I quite like this tree a lot. I have more concerns than downright cons, as we haven’t play tested this build.
Positives:
- I like the idea of building up colossal might passively for Demolish
- Shockwave actually sees more use, which massively helps us with aoe cc (especially considering it will be more accessible per dev note)
- Cleave may be more worth taking. It’s hard to know since we can’t test the numbers on it yet.
- The extra survivability on the right side of the tree is quite nice.
Concerns:
- Demolish being a channel. I really don’t mind it being a channel, I think it would be quite nice as a minor change of pace, but not being able to move while channeling would feel horrible.
- This is probably on purpose, since this may be reserved for the Slayer tree or may just not fit here thematically, but there is a notable distinct lack of talents for execute in here.
- For Arms especially, it will be much harder to build stacks of Colossal Might during our Execute phase, it may be worth considering making Execute being able to grant us Colossal Might stacks
As a note: I feel like Shockwave should be made more accessible in the class tree regardless of if the Colossus tree utilized it or not since we currently do not have easy access to aoe cc.

Well fyralath is 3 seconds so… it’s either a 2 or 3 secs channeling. A 1 sec would just be the gcd starting at the end of the cast. My point being the more stacks you have, the more Cd reduction you get.
With Fyr that takes into account the charge and I believe it is also affected by Haste no?
You charge then cast. And it is affected by haste.
But either way, if it stays a cast, they need to to add more control over it so it doesnt feel too constrictive.

Without a charge, and being something “baseline” that you do all the time I’m guessing it’ll work more like the trinkets than the Legendary.
I have concerns about Demolish. The tooltip says that you can dodge/block/parry while using it, which makes it sound like it’s either a channel, or a “pseudo-channel” like Bladestorm.
Arms doesn’t need more of this. It already suffers in M+ since you can’t interrupt or stun while Bladestorming, and adding another core rotational ability to the mix where you can’t use your already extremely limited support kit will just push it further out of use.
(Also, if it is a channel, are we able to move while using it? Again, the description isn’t clear.)

This is what the tree should look like, get rid of the channel nobody really wants to play around that in m+, raiding or pvp just make it a csmash/warbreaker replacement & demo shout for prot

to many question about demolish, but the main one is: how is it different from bladestorm?
It’s just a worse version of it lol.
Most of us would like to play our characters not just have a bunch of channels & bleeds.
Big ms/executes & make demolish a csmash/demo shout replacement.

You know what, this is an interesting idea.
Personally, I would maybe prefer to have demolish replace Colossus Smash/Warbreaker after we press it. So immediately after pressing our damage amplifying cooldown, we get a big damage button to press and on the same keybind.

I think people who like bladestorm only do so because of nostalgia. Its an iconic ability. If bladestorm were introduced as is in 2024, nobody would like it. Losing control of your character for that long isn’t interesting. Cant use movement abilities, cant interrupt, etc.
I played arms for almost all of dragonflight and actively avoid any build that uses bladestorm.

STOP WITH THE ABILITY BLOAT
why do yall think adding a bajillin buttons is fun, you guys need a reality check and someone at blizzard needs to actually play warrior.
WE ARE LACKING, HOW COME NONE OF THE CLASSES THAT CAN USE THE LEGENDARY ARE A TOP 5 DPS IN RAID METRICS.
Sad

this is exactly why my suggestion above offers to instead transform already existing abilities into cool new ones, almost like Heroes of the Storm style talents.
Frankly I play a Warrior for two reasons:
-
The fantasy of being a magic-less knight that compensates with raw power
-
There is a sweet satisfaction to playing a class with a low active button count. If it were up to me, I’d actively seek to reduce as many unneccessary buttons as possible to the point of feeling like Garen from LoL. So I cannot say I’m crazy about them constantly trying to add more between BfA and now. I liked it when it was braindead simple in Legion.
TL;DR:
Me warrior, me not big IQ, me hit thing and see big number appear. Me like.

Very much this! Would go a long way in making sure we’re not adding another ability into a crowded spec already.

Don’t mind me just lurking here, haven’t played warrior since BFA
But this straight up would make me play one again, this sounds fun as hell

Okay… you cooked with this. Agree! Also, please remove the stacking of the colossal might buff before being able to press it…

It sounds like Demolish is a channel, which immediately makes me think of Fyr’alath (the legendary axe) where you are “locked out” for ~2 seconds while casting it and I don’t like the thought of that.
I don’t really see the point of “One against many” or I guess I don’t see why shockwave is part of it unless they are trying to make us actually take the Shockwave capstones (but we also don’t know what the tree will look like going forward).
edit: I also wouldn’t mind seeing more execute involvement in this as well. Like it feels great that MS hits hard(er), but I also want to see some juicy executes as well.
