False reporting and automated ban

I am not talking about then. I am talking about the present. I will not speculate on something neither of us can prove.

You have amazing faith in the playerbase if you think people will only report things that break the ToS. There have already been a myriad of examples of posters on this forum saying they’re going to abuse the system to silence anyone saying things they don’t like.

By the way, I still have yet to see a single person saying Blizzard shouldn’t punish people breaking rules, or that other players shouldn’t be able to report you. The argument has simply been against auto-squelch, since that will be horribly abused.

If they don’t have the time to review every case of an account that is simply “flagged” for manual review when it reaches the same target number of reports that would trigger an auto squelch, why would they have time to review every auto squelch?

Are you saying that it perfectly OK for a case of player imposed punishment to go without being manually reviewed?

I don’t recall anyone saying that those things should not be reported.

IMO, that does not mean that those reports should be tied to an auto squelch, though.

Are you not insisting that the right click report be tied to an auto squelch?

Okay then, do you think the TOS would be enforced adequately in classic with blizzard’s current support structure?

No, that is why we are talking about auto ignore, not auto squelch.

Has evidence not been shown that players have used the right click report tied to an auto squelch to remove players on the opposing team from a BG?

Has evidence not been shown that the system in place in retail IS being abused?

So you think blizzard GM’s are incapable of responding properly or promptly to issues?

Sorry Fez, misquoted.

Does not matter what I think about blizzard employees, that is something I cannot change. It is not part of the conversation.

I can only speak for myself, but I do not.

If you feel that another player is violating the TOS, report them.

IMO, once you report that player, ANY punishment (including a squelch) should be up to Blizzard, though.

You couldn’t go into the city without seeing the old system being abused. If the new system was anywhere near as abused as the old then everyone would be squelched.

The fact that you may feel it was not “adequately enforced” does not mean that Blizzard did not review your reports and determine that no violation occurred and no action was necessary.

So the situation that will exist if blizzard does or does not implement right click reporting is not part of this discussion?

LoL did you play vanilla? Some of that chat would make a prostitute blush.

You tell me, It’s hypothetical. Quit lawyering me bro.

I played vanilla, but honestly I do not remember that much of the chat. I guess what ever was said did not bother me that much. YMMV though.

Given that Blizzard has since come up with right click reporting, I would think that they didn’t think their response was adequate.
