Extend Joyous Journeys

The Joyous Journeys buff has proven to be highly beneficial for both new and experienced players, and I believe it should be extended indefinitely. Leveling alts and gearing them up helps keep the game fresh and engaging, and it also helps to support the overall health of the game. The 1-80 leveling process can be time-consuming and intimidating, especially for newer players. By making the buff permanent, we can help new players reach max level more quickly and start experiencing end-game content, and we can also give current players the opportunity to try out new characters and playstyles. This is a win-win for everyone!

I’d have to agree that Joyous Journeys feels good. But I’m not sure if a permanent 50% buff to experience is a good idea… It seems drastic. With the buff alone, you will basically never be able to complete all the quests in a zone without them going gray, and with Heirloom gear, it happens much faster.

I think I’d rather see them buff the effect of the experience bonuses on Heirloom gear, or to implement an Heirloom tabard that gives an additional buff as people have been asking for, rather than seeing experience gains permanently buffed so much.

All that being said, I wouldn’t complain if it were made permanent. It does feel nice.

Agreed. Everyone’s main has been 80 for months. Let us level alts easily. I don’t like heirlooms, so I don’t want to mess with them.

Problem with heirlooms is you need to already have a max level character that youve spent time and effort farming up the currencies for the heirlooms on.

Doesnt help new players, or people who arent interested in doing max level content over and over repeatedly.

Its a good idea, it gives incentive to play alts, which in turn increases Classic and TBC playerbase for content.

I say leave it, its a great add to incite more game play!

Yep, I haven’t even done a dungeon or raid I will never get heirlooms…

Oh stop it. You can get a boost straight to level 70 that never existed before.

JJ should be like 300% nobody actually wants to level. If you don’t like it turn it off. People like the end game not the boring asz Classic 1-60.

Do it like PS, like 1x to 7x. The player gets to set thier own pace.

Limited time events that are popular are sometimes popular partially because they are limited time events.

WoW players really are spoiled! Personally, I absolutely LOVE the levelling experience in WoW. My only negative comment on the design of the game in this area is that it’s just too damn easy. But, this was obviously a very conscious design decision. Mind you, I come from a long background in EQ. For many WoW players, this was/is their first MMO. I’ve played most all the major MMOs since 1999. And, IMHO, WoW levelling is crazy fast, enjoyable, and super-easy.

All that said, there is a concept in play that I feel gets overlooked in all these types of conversations. The value of a thing is proportional to the difficulty in obtaining it. As a personal example, I still hold a tremendous amount of pride being the first Warrior in EQ to ding 65, and then again at 70. I’ve never derived any satisfaction in hitting the level cap with any of my characters in WoW…EVER.

So yea…I’m not on board with extending the ridiculous 50% exp bonus. You’re already playing THE easiest or at worst the second easiest (I’m looking at your FFXIV) MMO on the planet. If you’re too lazy to put in the time and effort to level, then it SHOULD take you proportionally longer to reach the level cap.

Sorry Not Sorry.

Agreed. If is was permanent, I would be playing my 80 knowing that I can level my alt with the bonus whenever I want.

Since it is a temporary event, I am just playing my alts.

Temporary xp buff = a lot more alt activity versus if buff was permanent.

Adding a temporary JJ buff near the end of a patch would be the way I would recommend they go about it.

My only counterpoint is that we do have Classic Era servers so for those that want to enjoy the slow paced levelling experience, they can do that on Classic Era.

If it aint quick and easy then we might have an actual game on our hands. Who wants that? Yuck.

Then turn it off. Everybody can have their own play experience.

You can literally turn it off and enjoy it at the “original” pace if you want from any inn keeper. What are you even complaining about?

Just how ma many do you have to level, to get that “leveling experience”… caution…opinions may vary

Nobody had been asking for this. People have been asking for an heirloom tabard that can optionally be used as a substitute for the gear heirlooms (the exp bonuses don’t stack). It’s a good idea for people who want and are ok with the modest exp bonus but don’t want to sacrifice gear progression. Stacking the bonuses would defeat the purpose since you are still forced to take the gear ones if you want to be on the same experience bonus playing field.

I was pretty excited when I heard about JJ a couple weeks ago. I hate leveling and it’s been deterring me from leveling my alt up from 70. Even with JJ and heirloom gear + fully rested, I wasn’t able to get my alt past 75 before I gave up. Leveling in this game is just a horrible experience, and making it go a bit faster just doesn’t make it any more bearable.
