Favorite Christmas Song

Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree by Brenda Lee. She was 13 when she sang it!!

I like it too

Either Believe by Josh Groban or The Christmas Song by Nat King Cole.

The one I dislike the most is The Christmas Shoes, it makes me want to cry

Do You Hear What I Hear by Bing Crosby.

That song is so cynically wrong, it’s just purely made to tug on emotions in a really scummy way.

Or…

Travesty no one has mentioned the best “new” classic:

“Christmas Wrapping” by The Waitresses. EASILY my fav xmas song, it should be made into a short movie. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ll give a thumbs up to Billy Squire’s “Christmas is a time to say I Love you.” SUPER nostalgia for when Mtv ruled the world.

IN GENERAL-- all I want is the old classics. Any xmas songs in the last 20 years are such obvious money-grabs, I can’t stand any of them. If you EVEN listen to Mariah Carey, you’re sub-human.

The old classics? I’d pick Bing Crosby, “Mele Kalikimaka.”

Sir-- may I MAKE your holiday season!

In honor of the passing of Shane MacGowan of the Pogues, I’ll risk posting this one.

Best version of Little Drummer Boy is this with the bass turned up:

As for my favorite… I’ve got many! Here’s a couple, but for me it’s these specific versions:

But my very very favorite is from my heritage, which is currently being wiped from the face of the earth…

I made a playlist of some of my favorite Christmas songs.

Basically any I can listen to all year long because I’ve always really loved Christmas.

Carol of the Bells in general but I love the Bad Wolves version.

“The Little Drummer Boy” by Bing Crosby is probably my all-time favorite.

But I really like “Baby it’s Cold Outside”, mostly because it upset people who misunderstood the meaning of the song and it’s actually a really sweet song about human relationships in general. Note that the song was written & sang by a husband and wife to tell their guests to get out.

baby shark.

It breaks my heart listening to it right now. But I love it. We still don’t know what happened to our relatives over in the Ukraine. :slightly_frowning_face:

I’m very cynical about so much Christmas music. A lot of it is so very lame. But for some reason Josh Groban’s version of O Holy Night just hits me in the heart and gets me feeling all Christmasy. Its a beautiful song anyway, but also just feels super nostalgic. Takes me back to childhood.

None of them. I have never found a single Christmas song I enjoy. They are all annoying as can be.
