Yep they are except it’s not brilliance it’s common sense.
Brilliance is the higgs boson particle, fear mongering is complaining that you won’t be able to troll chat channels but trying to claim there’s some conspiracy.
How many times did you speak out against this system in the 10+ years it’s been active on World of Warcraft? I can see you’ve been playing, somewhat consistently for the last 10 years. Where are the past posts displaying your outrage over this system that allows players to punish other players?
I’d like to start over in this thread because it got very heated, and we lost sight of the message behind the initial Post. I do not agree with an automated system. The complaints have to start somewhere, and it’s starting today/the time this thread was made.
I’d be happy to provide any Sources, other Posters are curious about, in regards to why I feel this way. New slate.
In the first post you quoted, I note the possibility that even blizzard acknowledges that the player imposed punishment may not be appropriate for Classic.
In the second post (which you cherry picked, BTW) , I noted that we do not know yet what Blizzard will do with the player imposed punishment when it comes to classic.
Here is the total post from which you cherry picked that second quote, so that everyone can see the total context:
The auto-squelch system really shouldn’t exist. All squelches should require a GM to review the reports. The current system is very easy to take advantage of.
There is nothing stopping any popular streamer from telling their followers “Hey that guy has an ugly tmog! Everyone report him so he gets auto-banned!” or “This guy just killed me in wPvP! Everyone report him now!” I wouldn’t be surprised if there are entire guilds on some servers who troll people with mass-reports like this.
The problem with the system is that players report other players for having different opinions. IF there was a system that looks into reporting people for nonsense, and actually penalizes the reporter if they’re confirmed to have been reporting nonsense, it wouldn’t be such an issue.
The problem is that people are being reported for violations and the violators think it is opinions based.
For instance, if someone reports your proclamation “not-sees did nothing wrong”, it is not because of a difference of opinion. Of course if one were to spout off in general chat that “gammon did nothing wrong” and was reported for such, then the GMs should deal harshly with those reporting.
Anyone who pearl clutches about being reported for opinions are most likely trying to pretend the subject matter or frequency of what they did was not the reason for the reports.
Read what I wrote. We’re not allowed to post links so I posted all the information needed to find it. Further research on the source documents on which the article is based will give all the numbers. It’s there if you want to do your research of it.
An overly-active amygdala is often displayed in defensive behavior.
no where does your study say that right wingers are brain damaged. it just says they are big on fear, though frankly, it doesn’t even tell me how many people were studied or anything of that nature.
therefore i am going to have to conclude your article is a load of crap, if this information was even remotely accurate it would have made BIG NEWS, but seeing as this article is over 7 years old and i’m just now hearing about it, odds are its another loaded left bullcrap study.
like those same studies that say women get paid 77 cents for every dollar a man makes.
Psychology is a fairly large field of study with really thousands of research papers on the psychology of fear, the expression of past traumas, etc., and the part of the brains most affected by those traumas, whether they are physical or stress-based. You won’t find that in one single article or even a few courses in psychology. However, you also don’t need to be a psychologist (though it helps). The information is there and (mostly) online (thankfully). If you want to conclude the information is garbage without doing any research into it, then you’re helping in some ways to sell the point. Whichever helps you feel safe.
so again. tell me what part of that study showed that right wingers were brain damaged again? nothing said brain damaged. sorry. way to try to twist what it says to suit your leftist desires.
your the one that claimed it. so show me exactly where in your article that it says right wingers are brain damaged - i’ll wait.
i’m just waiting for him to back up his claim that
when in fact all it said that people in the right tend to have a larger amygdala which as he points out, is defensive oriented. which seeing as most the military is made up of conservatives, doesn’t surprise me in the slightest.
nothing about brain damage though. to me that seems more like typical leftist stretching the truth, just like the normal claim that women get paid 77 cents for every dollar a man makes.
Oh, my… “i’ll wait.” The mating call of the overly-sensitive individual who wants their homework done for them. I gave you the starting point. It’s up to you to make that step. If delving into psychology and studies of the effects of trauma on the human brain are too difficult for you, then I guess you’ll have to wait for a long time. I’ve done my homework. I only do other people’s homework if they pay me. Enjoy your wait.
