False reporting and automated ban

People really need to go back and look at all those links I posted above

They protest too much methinks…

Not really being upset about what someone else said is fundamentally no different than being upset someone else doesn’t want to hear want to hear what you said.

Jesus, this has nothing to do with freedom of speech. Last I checked the Constitution has absolutely no power in this game, and it shouldn’t.

People reserve their right to silence me if they disagree with me. I have no problem with that.

I do not agree with one person silencing me globally because they dont like what i have to say. If you do not like what i have to say. You dont have to see it. But that does not give you the right to silence me globally because you personally disagree with me.

What were dealing with is subjective. What one person might not like to hear does not mean others do not want to hear it. No one person should decide for other what they can and cannot see.

Do you really not understand this?

it gives power to players not to mob mentality.

You’re in luck!

  • Only a GM can institute a silence.

  • Only a set number of the public (a number greater than 1) can squelch a player

I know this thread is weeks long and thousands of posts, but take some time to read the highlights. It’s not a single person. Blizzard will never say what the number is, but it takes multiple reports.

Then it’s a good thing that 1 single person cannot silence you now isn’t it. So if you’re getting squelched it’s because you were annoying multiple people in some way and maybe you should take your time out and think about that.

That’s not how it works, it takes more than one person to be squelched. That effect is temporary until a GM reviews it. If you are Silenced, it mean a GM reviewed it and agreed with the reports. Squelch doesn’t affect your account whereas a Silence adds a blackmark.

So I’m retrospect I’m pretty confident this was 100% troll bait by a forum alt to keep the thread going and it worked on me. Bummer

So were totally ok giving power to a vocal fringe minority instead of the player, got it.

LoL if not wanting gold spammers or racist slurs in my trade chat = fringe minority, sure pal

And yet people like you are fine with Public Blacklists and Callouts.

Try to apply this same logic to the real world. That dog doesn’t hunt.

Way to take it to the absolute extreme to fit your narrative. Meanwhile rejecting my extreme narrative that this system could so easily be abused by the fringe minority to silence differing views, opinions, and ideas.

The fact is one system allows a singular players to see things they want and to cut out things they don’t want to see.

The other system that you are so graciously for allows the opportunity for corruption, manipulation, and collusion for fringe minorities to run a gambit on what their subjective view of speech that can and cannot be seen.

If you want to discuss those, do so on Facebook, not in game.

So people arnt allowed to have differing views, opinions, and ideas about a game, their story lines, heros, cities, boss stratagies? They must go to FB to discuss such topics?

Clearly you people do not understand the difference between giving the player the power and not the vocal minority the power. And how the later is prone to immense corruption, manipulation and collusion.

Clearly this is lost on you, I’m out.

This is absolutely not what you said when you came into this forum. Your first post said:[quote=“Smiles-malorne, post:3482, topic:89166”]
. Oh you dont like what someone had to say because your snowflake personality who took offense to what they said. Well you can ignore them in perpetuity and never ever hear from them again.

Your specific problem was that snowflakes can’t handle seeing things that offend them. This is the first time you said anything about abusing the system. Clarify your argument. The system does have potential for abuse and that’s something to talk about and hopefully get some feedback from blizzard on. But the intent of the system is quite literally for exactly the “absolute extremes” I mentioned.
