logged on realm 12 just after 4pm, on human starting area. played for about 30 min or so and realm shut down. quite a few people there but mobs were spawning pretty fast. looting wasnt too bad didnt really struggle to get all of the quest items as much. was only level 2 so didnt make it past that area
I was on 5 got my name and it closed, went to open realms both where over crowded could not complete quest.Big hurry and wait.Know just trying to complete quest and lagging and not enough to kill
Started on CR13, seemed okay only a little crowded. Checked CR2, had fewer people so was easier to get tags and kill mobs. Then the servers were taken down and I have tried both CR3 and CR15, the lag on both is ridiculous.
When it takes over a minute to loot (if you move you seem to desync a bit, mobs stop moving, players running in place… then it all fast forwards when you finish looting) or 3 minutes (timed it) to sell to a vendor… it’s unplayable. There are literally 10-15 players per spawn point. So if sharding is enabled it’s not doing it’s job, or not doing it correctly.
All of this with under 15ms on the lagmeter.
Honestly, it felt super empty at first. When everyone moved to the two remaining servers it felt decent (close to how it felt when a new patch dropped in the old days) but to be honest I would rather have it be pure chaos with people everywhere… Its just more fun that way. We want an open world feel not a shrinking/expanding bubble.
This was my experience during the first 2 hours.
I initially played on realm 5 but this was shut down early on in order to focus population. I had to compete with other night elves but it felt good for a launch day experience.
The second realm I played on was Realm 3 as a human after the other realms where shut down. Logging onto the server was slow but once I made it to the character select screen it was fast. I found there were too many other players to compete with to enjoy leveling. I eventually logged out after 2 hours. If i logged onto a similar experience on launch day Id just wait for 3 days before playing. This experience improved infinitesimally in the second zone. There was some lag with npcs with looting talking or selling as well as lag when crafting but that felt alright for a launch day,
I played from 5:00-5:30 PM and it was very smooth on the high pop server(realm 15?). The amount of players in the area was fine.
I never got to the second zone.
Logged in and created characters smoothly on PvP 3 and 15. Such a good feeling upon getting in. Makes me happy. Can’t wait for the real deal!
Pretty sure I DC’d on realm 3 unless afk out is super quick. Reconnecting took a while. Slow logging into server too.
Starting areas were crowded, but not unexpectedly so. Next areas seem fairly empty, although I did run to the cities before returning… so IDK.
Currently lotsa lag on realm 3 when looting, vendoring, turning in quests, casting.
Edit: Just DC’d on PvP 3 (about 2 hours and 15 minutes after test started).
Server 3: Mulgore
Lag/Mob density is much better
Too many people… Cant even get a boar or cat D:
4:10pm PDT, gave it one last try, realm 15, entire Gnome starting area is full, nothing to kill. Moved to Dun Morogh proper, everything around Kharanos was dead. Tried a level 6 Wendigo, the only thing I could find alive, resisted all spells and I died. I give up. See you tomorrow. Server stability great, inability to actually play is the problem. WAY too crowded.

- A quest window does not appear.
- Use /reload

Things that are working as intended
- Checked that UI could be scaled.
- Check and uncheck autoloot, left click, other options, etc.
- Tried to open every interface panel which seemed to work.
- Adjusted graphical settings from 0-10 with no issues.
- Moved chat around, changed chat background color, set map to move around arrow.
- Moved player and target UI frames.
- Changed key bindings, key binding text changed as intended on action bars.
- Dragging spells worked as intended.
- Combat worked as intended with no noticeable lag, or clownyness to tag before someone else.
Overall Experience in Starting Zone
Gameplay mostly revolves around repeatedly tabbing, and waiting for mobs to spawn, hoping for a tag. LFG and LFM in general chat to increase odds. Spawn rates too low for amount of players in undead and orc starting zones.
After about an hour and a half, starts to clear up a bit. Still a struggle to tag mobs, people still forced to sit and wait for spawns. Combat working as intended in all cases. No lag detected.
General chat still readable, although spam is an issue.
Moved to realm 3, NE starting area, after all the others went down. Server stable, far too many people, all mobs constantly dead, can’t complete a quest.
Omw to bloodhoof Village. Spawn timers seem to be cranked up and way less people around me on #3 now.
Watched Chief Sharptusk respawn in about 25 secs. The other mobs in the cave seemed to have increased spawn timers too.
I’m going fishing. Lol
Logged back in to one of the remaining servers (pvp 3) after server 2 was shut down.
I got in and had an character creation error upon completion of making my toon and then it went away. When I tried to log in, it came up again, then went away. When I tried to log in again, after pushing the button several times, it appeared to be trying to log me in.
I sat for a very long time, at the loading screen, which showed the bar as mostly complete, but not moving…for a very long time.
When I logged out and back in, it took me to the server 3 character screen, which showed no toons. I clicked on the delete character button and the toon I had just created appeared.
Tried to enter again and once again am stuck at the loading screen with the bar nearly filled but apparently stuck.
After waiting for a pretty long time, I decided to try to log into the other remaining pvp server when suddenly the character screen came up saying the there was already a toon with that name, but offered me no option to change it.
So, I decided to delete the toon, since there was no other option for continuing.
This took a VERY long time before it finally deleted to allow me to try again.
Created a new toon and altered the name and hit the Accept button…once…twice.
Then I was back at the character screen with my original toon and name still showing as it tried to bring up the character list. The toon I had just created was not there and the screen said that the original name was not available…again.
The toon name was in the list, but no toon was showing on the screen (picture) and the option to delete is now greyed out.
Really not sure what to do now.
My only option was to hit the back button, try to log in again and see what happens.
Logged back in and now there are no toons showing on server 3.
I would try again to create a toon, but there are no buttons, no creation options.
OK…having just typed this, my 2nd toon created has suddenly popped up.
I will now try again to log in.
I am now stuck, once again, at the loading screen. Bar is nearly full, but not moving.
I waited a full 4 minutes this time with no progress.
Closed game and am relogging…again.
Deleting toon again and then will try to change to the only other server that is online.
The character deletion shows as “failed” by the way.
Trying now to get into pvp server 15.
At character creation screen.
New toon, new name.
The loading bar actually completed, so I am going to stop here, for now and try to actually play, even though I am not happy about being stuck on a pvp server. If it helps make the game better, I will die for Elune…probably many times if the situation arises
Well, was just setting up, again, my options, etc and was disconnected.
Logged back in. Took a long time for it to get past “logging into server”.
Trying again.
Server 3: Mulgore
Feels great
Realm 3, 6:17pm. DC’d
Logged into Realm 15 around 8am Aust. EST. Log on was easy, no issues at all. It was already pretty crowded when I logged on. Took over an hour to manage to complete 2 quests. The ratio of players to respawn was just too high. Literally nothing to kill at any given time.
- Yes it was too crowded, even for a launch experience.
- Felt like it had evened out once I walked out of the starting zone and into the next questing area.
This was called by the server. There was warning.
I think it’s a little funny that the server (Classic Realm 15) that the streamers all seem to be playing on survived this wipe no problem
