False reporting and automated ban

Ythisens posted in this forum that they’re keeping an eye on the topic. Also, apparently he posted in the Discord that they’ve had internal discussions about it. It’s definitely not a foregone conclusion that auto squelch will be in Classic. I’m hopeful and confident they recognize the community killing aspect of it, and keep it out of Classic.

You are no longer worth responding to. Each post you makes sees me wishing we had that ignore feature back.

Consider my reporting your name calling as “abuse” or an “attack” if you like.

While this is true, (and this also happens to be an issue where we are wholeheartedly in agreement), we also have to be already out of, or rapidly approaching the time limit for with which decisions like this can still be made, if the game is going to hit it’s summer launch target. It’s part of the reason I find the lack of information so concerning… as surely they must have hammered out a number of the design decisions by this point.

Just learning what those decisions are are could do wonders for resolving some of the topics of contention on the forums.

Could you cite the source of this please?

I googled that whole quote and that statement was apparently made SIX YEARS AGO. It’s not like that statement was made yesterday or last week, or even after they announced they were making Classic.

That statement was also made with reference to the right click report being used a different game with a different environment.

But, hey, Blizzard said that at one point in time and it meshes with Galdor’s desires, so it must be Gospel for all time, right? I mean, it’s not like Blizzard has ever changed policies in a six year span, right?

What part of that quote would not apply well to classic? I could care less how many years ago it was posted or for what game.

Is it the prevention of in game situation escalation part that you do not like?

PS you forgot your cheezy bumper sticker.

Six months or so from release they should have this decision made. Maybe they enjoy watching us squirm. :persevere:

Maybe they already have, and the answer is, “The system will be same as in Current WoW.”

IMO, the player imposed punishment is not conducive to or compatible with the vanilla environment. That is just my opinion, though.

However, if recent posters are correct, even Blizzard acknowledges that the player imposed punishment may not be appropriate for Classic.

Maybe they already have and the answer is “We’re going to leave the auto squelch in the system, but we’ll adjust the target number of reports needed to trigger that auto squelch”.

The point is that we simply do not know. We can all speculate til the cows come home, but at this point, no one outside of Blizzard can say for certain.

That which apparently never happened in Melga’s mind.

And no, I am not going to do further scrolling to my original posts of the proposal for her benefit. She can continue her meltdows where she cheerleads for Fesz while calling people “liars”, all she has is a warped POV and slander.

That is not even remotely capable of protecting you from squelch. You don’t even need to say anything to be reported for reasons

Condoms are not 100% effective and vascectomys can reverse. Therefore neither should be options. They are merely a punishment for having intercorse. Seat belts? Why bother, people die while wearing them on a regular basis. Vaccines? Don’t even get me started on them…

This is indeed a huge issue with the system, but then the I would guess the vast majority of people being squelched are people mouthing off in chat not random mid world for no reason squelches.

You guys are way to paranoid about it maybe you shouldnt play classic.also i have never been reported or banned in game.i am not worried about it.

Mostly it’s just fear mongering because they want to troll chat and this makes it harder.

Pretty much 80% of the player base wont be effected by it and shouldnt worry about it.

Streamers are the ones who should be worried about it.
