feel a little quiet for launch day.

  2. Server was down so didn’t get to the next area.

Realm 3:

  1. Starter zone felt a lot more like launch day but the mob respawn was a little slow. Spent a lot of time waiting for mobs to spawn zone wide so I couldn’t even just kill stuff for XP. About 3:30 pm server started to lag really badly and it was taking a minute or so to turn in quests, sell at vendor, or move items around my bags.

  2. Mulgore and Bloodhoof Village felt about right population wise when I got there. Haven’t done much though as the lag was really bad getting quests so I logged off.

World 3 was busy, but fun nonetheless. Instead of focusing on a mob I went exploring, had a gnome trade me some grey items useful to my class. 10/10

Realm 15: WAY TOO CROWDED. I started playing the moment the Realms came online. I saw the layering happening. People and creatures would just fade away right before your eyes. I logged out after I hit lvl 4. It was too frustrating…I was even grouped.

Started out on realm 12 got to level 4 or 5 I think was good maybe could have used slightly more people but then realm was shut down. After that realm 3 I think was way too populated you would be lucky to get the starting zone quests done in a timely manner. Would prefer much closer to starting realm 12 where I ran into people but was not hindered greatly from completing quests.

Lag was fine until like others have mentioned a hour in you could do anything besides move and combat with out a huge delay it was fixed about 10-15 minutes after.

In order to ‘play’ the game, I started over with an instant spell class, hunter. Waiting for windup spells to go off, then reach the target, but, just a nano-second before it hits, hunter hits it with arrow. :frowning:

I decided on Realm 3. Dwarf priest.

Was inside, doing the first wolf Quest as the first player among 4 others, after 4 wolf meat I was already at the boars, then I combined waiting for wolf spawns doing some boars.

It was O K. Not too manny people not to litle.

Inside the troll cave for the Named mob, I grouped up with a mage after another group of 2 killed it and waited a bit for it to respawn while killing some other trolls around, it went very smooth.

At lvl 5 I left the starting zone and not long after did we get the lag fest, had some troubles there, but I got through it.

Around lvl 7 I did the troll cave, solo’d the Q and after going in teh cave met up with 3 others and grouped with 1 other to kill some lvl 8-10 trolls inside.

It felt really smooth once out of the starting zone.

Almost lvl 9 !

On realm 3. Beginning area crowded but fun. Severe loot lag and vendor lag then the realm disconnected and much better after. However, I completed quests and when i went to turn them in the quest log was not showing “Complete” even though they were.

So, after the forced rerole, I’m on server 15, I’m just spent 20 minutes (by my buff) attempting to kill spiders for the venom. The 20 minutes were for the last 3 of the 10 drops. If I weren’t trying to get good data for the stress test, I would have already logged off in frustration. If I manage to succeed in getting to level 5, I’m going to take up fishing for the lower competition (because you don’t compete while fishing). This is nuts.

Edit: time added it is now 4:50 pacific. So 4:30 to 4;50 I managed to get 15ish spider kills in the cave in a group of 5.

I got right in and chose a PVE realm, because that is what I will be playing in Classic, only to get my toon to level 3 and be promptly kicked off my realm forcing me to log on to the only 2 available realms which were both pvp. Both these realm were very crowded, even with joining groups it was very long in between completing quests. Most ppls ran around BSing cuz nothing not even a lowly snake or bunny was around to kill.
I just didn’t like being able to choose a realm of my choice only to be kicked minutes into the test and be forced to playing on a pvp realm. Why offer us choices if we cant play on them?!

Logod onto Server 4 originally, was decently populated. Had no problem tagging stuff. I would say it’s a good 20ish people running around.

Now on Server 3, a bit overpopulated. It’s a lot more difficult to get tags. Everything’s dead and people are waiting for spawns. I think a layer somewhere inbetween this would be good imo.
