You have amazing faith in the playerbase if you think people will only report things that break the ToS. There have already been a myriad of examples of posters on this forum saying they’re going to abuse the system to silence anyone saying things they don’t like.

By the way, I still have yet to see a single person saying Blizzard shouldn’t punish people breaking rules, or that other players shouldn’t be able to report you. The argument has simply been against auto-squelch, since that will be horribly abused.

I had a discussion with a GM on this once, years ago, on a specific report, and the GM told me that they DONT HAVE THE TIME to manually review each case.

How are they suddenly going to have the time to manually review each case of an auto squelch?

Or, are you telling us all that it OK in your opinion for a player imposed punishment to go without manual review?

If they don’t have time to review every auto squelch, why would they have time to review every person in your proposed priority review system?

If they don’t have the time to review every case of an account that is simply “flagged” for manual review when it reaches the same target number of reports that would trigger an auto squelch, why would they have time to review every auto squelch?

I stated I report for what IS breaking the rules.

Swearing is breaking the rules.

Spamming the same message every two minutes is breaking the rules.

Advertising gambling ingame is against the rules.

Adverttising RMT carries in chat is against the rules.

IMO, that does not mean that those reports should be tied to an auto squelch, though.

Well yes blizzard is very authoritarian, but really you should be mad at the people who abused how lenient they were with enforcement.

If you feel that another player is violating the TOS, report them.

Given that Blizzard has since come up with right click reporting, I would think that they didn’t think their response was adequate.
