I say implement MERC MODE. Solves sooooo many complaints people have
When we bring back same faction bg can we not have the weird masks or at least when I pop my deviate delight it removes it as I’m a human now anyway
This is prolly the worst idea Blizzard ever had.
The solution is to allow horde to switch to alliance, it’ll also fix the imbalance most of the servers are suffering.
Great, that just means we might fall or we might not. But do we really want to be too afraid of falling later down the road that we don’t fix real problems that actually exist in the now and are affecting the majority of the player base?
Just put in a checkbox for people who refuse to play against their own faction and they can sit in 30-45 minute queues while the rest of us just play with the people who actually want to play the game and not sit idle for 30-45 minutes.
Even if faction change becomes a thing there is no way enough people are going to switch over to being alliance just because BG queues take too long. Same faction BGs is the solution, let it rip so us that don’t have all the time of the world can actually play with our friends on Horde and actually run BGs and pvp with them.
It’s one of the main aspects of the game that I actually miss and I had a blast actually getting to play over the weekend with what little time I had.
#FixPvpRemoveRacials
with free faction changes
Once we can come to the mutual understanding that Horde racials are “better” (that is, they have more use-cases in PvP and PvE), and that there’s a fundamental imbalance at play here, we can discount some of the proposed options that some have suggested earlier in this thread.
- Removing/disabling racials: This won’t necessarily bring Horde and Alliance numbers in line. If tomorrow the racials magically vanished, what motivation would there be for Horde players to go Alliance, other than the fact that their queues are longer?
- Mercenary Mode: This is a different-colored band-aid in the same vein as Same-Faction queues. It only lets the majority faction have their cake and eat it too, while the minority faction’s population stagnates.
Since most of us can acknowledge that the advantage of the Horde racials is one of the driving factors behind the population disparity, it’s important that something is implemented to make the idea of playing Alliance more appealing not just for existing Horde players, but for new players. Additionally, knowing there’s an already-present level of imbalance to what separates the two factions, I suggest something radical to tip the scales back towards an equilibrium:
- Dual Spec for Alliance only - Such a tremendous quality of life update that would assuredly bump up the numbers of active Alliance players. Something like Dual Spec would retain the “time saving” aspect of being Alliance instead of Horde in the present, but shift it to an area other than PvP.
- Give 3.X’s Every Man for Himself to all Alliance players - A truly radical suggestion that would bring the perceived power rankings of the racials closer together. Note that Every Man being given to Alliance players would not affect those choosing Horde for PvE, since Horde racials in PvE are still quantifiably better than Alliance’s.
- Boost Rates of Rep gain/Honor gain - Something less powerful but nonetheless advantageous in terms of time spent.
Note that I think it’d be ideal only if same-faction queues are implemented permanently as well. I truly believe the implementation of any of these will be effective in raising the number of active Alliance players while retaining Horde loyalists (of which there are many).
It’s important that people don’t speak in hyperbole when trying to determine a solution or represent the state of things in game right now. No, Horde players, the game isn’t literally unplayable, and No, Alliance players, the faction isn’t going to die overnight. A lot of people are arguing in bad faith just to get what they want and threatening to unsub is the most toddler thing you can do in a time when the game needs honest, constructive feedback more than anything.
your joking some people will roll ally sure but it wont be enough for ques to be a reasonable time
Like i suggested, MERC MODE solves from anything getting worse. Then each player has their choice without adding in even more premades then there are as they did when hvh ran they skyrocketed.
Why isn’t it back yet?
the ones claiming to leave… are they the same ones that have ALREADY geared? if so, it’s no wonder they’re leaving; they’re already done until next season, but honestly, we all know they’re not going anywhere because they still have the advantage of being far more geared to curb-stomp the opposition. if they do leave, it’ll be when horde have caught up and they no longer have that time-gated advantage.
quit lying. no one’s believing your false threats.
i do agree with this. alliance should have no reason to face other alliance due to the numbers game. even if they make premades only face other premades, they can sit in queue longer until the next one’s ready to opt in.
y’all keep saying this, but how so? what facts are you basing this on? assumptions aren’t facts, they’re merely more opinions to influence the ignorant.
Then we’ll find another solution later on. #1 problem is server imbalance, which causes long BG queues.
they stretched the playing field a good ways from the horde starting cave to that hill we run up to get on the main road. the first time i played av since they put the change into effect, i honestly thought i somehow got turned around because the timing was so off, and we were only 1/2 way to that road.
don’t even get me started on how horde get ripped from the N & S bunkers before you even get to them compared to E & W. as someone who plays both sides, the difference is overwhelming.
They have to justify their pay while contemplating their navel. Kidding.
More likely that some analyst type worked overtime massaging the data to generate the report to send up to his supervisor who then needed to send it up the ladder to percolate through two additional layers of management before any decision could be made.
well according to some of your other faction members: playing the underdog, the “good guys”, alliance still having arguably the better pvp racials, the community, and my personal favorite that made me laugh- goldshire inn tables, lol.
as well it should. when a game’s 15yrs old and having played the original, i’d hope they would implement changes we’ve asked for over time- there’s usually a good reason people ask for those. playing the same, exact game as it was 15yrs ago first seems great and all… until that new game smell wears off.
it is now the weekend and i would like to play my video game please, give ME BACK the FAST QUEUES thank you
slippery slope’s azz. it’s called “cause & effect”. if you’re gonna try to sarcastically make fun of people, at least use the correct terminology.
