Thematically/conceptually how is Vicious Hunter different from Coordinated Assault?
Then āPet leaderā should be more fitting based on the description above
Especially considering that literally ALL of the so called āenhancementsā apply to the main pet only.
The āPack leaderā name creates expectations that are not met in the slightest with this tree and thatās a fact no matter what the italic text above the talents says
Feedback
- Vicious Hunt - Uninteresting design, Survival canāt directly increase the damage of Kill Command outside of focusing equipping lots of Versatility.
- Pack Coordination - Is this a free use of our petās Basic Attack that automatically triggers regardless of the petās current Focus or GCD state? Unclear. Survival at least is able to pump up the petās Basic Attack damage via Mastery.
- Howl of the Pack - Feels āmehā. More useful for Survival and BM since more of Survivalās damage output comes from themselves rather than their pet.
- Wild Attacks - Decent design when combined with Howl of the Pack.
- Den Recovery - Interesting and useful talent. Well done.
- Tireless Hunt - Doesnāt seem that impactful.
- Cornered Prey - Does this apply to melee attacks and abilities too? When would the extra range actually be useful aside from PvP combat at or just beyond max range? Interesting, but impractical? I guess it could allow Survival Hunters more room to maintain damage outside of āanti-meleeā AoE effects.
- Frenzied Tear - Another talent that heavily favors BM over Survival.
- Covering Fire - Interesting and impactful talent. Straight-forward too. Though BM arguably benefits more due to its inherent synergies with other Kill Command-oriented Hero talents.
- Scattered Prey - The design just feels bad for both specs. Flat DPS increase with zero impact on gameplay.
- Cull the Herd - This talent is a bit weird. BM doesnāt really use Kill Shot because nothing really strongly synergizes with it, though the extra bleed damage might be desirable. Survival almost always uses Kill Shot, though it canāt really benefit from the extra bleed damage as well.
- Furious Assault - Decent.
- Beast of Opportunity - Better for BM than Survival, but unclear as to how good it would be for either. 6 secs isnāt very long, and thereās no telling whether or not the extra pet would utilize Kill Command or any of the other Pack Leader talents. Not a fan of Coordinated Assault.
- Pack Assault - Not a fan of Coordinated Assault, though the extra boost to major cooldowns is welcome. I prefer to run Survival without Coordinated Assault or Spearhead.
Summary
- Survival has a harder time benefit from areas of this tree that arenāt directly tied to the petās Basic Attacks.
- Most of the tree feels pretty bland as a āstuff you already do does a little more damage than it did before, but your rotations otherwise arenāt really going to changeā.
Do you actually play BM? The āactiveā coordination youāre talking about is just the regular rotation that BM already does. They could literally change Vicious Hunt and Pack Coordination to a % damage increase and it would essentially be the same thing from a rotational standpoint.
SV has 5 bleeds wdym?
BM threads are full of people saying there is too many buttons and button bloat is a problem. What did you expect?
Donāt move the goalpost now. First you said itās active coordination now youāre saying it isnāt and shouldnāt be based on some peopleās opinions? Make up your mind man.
yall dont like actives and now yall dont like passives? gotta make up yalls mind
I just want to be 5% larger and glow for my maximum visual enjoyment
Iām not moving the goal post, it is coordination. I didnāt realize they were being literal when they meant āactiveā.
Honestly āPack Leaderā just feels super boring. Thereās no flash, nothing to really show that this is something other than any other regular beast master hunter. Super disappointing. Instead of something to signify this is a āPack Leaderā the Lack of Black Arrow and undead Hounds will be how anyone else identifies it.
Cāmon you all can do better than this.
Make our pets get some special visual effect, give us a 3rd pet, or something with a WOW OMG SO COOL factor.
The ability to choose a pet type or pet family that is summoned as a dire beast and uses itās special ability.
The ability swap pet specs.
Bring back Wild Spirits with a visual reboot that is targetable instead of placed.
just something other than āsmall percent damage upgrade or tiny chance at crit strikeā. Those are nice. More throughput is appreciated but it canāt be the only thing it brings to the table.
Please this is just so disappointing.
It could do this we donāt know tho cuz we havenāt seen it in game yet
I remember Rexar having 4 pets, a bear, wyrvn, owl, and boar. Maybe the boar is wrong, might be thinking of his boars in the horrific visions, but there was a 4th.
Anyway, I was expecting to summon those at different times for different effects. Maybe an ability to throw his axes.
This just feels safe, very very safe.
Yeah. Other trees are at least aesthetically interesting. Even something as silly sounding as paladins endlessly raining hammers from the sky seems fun to look at. This is justā¦ nothing.
Couldnāt at least one talent summon in a giant pet for a few seconds, or something, just to make a visual splash? (eg. Make Beast of Opportunity a stand alone talent and make the pet it summons huge, for visual impact.)
where is everyone seeing the visuals for the abilities? have they been datamined?
we havenāt, but whatās been described is all passive stuff for the most part. It just sounds like it is going to be really lack luster.
I sorry but could you remind me, which set bonus won S4 again? Most answered that they liked the theme, and not only on the American forums.
Pack implies a group working together. These are just passive buffs to your pet doesnāt make me feel like a master of beasts.
This is clearly just designers phoning it in with BM.
Itās pack āleaderā not pack ācallerā.
Itās pet handler. Your telling your pet to bite harder. The set bonus BM has now with CoW gives the impression of a pack leader. I have had at times 4 beasts attacking at once. Thatās visually interesting to watch.
Survival Hunters should have been able to call more pets as well.
Pack Leaders are Hunters that use the instincts, knowledge, and respect theyāve gained over the years as they formed a deep bond and trust with the animals they adventure with. They bring a new style of ferocity and coordination to their combat, teaching their pet to strike their prey with simultaneous attacks.
So it sounds like you have a pack already then lol
if only there was a talent choice node that let you summon a pet when you use coordinated assaultā¦
So, bite harderā¦
Yeah, BM is actually a āPack Leaderā now.
Is there one? I have not been playing Survival.
