Sure they have, but they have also been boosting players levels (albeit not as effectively).
My stance is that buying content (and effectively gear) is worse than levelling as you are purchasing something that can already be done easily.
I’m not sure how you can have such a vendetta against buying levels but not comparably buying content.
Well with how titanforging is an LFR gear could become better than heroic. (Though to be honest they should remove titanforging, and keep war forging to a max of 10 ilvl).
And my vendetta is thats its predatory. Twinks say its alot quicker but on average it saves 1 hour.
Some sources seem to suggest you can level from 110 - 120 in about 2 hours by performing Freehold runs. If this is the case then it can be considerably faster than levelling to 120 in a standard fashion.
TFing at least isn’t a guarantee, however I agree needs limitations.
For sure, but there’s like 6 threads going on now with people freaking out about this. Just another overblown reaction to something we don’t know, and as has been shown is not something to freak out over.
That was before the fixed it, before you could que, kill the first boss, then go to Harlan much like quick mythic x4 for the weekly, kill him and get a dungeon cleared exp. Was changed so the dungeon wouldn’t be complete until all bosses die.
Fair enough, didn’t realise they changed it.
Surely if that is the case people understand what they are getting themselves into before making final payment right?
Depends on the twink carrier, if they ask for it all (in gold) upfront and they fulfill the service to 120 they can’t get the gold back since they completed the service. Now if they scammed and left without completion you could create a ticket and get it back.
If its a half up front half after the service, and the twink isn’t paid, in theory they could write a ticket and get paid the gold since the service was fulfilled by the twink and the player owes the twink that remaining amount.
The other common thing is twinks selling 1 run per X gold where it breaks it up into individual runs and individual payments per run.
So if/when the player realizes the twink only save 1 hour of time to level they can’t get their gold back.
Which is why it needs to be desperately fixed, by increasing exp amounts across the board so its quicker. Or a veteran perk like FFXIV’s armory bonus. Where if you have a character at max all other characters get 100% increased exp until 110, then its 50% increased exp.
I believe that is in part what the supposed level squish aims to address. Even though it doesn’t address key reasons as to why the levelling system is currently bland.
I do like that suggestion from FFIV, it’s something that makes quite a bit of sense.
Honestly I loved the MoP design around reputation which would open up increased reputation gain after reaching a certain level on one character (although I believe it should have been exalted not revered, and automatically applied instead of requiring an item purchase).
I don’t know why they went away from that design…It’s not like you are getting anything new that you haven’t already got, so it’s not exactly game breaking.
I should have added the word “more” in there. Considering this is the only MMORPG that I’ve ever played where you’re punished for grouping with others.
Geebus, even Old Republic has always given bonus XP if you grouped with others.
I would maybe understand if this were some huge issue, but I don’t see it as one. Just some niche group thing.
