The auto ignore is perfect for the right click report system, IMO.
IMO, the auto squelch is not, though. That is what I oppose.
I do not oppose the player’s having the option to right click report to make reporting easier and to remove themselves from being exposed to swearing, foul jokes, racist comments or any other chat that they find offensive.
I originally thought it was the Badboy addon that was doing it, and I think it does do something if configured to.
But you aren’t free to do that in Blizzards games, and perhaps people can exercise some personal responsiblity and tact and not think they need to say whatever they want , whenever they want and think that everyone needs to hear them, why can’t that happen sometimes too?

I would compare it to seeing the Enterprise exploding in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. Even Spock’s “death” in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan did not affect me quite as much as seeing the Enterprise explode.

That does not mean that we should stop asking Blizzard to change a system that has been abused and will likely be abused even more in Classic due to the difference in environments.
That does not mean that we should just accept that players will have the optiont collude with their friends and guild mates to squelch any other player for any reason, even that player never broke any rules.
That does not mean that we should accept that players have the option to punish other players for every little slight they think they suffered.
After all, what kind of Autobot would Optimus have been if he said “I can’t beat Megatron. He always cheats.” and just gave up the fight?
