Dude who would tank for this community? Iām an experienced tank and get brutally *&^% on by every trigger happy dps, meanwhile Iām literally healing myself more than the healer. The system is the problem, but the community seals the deal.
If an experienced tank isnāt good enough for you, you get nothing. Also, the rewards arenāt even that good - why even bother with mythics itās a horribly boring part of the game ādo this dungeon AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN slightly harder SLIGHTLY harder nowā
And you wont see an upgrade till m4 for crests, and m7 for gear assuming you do delves frequently, and you should. Takes like 10 mins to do a delve on my blood (With loot at end), versus a key which might take 20 minutes, or it might take an hour (with hardly any loot)
Its not hard to see where the tanks went xD
I play tankā¦ always tankā¦ but I refrain from 95% of group activities because no one is patient enough for me to learnā¦ they expect me to be elite and know everything and if I mention itās my first time tanking said thing I get berated for being a scrubā¦ so I usually just rank open world thingsā¦ I like the idea of being a tank being hard to kill the fantasyā¦ but if people wonāt help me help them then itās a no go for meā¦ same reason I donāt join guilds cause they see me in tank spec and then invite me thinking they have a new raid tank and I havenāt even played the dungeons yet lolā¦
He posted on a druid, almost like the Guardian spec doesnāt exist (and itās not in exactly a bad place either).
I actually like it, every time I go looking for a group, I have so many options as a tank. However, Iām not joining a key that doesnāt have a āminimum ilvlā set, and I will be checking everyone upon entering. Not carrying someone either.
We dont need that kinda nonsense again.
ā¦thats ALL end game content
Run the same delves. Slightly harder
Run the same dungeons. Slightly harder
Run the same raids. Slightly harder
Run against the same comps. Slightly harder
Bruh same, my guild has too many tanks, Iām the main off tank, but cant ever get keys done because of the surplus. So my tank is stagnating and all the slower paced players are catching up. Frustrating as heck, but M+ was a chore, i just want my vault slots filled xD
Not if I cannot make up time for bringing a bad DPS because of poor damage scaling for tanks and healers.
Dude. Tanks have had instant ques since day one. Literally day one of rdf. Same with healers generally. Stop being daft.
Says the guy who needs to get the last word in lol totally normal
Tanks especially good tanks have no need to pug.
This is the main deterrent for new players I think.
I decided to main a tank this season and itās much more involved than a dps spec. I canāt just queue into a new dungeon and figure it out as I go. I have to know what to do before I even join. Itās a lot to learn and for a new player I imagine itās overwhelming. Heck Iāve been playing nearly 20 years and itās overwhelming to me at times
The problem is that blizzard forgot why tanks and healers play the game. They tried to make these roles more like dps over time, and itās alienating more and more people. Iām sure they wanted to entice dps players to the role, but that was never going to happen anyway.
Theyāve decided to make Michael Phelps play ping pong.
Stick with it. Most of the timers are not to strict and you can always go back to fill out the count. Than remember what you needed to pull as extra the next time you try it. Thats how most of my routes developed in week 1.
Also at the end of the dungeon you can always ask for feedback. Something like hey guys is there anything I could improve on. Its amazing how many suggestions you get that are polite. Iāve discovered tons of things about these dungeons I didnāt know before hand because I donāt play those roles, such as not dispelling the overseers in GB because they give a 10% damage done to mobs aura. Or going down the sides instead of the mid to the last boss in AK (something Iām not going to do again unless we have a coordinated comp that can remove slows as I was getting stunned and near one shot way to often.)
I know it can seem like everyone is negative all the time but here is a copy of one of the end of dungeon conversations I had.

Spec guardian. Problem solved.
Not just new players. Iāve been playing for ~15 years or something, and itās still a deterrent lol.
I got 80 on prot pally and got some gear, headed out into heroics. Every group I get in thereās a DPS thatās running ahead pulling mobs and extra packs in that rush rush mentality dragging them back to me. I ask them to stop and let me pull at my leisure as Iām not even full 580 yet. I get yelled out and even kicked out for speaking up. āIf you canāt handle it you shouldnāt be queing as tankā ā¦ " No one wants to spend 15 mins in a heroic" When did normal and heroics become M+? Well one less tank out there Iāll stick to holy/retā¦ Toxic people gonna be toxic.
I actually love tanking, but for me its the routes for percentages. I wish there was an addon like Zygors that just arrow pointed me to all the mobs I needed and I would literally tank all the time. Unfortunately, its way easier and less time consuming to just herp derp zugzug as a dps, so the only time I tank nowadays is if my guild needs me as a raid tank.
