Feedback - Stress Test

Realm #12

The starter zone was populated enough, but the second zone was a ghost town.

Started off in Mulgore (Tauren), and there were plenty of other players around. But once I got to The Barrens, there was almost nobody. Did a /who for level 8-15, and there was a grand total of 20 people in the entire zone, despite the realm saying it was “medium” population.

was on realm 15 in mulgore felt just about right. Always had players around but wasn’t so crowded it kept me from doing stuff.

I just want over populated layers. Just enough of a pop to challenge for quest mobs ect throughout several zones until you pass that annoying stage.
For those who are anti layering you obviously never played with a queue. Enjoy a DC and being back in the queue and then having to buy a new keyboard as you’ve smashed anyway its not great.

Realm 15 from 5 to 9 human start area it ran smooth crashed only in the first few minits it was supper crowded 2 houers to get wolf pelts
Most quests took at least a houer or moor even in groups part of the fun smoothest stress test yet

Realm #15 . Undead Mage

Logged in @ 6pm EST without any problems and experienced only 2 server resets. I personally did not have any lag in any of the zones.

Starting Zone was PACKED which made tagging quest mobs very tough. Grouping with others helped with kill quests but was better to risk the solo play for collection quests. To be honest, it was absolutely AMAZING!! The server was alive and just seeing the toxic general chat going crazy was awesome!! I had not this much activity, interaction and challenges in years with WoW.

I did manage to level high enough to leave the starting area and venture into Tirisfal Glades. Again, tagging mobs proved challenging but manageable if you were patient and willing to work with others to complete the quests. The only realm issues I found with scripting were random demon hounds spawning underground and weird spell pathing, i.e. fireball through a cliff face. I also found 2 Baron Longshore’s at 2 different camps a the same time along the Merchant Coast (outside Ratchet).

Testing the level 15 meta for mages in WSG was crazy fun. I can not wait for full release!

Starting area was a bit crowded. Very hard to complete any quests due to so many people killing the same mobs. 15-20 minutes on a starting area quest is a bit much. I did have some minor lag issues, although that could have been on my end. As expected, chat was a bit toxic, but ignore feature is working as intended. Overall it was a fun experience.

All of these notes are about human characters.

Early testing on the first day after the reset and removal of most of the realms I was active on 15. The initial zones and the various mines felt like locust had blown through, attempting to get a kill of anything for any quest was quite annoying, but not impossible. Getting ahead of the pack was important.

Around 9:30 Central time Wednesday (I believe that is 7:30 Pacific) I moved to classic realm 2. The lack of mobs seemed more intense and we decided to move out of northshire and kill random mobs in a group due to the lack of mobs in the intro area. Again the mines (northshire and the following two) were basically empty of any kobolds to kill.

Thursday morning I made a new character on classic realm 2 around 8am pst. The mines continued to lack in goblins but the over all feel was much more acceptable throughout the day of play, very little issue with picking up mobs for quests, plenty of things around to kill/grind. especially after northshire. The gnoll packs around hogger were the most empty and took more time to wait on spawns.

Friday morning again around 8am pst, continuing to play on classic realm 2 I notice no problems with mob density in westfall, and encounter players regularly walking around but never had mob conflicts. It feels a bit empty, compared to previous days, but I assume the overall population is down.

Servers all seemed very stable throughout the test, but I assume you guys could see that on your end.

Happy to give more detailed feedback like this, just give me a real beta invite and point to what you want.

Hope the info all helps, have a good one.

Played on server 3 again today - on and off from about 6pm - 3am Sydney Time - Did skull rock, a few trips to orgrimmar, shaman fire quest and the Disrupt the attacks in Barrens.

I ran into almost all possible rare spawns, every chest was there when I get there, and saw VERY few people. Felt like a dead game, almost no one playing - even in Orgrimmar. Still fun, but only because I love Classic and would play it single player =P

6/19 logged in at 6:00EST server 15 as a undead warlock.

Starting zone was extremely packed, but I was able to complete all quest but 1 mostly solo. If was every difficult to tag mobs but was able to move on to second zone.

