1 here, 1 there, 1 during the rework, 1 for the hero talents, it all adds up. You can’t logically say there isn’t an ability bloat right now, and a lot of it adds up, especially when most classes are designed to maximize hitting a button every global.
which is why sweeping strikes shouldn’t be on the GCD, and we shouldn’t be getting another channell melee ability that locks us in place? that sounds horrid to be honest. That isn’t why I play melee.
My only issues with both this and Mountain Thane have 1 big over arching problem, when compared to other new trees, they are getting new looks, whole new buttons, new interactions and just new ideas, Both the current war trees compared to the rest are so uninteresting when looking at the whole picture of the rest of them. Colossus is better off than Mountain Thane solely because it comes with a new idea that can change gameplay quite a bit. But the rest of the tree is still just kinda “New idea Bankrupt”
However i am very happy to hear that the warrior trees are getting looked at, better acsess to shockwave is a great step forward but we still got some ways to go. Warrior needs some group utility IE, Lust would be a great addition to the kit, and if Incorporeal and afflicted are staying i would at minimum have a GOOD way to deal with incorp(shattering throw being a answer to a affix that spawns every minute and a half or so aint cutting it) I guess if i were to TLDR my post- The Warrior trees need to be on par with the rest of them in terms of design, not just numeric’s, new mechanics, new abilities, new ideas
If Warrior has too many buttons for you I don’t know what to tell you. If we were talking about Monks or Priests that would be a completely different story.
Has nothing to do with “Bloat” but I agree with this.
Like thats actually wild for an AoE opener. You wana shove Demolish in that as well? Thats enough to make players nervous.
And this is before you consider the fact that Arms has another variation of AoE (FoB + Collateral Damage) that changes your AoE rotation again, or if you spef Cleave.
In terms of Single Target? Probaly fine for Demolish, but it would help a ton if Colossus Smash/Warbreaker interacted in an ease of use way for Demolish.
As a long time warrior main (I’ve played warrior since I started playing wow in classic/vanilla or whatever it was called) I’ve played so many different arms play styles and if anyone here is familiar with a popular private server that blizzard has taken a lot of inspiration from recently you will be very familiar with this button as well (it legit has the same name and use), and I would like to say I LOVE IT. Basically your playing ms based arms warrior slamming those Ms crits out like a factory trying to get the cd and damage on the demo to line up with csmash or maybe Tom in exe phase if it’s high enough, for a absolute dumpster hit (or ability) every 30-45 seconds based on haste and cds.
With that being said they would still need to fix the current and ongoing rage economy problem with arms warrior
I’m sorry, but these were the most pathetic, uninspired, and boring talents I think I’ve seen so far. Just compare this tree to the Warlocks. Their tree is AMAZING, so much so that I think Warlock will be my main. But while they’re getting new demons popping out, barrages of Shadowbolts, demon-infested meteors, and other great things… Warrior gets some X% damage increases, small chances to proc a small heal, 2 second longer stun, and the biggest talent in the tree - 5% size increase. Like… It’s NO contest. This is pathetic.
The 2 seconds longer stun makes warriors quite a bit more viable in dungeons, the crit %s bring warrior closer to what it should be and I will always advocate for them, arms should hit like a firetruck when it crits with MS, if they fix the rage problems and make the channel a hit instead I think this would be my favorite playstyle they have had yet for arms.
Atleast in ST, I usually go fury for keys (other than s1 this xpac and the last 2 seasons of sl)
That’s…not the point. Warlocks also got extra damage, through interactive and interesting talents. You just get “5% more damage” and think that’s good enough? That’s what you want out of a Hero Talent?
If it’s crit damage, yes, now we stack crit haste and a little mastery and we back to getting HUGE MS hits instead of overpower and dreadnaughr competing with Ms in damage
Everything in this tree advocates for clicking Ms on cooldown as it ALWAYS SHOULD. If they make demo a hit instead of a channel you even get the feeling of an awesome reward in the form of a mega button to SLAM that damage every 30 seconds. So if we get a fix to the rage of warrior where we actually mix up slam and op in between Ms hits and focus on getting decent Tom buffs, I’d be overjoyed
So… Again… Warlocks get to throw huge meteors around and summon even more demons, Paladins get to burn waves of enemies in a dozen lightbeams or call down waves of hammers which sounds hilarious, and you get 7 out of 11 talents that make the numbers on your screen just a little bit bigger. Not to mention that your big, tree-defining ability is a channeled attack. A Warrior, using a channeled attack.
Yeah, bring warriors back to what worked and what felt good to play, give us a big button as a reward and I’m a happy camper, but again as I’ve said 3 or 4 times I would prefer they changed it to a hit instead of channel.
You do realize MOST players want more out of their class than just hit one or two big buttons and nothing else matters. It’s boring. It’s lazy. It’s not creative. It’s not fun.
See your missing the playstyle of arms warrior then, arms at its peak was always big hits with Ms, sweeping in those slams/op or whatever the current filler was, while making sure you don’t go rage starved or overcapping, Tom made it even more fun giving you timings where you like to click slam slam slam (or exe when in that phase) and op when in the buff phase
If that ain’t satisfying to you what draws you to play arms warrior if you don’t mind me asking (I’m actually curious not being sarcastic as that’s why I always loved arms, and would go fury to BURRR in keys when I’m feeling it)
I never said having big buttons that go BURRRR was a bad thing. The problem is, you’re still missing the point. They could have done more. They could’ve given you the lame, boring X% damage increase ALONG with actual abilities. More bleeds, more strikes, tearing up the ground like Godfrey in Elden Ring, SOMETHING. There’s nothing here, at all.
I don’t think I’m missing the point at all, I’m saying that if they make it a hit instead of a channel it’s all arms needs other than fixing the GLARING problem it currently has for me to be overjoyed with the talent tree and its playstyle because it would bring arms back to its peak playstyle
