The argument is that if you give melee specs 40 yard range, they’ll do more than they do now.
It’s not that specs that have 40 yard range should be topping the charts.
Okay, so if you gave all ranged an extra 10 yards, up to 50 yards total, would that increase dmg? No, it wouldn’t, because you would still have ranged only mechanics that would force ranged to move.
Nor would it increase dmg by x%.
Yes it would increase damage, by some amount.
Same if you have two rogues, one with 40 yard range, and one without.

Take the fyrakk fight for example. That room is massive. More range = more uptime.
It’s not. It’s pretty small actually and the only time he’s un-targetable is when he’s un-targetable for everyone (changes between dragon and humanoid forms).

Yes, it is easier if you have 50 yards to position yourself as opposed to only 40.

That’s not a valid argument. Take ATDH for example. In every fight, if you have 40 yards or even 50 yards you’re never far enough away from the action that you actively miss out on boss uptime.
Let’s take Larodar for example. He literally incinerates part of the room that you can never get back outside of the seed’s range. That’s a positive for Evoker right? Controlled amount of space. If I have 40 yards though, my uptime as any caster - besides Evoker - is on par with other casters if I’m doing the seed.
As an Evoker, I’m disproportionately effected compared to EVERY OTHER CASTER - if I’m doing the seed. Devoker has some solid instant cast abilities so mobility isn’t even the real issue. Range is. If I had at least 40 yards, like everyone else, then I could hit the boss as much as everyone else. But right now we’re gimped. We’re in between ranged and melee and encounters aren’t really made with us mind.
Oh, and before I forget again; Evoker's Range
Don’t compare evoker to range, compared them to melee with a slight edge.