Once in second zone it felt like the right amount of people and made it to LvL 9 after about 3hrs of game play.

Server 15 was really packed. Most people couldn’t even do the starting zone quests

Started on a server that was spot on (can’t remember the number, but it was one of the PVP ones you shut off, said medium pop when I logged around 4 mins before the official start time)… lots of people competing for mobs but the overall feel was good. There were enough people that it was a good idea to group up for kill quests, but not so much that you were aimlessly going around looking for something to kill. The server was shut off so I could not progress to the second zone but the amount of people felt just right.

I moved to realm 3 where I rolled an undead. The next two hours I spent running around looking for stuff to kill.
It was really hard to progress and pretty frustrating, but I decided to stick with it… Saw some interesting stuff I guess having to do with layering: a copule of times I saw multiple mobs spawn at the same time… also some players appearing with them. I’m guessing we were layered into an emptier layer, but the new mobs lasted all of 10 seconds as everybody was running around waiting for re-spawns. too crowded even for a launch day experience.
It was so crowded I really had no chance of making it out of deathknell questing so I made my way to Brill and decided to go exploring to undercity.

The reason the second area on feels empty is because people get sick of not being able to complete quests and give up and log out. :stuck_out_tongue:

I wont play this thing at launch if its going to be that crowded. Priests are annoying enough to level.

Its meant to be crowded. Instead of being a sheep, become a wolf and grind mobs to 5 and go to the next zone.

Logged on 2 hours in, day 1 to Classic Server 3 (PVP) - population was listed as “High” at that time)

Made NE Priest - busy starting zone, not horrible.
Second zone - busy enough to find people to quest with but not mandatory
Main NE city - Dead zone (5 hours in day one of test)

Day 2 - Classic Server 2 (PvE) - made Orc warlock. Way worse starting zone than day one (not sure if due to pvp vs pve or just horde vs alliance popularity. Never made it to second zone.

Anyway, thanks a lot - it was a treat to play. Good luck with the fixes.

Got on late to the party. Logged into Classic Realm 2 at around 1800PST as a human warrior, grinded out the first couple qusts pretty quickly but then i guess everyone jumped in from other servers that got shut down and the starting area became a huge clusterduck, every mob was tagged before i could get close, expectable with the increasing volume but manageable. Never had an issue with video or network lag so that was good. Gave up on trying to finish the quests at lvl 4 and moved on to greater elwynn forest

Maybe its just because leveling in retail was super sparce but i felt like after leaving northshire there were still plenty of people around, certainly enough to group up with to finish quests, but few enough that it wasnt too hard to find quest mobs to kill. Had to leave general chat. It was pretty much all complaints from the bottleneck in northshire.

Day 2 logged in around 1630PST in westfall was pretty crowded, but again, expectable when the cap goes to 15, wasnt really doing anything in a linear sense, killed any mob i could bouncing between quest objectives as mobs became available. Didnt get a chance to try out Dungeons or the pvp but i can’t wait!

I feel it’s pretty close to what I’ll be in for when classic launches in august.

Server #3

  1. It did feel a bit overpopulated in the started zone for gnomes.
  2. once leaving the starter zone it started to feel a bit more comfortable with the population thought it was much more manageable then starter zone. would like to see more people in capital citys tho.

What mobs? Theyre all dead.

Logged in around 5pm est only 2 pvp up i was on 3 i believe. Starting atea heavy not too much. I skipped a couple quest due to it. Same up to level 8 in 2nd area. Move to pve 13 when it opened. Very low pop Thursday

Your going to have to start paying me. Run to mobs that aren’t being touched. Starting zones are large. Many players (like yourself) consider questing the only route. It ain’t.

Realm 12 was fine at the starting zone allowed me to test a route with my 3 man group to get lv 4 and start brill questing. However the areas where people comonly grinded felt very barren. My group was at brill first so there might be that to take into affect as well but completing the scarlet insignia quest there was no one there either. I think there should be more people per layer
