Faction v faction is excellent–instant queues. Literally do not post on these forums, but adding to say that I hope this change is kept.
You didn’t pick apart anything.
Simply saying “no” or that will make alliance “op” isn’t an argument.
Rewarding participation has been proven to work on live, possibly even work to well.
In BFA when they gave the underrepresented faction (The alliance at the time) a bonus to go out and world pvp the Alliance drove the horde out of world pvp almost entirely. I was Horde at the time and the significant increase in Alliance out in the world was massive.
This certainly fixes the Horde pvp queue problem, but is disasterous for the game overall. The faction imbalance is awful right now and the open world is cancer for Alliance on nearly every server. This change will only encourage more people to play Horde and create bigger issues in the game.
Or you know people with their 58 boost still that can just reroll at the drop of a hat to the superior in every way faction.
Haven’t been able to get into a BG without losing patience or something coming up do to long queues since release. Finally get to play the game.
This will not fix the core problem of factions being imbalanced and only make it worse.
This is not the intent of the fix. It’s fixing queues.
Imbalanced factions is a player made problem with solutions available to players.
So far all that has happened is that Alliance runs into Horde premades. It’s simple, Horde pugs get smashed by Horde premades, so more Horde players join premades, this leads to Alliance only running into premades. What Alliance can do is run premades themselves, but for a vast number of realms for Alliance this is not feasible, what you are left with is Alliance must pug instead of premade and lose every game.
9/10 of my BGs have been against premades and almost the entire team just AFKs because they know it’s impossible to win.
The queue times have been fixed for Horde and the games they’re playing are most likely a net win for them, but consequently it makes it much harder for Alliance to play. If there were enough players to do premades on the realms then sure, it’d be alright, but I am afraid what will happen is the mass transfers to PvP realms with a good Alliance population = even further lopsided populations on various realms.
10 BGs in today and each one was a full Horde premade LMAO yea great balance
how about contribute something useful to the discussion. anyone with at least one wrinkle in their brain knows this will negatively effect faction imbalance.
im down with making it no premades vs pugs
Bought my Horde Boostie Boy see you on the other side. Exactly what Blizzard wanted was to sell more boosts lmao
So this is clearly the best change blizzard has made in years, but ONE suggestion.
Turn of being able to read yells from the enemy team.
great change, keep it in the game!
I love the change but please do two things for casuals who like to PUG:
- Block cross-team communication
Too much toxicity.
- Impose deserter for dropping queue like rated BGs.
Five is fine, but 2 or 3 five-man premades is not in the spirit of the game and results in exploitive gameplay like GY or farm/stables honor farming.
Same faction premade vs. PUGs also makes it worse since the premades are often people on your server who talk sh#^ to you after the game.
Before this I had begrudgingly accepted the fact that I just wasn’t going to be able to BG at all in TBC Classic, at least not without an extremely high level of resentment. Now, I am incredibly excited to actually be able to hop in to a game or two with my guild and be able to experience the full scope of this game. Queues aren’t fun for anyone, no matter what color flag you choose to fly on your character screen, if the roles were reversed, I’d be up here in full support of allowing Alliance to enjoy this, what is afterall a… Video Game.
I’d be willing to bet we get some nerfed version of the human racial. Just cause horde will feel forced to faction change to the new meta and complain about it.
It’s been awesome so far. Some of the toughest games I’ve ever played too, real close games. anyone else notice that Horde win rates are at 100%! That was a joke. It’s been nice being able to actually do Battlegrounds, considering I was hitting 3-4 hr queues for a couple days.
For all the people saying they’ll unsub on other threads - i had stopped leveling when i learned Horde queue times were terrible. This is the reason I’ve remained subbed. Please keep the change.
I did spend 4 weeks leveling this character first instead of either of my 2 Horde characters specifically over Alliance faster queues in BGs. Got 3 days of some BGs in along with some world PvP in Halaa before I saw the announcement. During that time my Honor per Hour was still lower than some of my Horde buddies due to Alliance losing most of their PUG games. But I was having fun and was definitely getting in more games but no where near enough honor to buy more than 1 piece of gear (blue PvP trinket and that’s including the little bit of honor I carried over and have about 4k right now. Carried over 5k from prepatch).
Same type of Honor per Hour for me out of the games I played this morning. Didn’t get any A v A games though. I did go ahead and put my sub cancelation in and it will run out July 27 at 8:55am. The problem is I precisely I spent time leveling the other faction than what I wanted to play because circumstances had me planning to play a lot more PvP than PvE for the foreseeable future. I don’t have the benefit of sitting in an hour+ long queue then play the match so it made sense to do Alliance where I could get 1-2 matches in and then have to go do other things. Maybe get another hour later in the day to play, etc. If they had made the announcement during prepatch they were looking to do this, I would have taken an entirely different approach
