Yes it was. Even in vanilla, there was a red “?” at the bottom of your screen that let you submit reports.

Yes which without GM’s actually doing something about it was completely meaningless.

But why are GMs busy? Think what’ll happen when a GM has to investigate every single person who reports someone. Or do you think they shouldn’t investigate if the system is being abused? You’ve just added a MASSIVE amount of work for GMs.

I can guarantee you, whether the person was innocent or not, will submit a ticket to try an appeal their silence. Thus, I do agree, it probably has increased their workload if anything.

If your argument is that the GM’s didn’t actually review chat complaints prior to right click report that kind of proves the point of why it’s needed.
You’re free to /ignore them. What are you doing in the mean time? Are you saying you would not place this person on ignore?

Right click report already ignores them. It also contributes to them being squelched for having a sewer for a mouth.
You are NOT allowed to use obscenities and foul language in chat.
Just because you got away with it before doesnt mean you get away with it now.

The issue here is that you don’t have infinite ignore spaces. And there’s likely going to be a lot of people you might want to ignore. Even addons like InfiniteIgnore don’t work well, and they’re only a temporary bandaid.

And no, players didn’t get away with it before. They still used to get reported and suspended.

I never curse in general chat. I just don’t care if other people do. Not trying to get away with anything.
Sadly, although I rarely use it.
There’s really only two types I ignore. Spammers and anyone who feels to whisper me over and over again for whatever reason. Not offensive, just annoying.

there is no such thing as automated ban, what are you talking about?
there is auto silence, but that is it, and is usually pretty quickly fixed if false.

Part of why I am glad that there is right-click reports is because of a deluge of spammers.
I’m on a RP server, and it’s a daily occurence that there’s someone who is there just to troll and spam. Sometimes in groups, sometimes several individuals.
In the old days, there were mass groups, of large populations of a server who were there just to troll “in protest” of their own servers being down, and there weren’t enough ignore slots for all of them.
For Classic? I hear a lot of Classic people fearful of Retail players coming to troll them - spamming, trolling, etc. etc. If that does happen? What, other than hoping that Retail players are far away, will they do about that?

Dude, I’m not sure what I’m being ejected for. And what bar is this? And why am I the one being ejected? Maybe I overheard something. Maybe I was at a booth and overheard something that was… offensive.

Your 1st amendment does not exist outside the US. It has no force of law. NONE.
The Aust Constitution does not have an enumerated freedom of speech right and never has. Neither do a lot of nations.
