Evoker's Short Range

100% this.

Brother, are you okay? You’ve now literally told two people you want them to die in real life over their opinions on a video game topic that aren’t aligned with yours.

I don’t justify your personal attacks because this is a forum for talking about evoker as a class, not fulfilling whatever drives you to actually wish real life harm on people that are posting here. Your assumptions about me couldn’t be further from the truth, but I’ve given up on arguing with ignorance and will just block you, hope you get some therapy, and move on.

This is an irrelevant strawman. You’re not stupid, so stop acting like you are and use some common sense. No one in this entire thread except you has said a word about melee doing anything at 40 yards.

“Design intent” is not a reason, its an…intention. Obvously. One that I actually think is good. The problem, as usual with Blizzard, is the execution. A midrange skirmisher is a fine idea, but in order for it to work it has to actually fit within the game’s structure.

Right now evokers have significantly shorter range because…Blizzard said so. No one should need to explain why thats not a valid reason to do…anything really. Current preservation is the equivalent of making holy priest have 30 yards on Tuesday, and then when people inevitably show up in droves to ask why, you just cite “design intent.” If that sounds absolutely ridiculous, thats because it is.

Yet for some reason, here these people are arguing like maniacs defending a position no sane person would take, thinking they’re superior and acting like we are the ones being unreasonable. …The hell? Thats not having an opposing opinion, thats living in a reality you made up to fit your agenda.

As my high school critical thinking teacher (yup that’s a thing lol) would’ve said, “These people are living in a world of make believe!” And I guess Fauxstrasza is President of that world lol

Your whole melee “argument” is absolutely asinine. Evoker is a RANGED class, so we would like to be in RANGE of our target lol.

The melee fantasy inherently, inextricably has you up in melee range to complete the fantasy of each melee class.

With our gimped range, we’re forced to do the same ranged mechanics as every other ranged but we’re objectively hurt more when dealing with them because they usually require us to get out of range of our targets.

MID RANGE CLASS.

just like how melee is… melee.

we’re forced to do the same ranged mechanics as every other ranged

No, that’s a group issue. If you’re getting soaks on Nymue that are 40 yards away. That is WRONG. It is not your job.

It kinda is my job lol. We’re either ranged or not.

Explains how you’re not done with heroic.

Do you expect your melee to soak the mid range soaks that are out of their range, too?

If your comp on your only nymue kill had six people with 40yd that could soak and you still needed to be soaking outside your range, then your problem is your guild, not the class.

At a certain point you have to recognize that YOU and your antiquated mindset are the actual issue.

Nymue floor makes things disappear with the moss. And the light blue on green with a lime green dragon means I lose track of my toon more easily.

Defile (not D+D) from DK also makes it impossible to see floor mechanics since it covers them up.

Fyrakk room isn’t terrible but during “Destruction Reigns” the everything goes red orange and can make it difficult to see floor telegraph with screamers and Colossus pulses at the same time in P2.

Damn, yeah that’s annoying. Our guys have had a generally easier time than on a raid like Nathria for instance, since there’s at least SOME conflicting colors in this one.

I could see how nymue would very much suck, though. So many shades of one color essentially.

Exactly we get DPS mechanics not Ranged or Melee Mechanics.

More often than not I will legit stand behind the tank (dodging tank busters and cleaves) if I need to to hit the boss as Aug. Or stand in melee with melee. My raid has put a marker on me just so they can stalk my toon for the buffs because I’m all over the place in a fight. I never have mobility or range issues on bosses.

I spend more time baiting or being a “seed runner” due to the high mobility of the class and my dodge skills. And then I just Weyrnstone the Tank or a melee and I’m back into the fight easy. Use what we have and be grateful we have it. Show everyone else why evokers are awesome and how the underrated talents actually can shine in boss fights.

So thought occured: I wonder in the Tindall platforms are less than 100 yards. Bet you Weyrnstone can teleport us. Will report back later.

Could choose not to be a green dragon.

Raid prog has no bearing in this discussion, and even if it did, you don’t get to criticize someone’s prog while posting on a classic character.

To be fair, if his RL is legit requiring evos to soak outside their range, that IS going to create prog issues because that RL doesn’t understand the game.

Conversely, if he’s stubbornly choosing to soak out of his range for this bizarre “ranged is ranged” fixation, decisions like that are likely also affecting performance on a large scale.

it is literally just a reverse hunter deadzone… which everyone also hated- and blizzard removed.

not even close

then you fail at basic logic

Or you fail at understanding what the dead zone actually was

you offer no explanation.

The other ranged specs can nuke at a distance and exploit the distance or zone where evokers cannot attack back, just like any class could run inside the hunters zone where the hunter could not attack back. It is not fun and there is no point.
