That really sounds like a you problem.
And really, is it really odder that a person missing the arm is not a regular sight, or that there are a ton of people missing limbs wandering around?

Because Anduin Lothar, unfortunately, in the lore, was white. With a wife.
So at some point, he had a melanated affair apparently, which is a mini retcon and ruins Lothars original image.
Faerin is a diversity insert. Fact.
Her existence, while on its own and not having the name Lothar, would be one thing.
Combined with her dialogue, her portrayal, her stoicism as compared to Anduin, the obvious masculinity she possesses while again, Anduin has none - there are a myriad of reasons as to why she is problematic from a writing standpoint.
And deep down, everyone knows why she is the way she is.
But, she’s only one aspect of a much larger issue.

It’d make sense to see the Arathi with more prosthetic people than one whose been given features that can be used as a distraction in leu of a character and story that’s actually interesting or well written.
I was near bored to tears while leveling up.
You do know you are allowed to say “I just don’t like this character” and leave it at that and not make up unnecessary theories about how this is all some dark conspiracy to to do who knows what?
Everyone’s got different taste, that in itself is fine. Not so fine to come into a thread where someone’s got a taste that clashes with yours and pretend that your opinion is objective and turn it into a dumpster fire.
Also doesn’t make it look organic when so many of the people doing that sound like their parroting the talking points of grifters who use hate to build up their own power.

Faerin is good, that board game of hers though…
As long as we only have to play it that one time I’m ok with it.
Eugenics shouldn’t even apply. It’s literally an injury. She can’t pass that off to any children she has.
Unless they mean her personality appearance is so bad… but that’s double yikes.
Most peices of quality and popular media have politically charged lecturesi n them. Ever seen star trek? what about star wars? even before the new millenium for either show
This is not the problem. Even children shows had apparently these infomercials back in the day (I just saw some examples on YT for this). What people do not like is offensively written agendas to push a narrative, which distracts from the entertainment product.
And that’s what Faerin is as a character. Too unbelievable and such a stand-out story- and character design-wise that it ruins the immersion. She is a checklist character, regardless of what discussion point you want to bring in.

Even if that were true. You see this pattern and choose to join them of your own volition? I don’t like to show around the word sheep but…
I’m not sure why people are saying she’s a Mary Sue. Yeah, she seems stronger than Anduin right now, but that’s because Anduin is not currently able to use most of his power. She’s also clearly developed her strength over many years of training and experience.
People don’t like her because she’s a she, she’s black, and she’s disabled. If people would just play through the side quests, they develop her character in great depth. I’d definitely recommend people play Hallowfall and Azj-Kahet reading through everything at least once. The Ringing Depths were kind of forgettable, but the last 2 zones were awesome.

Yes. But it broke my immersion for how important she is as a character without actual having flaws.
Actually, that is an incorrect statement but that’s another whole topic for another day. Hollywood is currently making a course direction regarding this. Especially Disney (+MCU/Lucasfilms), after they lost good money on it the recent years. And as with every trend, this will also swap over in other media with time.
The problem really lies in awful activist writing.

If something like that broke your immersion then literally anything and everything can break your immersion.
You must also be new to warcraft. She’s about as flawed as Thrall was from wc3 to wrath.
She doesn’t seem flawed because we still barely know her. When you meet someone for the first time you don’t magically know all their character flaws.
They lost money because it’s so same boring fomularich trite. But the things y’all have complain about has been around and popular since at least the 60s.
It’s been around for over 50 years and will continue to exist for over 50 years.

Seriously go back and watch popular shows and movies from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s. And they can all easily be described as “woke” by modern standards. Hell look at the first alien movie. If that came out today it’d be labeled woke and “Activist writing”.

No, we’re just noticing patterns that characters that aren’t that different to Ripley or other female action characters from movies before people like you decided this was some war on you are getting labeled as unrealistic DEI blah blah blah. You just didn’t have the brain poison when you first saw those movies so they’re ok, but you don’t give the same chances to characters any more.

Different names, it was political correctness back then, same scaredy cat panic over the idea that you need to treat people who are different than you the same way you’d treat people similar to you.

It really isn’t. It just got called something else back then. New term, same thing being complained about. Politically correct was the big thing when I was a kid. Woke is just the new politically correct.
The word wasn’t used because back then the word hadn’t yet been co-opted by people who hate diversity.

The Acolytes recent, colossal failure lends weight to the criticism that’s brushed off as “Just the haters being loud”.
Blizzard as well as many other big companies are likely going to feel the same sting as the trend indicates if they don’t do something soon…

Was it really? Or are the loud obnoxious people just taking standard platform quickness to drop a new show that doesn’t meet high standards of profitability as vindication of their weird little crusade?
I haven’t got around to watching it, but it’s definitely suffering from the insufferable political maniacs who make it impossible to have a good conversation about fandom stuff anymore.
