Feedback: Same-Faction Battlegrounds Test

Legitimately a terrible change. Alliance still get instant queues in WSG, AB, EOTS and Alliance still lose every game because it’s never Alliance vs Alliance. Nothing has changed except the AV queue being multiplied by 30.

Another change that literally only benefits Horde. This shouldn’t surprise me though I guess.

The 5 man max queue is also terrible. Alliance only win if we can queue as a full premade. Shockingly, this change ALSO only benefits horde. This is an MMO, let us play with people we want to play with, not afk potatoes.

Same boat here, but also if the with the honor grind up for adjustment if they make it even worse instead of helping the issue I wouldnt even be queing AV anymore lol

This change is amazing and I fully support both the same-faction BGs and the 5-man premade limit. Battlegrounds are my favorite thing to do and I enjoy being able to hop on and play without waiting 30+ minutes. Previously, I would wait 30+ minutes and would often proceed to get completely destroyed by a full premade, which was never pleasant. It felt like a waste of time. That no longer happens and the games feel much closer. This change makes the honor grind feel more feasible and keeps me interested in the game.

Retail is the literal representation of WOW’s slippery slope. There is nothing speculative about it.

We’re directed here to post feedback, so that’s what ill do. As a alliance player, I personally dont mind this change. There was a massive problem for the horde with just being able to press their buttons and you guys addressed it.
The core of the problem has always been faction imbalance though and that damage has already been done and there’s no going back at this point. Personally I don’t care if there’s a majority horde but if were going to ever address the elephant in the room we should finally do it because you are making a huge change to PvP that benefit only one side, yes you threw a bone at the alliance with the little supply packs but no one really cares for those, theyre just ‘cute’.
In the spirit of Some-Changes and improvements to the game, why not give alliance Every man for himself. Before the horde freak out, right now horde have their more powerful racials. In Wrath, when humans do get Every man, horde racials at the same time are nerfed hard, yes your Orc no longer resist stuns, it just reduces stun duration, your Will of Forsaken no longer makes you immune, just removes it and i believe it shares CD with trinket.
So why not have OP racials vs OP racial? It might encourage alliance to press the PvP queue button more often and in the end isnt that what Blizzard wants? Is that not what the horde also want? Or will horde tears stop the alliance from finally getting a PvP change in their favor, so Blizzard shouldn’t even consider that type of change?
Being realistic though, i know Blizzard will probably never address this type of change with a yes or no or even a maybe, probably be met with a “its impossible” (when theyve legit made from scratch a world buff pokemon ball) or the most likely “it will have too many gameplay changes so we wont consider it”

Humans should get Will of the Forsaken, Dwarves should get Hardiness, hardiness nerfed for both factions to 5% or 10%, and free faction transfers from Horde to Alliance on high Horde population realms. Same faction BGs should be removed.

Nope, you are speculating that because they implemented a change you don’t like they are on a slippery slope.

Thats, uh, some rather large balance changes you are suggesting. I’d rather we not homogenize classic personally.

It would be much simpler to just do same faction Qs. Q times are not a racial/faction bonus.

Yes, let’s only help one faction. Good idea.

Glad I stopped playing this dumbed down version of WoW lmao.

Only one faction is having an issue with Q times due to imbalance issues and lack of things like mercenary mode yes?

This week me and the guildies finally did something that we hadn’t been able to do for a while - queue up and do some BGs. The small teams of 5 made it possible to do some casual PvP without the fear of getting blasted by a 10 or 15 man premades, or without the dreaded queue.

The change has been one of the best quality of life changes to the game - for players in horde, it felt like we were missing out on that entire side of the game. Playing PvP was inaccessible to the average working adult. The 45 minutes queues didn’t allow players to get the casual game in, nor the opportunity to try and do the daily PvP quest without what felt like a 2+ hour nightly commitment. The change made it so there was more to do in the game once than raid log. Changing it back would be a major letdown.

this helps both factions?? it balances the populations, the power of racials by a large degree, and the queue times of both factions.

Also I don’t expect racial balancing/ horde to ally transfers, this should have been tested in beta. As well as the tons of bugs still in the game 4 months later.

Let me get this straight…

Before:
Horde smash Alliance, but long Queue times.
Alliance get smashed, but short Queue times.

After:
Horde smash Alliance, now SHORT Queue times.
Alliance get smahed, but short queue times.

See how there’s a bigger problem? I do NOT approve of this band-aid fix, Blizzard. You can clearly do better for the community by fixing the real issue.
Solutions: FREE faction transfers for the high population faction to the inferior faction.
Fixing the Racial system, so it’s more fair in pvp encounters.

Don’t believe me? Look at the PvP servers and the PvP ladders, THEY’RE HORDE DOMINATED!

THIS CHANGE IS NOT HEALTHY FOR THE COMMUNITY! FIX THE REAL PROBLEM NOW BEFORE IT GETS WORSE!

This is awful. The honor rewards for BG’s is bad enough without this. Horde have literally every advantage - the one thing that kept some of them playing alliance (instead of literally everyone playing horde) was that they HAD to wait for BG’s to pop.

The only way this works is if we go full-bore change-mode and make alliance have competitive racials. I’m talking perception on a 1 min CD, drenai heals scaling with spell power, night elves get something useful, dwarves get + 100 resilience with stoneform, gnomes automatically punt themselves out of BG’s…

Don’t like that? Then put it back to how it was, and shut up.

That might be the most sensible, underrated fix idea I have ever seen.

Not sure if anyone knows this… but back in the day of actual TBC… There wasn’t 1 hour queue times for BG’s…

And a deciding factor of whether to pick Alliance wasn’t “Oh they get instant bg queue times and horde doesn’t”

You picked Alliance because you liked the look or Lore or even the racial and vice versa.
It’s mind boggling when I read that a reason to pick Ally is fast queue times. and Horde has long ones.

Battlegrounds are a FEATURE of the game, available to both factions of the game. They should be accessible to both factions of the game and not just one.
