Druidism is a religion, not a consequence of genetic engineering tho.
I still don’t see why druids can’t “learn” other animal forms by selecting one in the wild like a hunter and preforming some ritual or spell to learn how to take on it’s shape.

What’s the issue with two specs being locked to a form? There’s precedent. (And true it’s a race, not a form.)
That is the worst attempt at a comparison I’ve seen in a while.
Comparing a spec and form to a race is like comparing a watermelon to a frozen t-bone steak… there is no correlation.
I would never choose the dracthyr over another race, which is why the visage glyph is a great idea, it allows people who loath Dracthyr to play Evoker without disliking the way their character looks.
You are locked to two different forms with two different specs as druid.

Specs require you to look like X.

(It just so happens, that it’s also the basis of a race.)

Locked? No. I can switch out at any time… I can also change specs, plus the moonkin glyph that doesn’t make you use chicken form… then resto I can just see my little night elf.
I know why you don’t see the issue… 
I don’t play DH and Elves are incredibly popular, while being visually appealing to most players.
Druid shapeshifting = cool.
Dracthyr = gross.
You too can switch to visage at any time as an evoker.

We want an actual glyph that permanently keeps us out of the form, I know that’s a tough thing to grasp, you don’t need to use it if you don’t want.

You asked a question, I answered it.
You can shift into visage in combat.
The idea that something should have an option to become X because some people don’t want to look like Y sets a bad precedent.
You can like it if you want, people should have the choice.
The race is clearly controversial in it’s design, the easiest fix is letting people choose.
You lose nothing by letting me hide the dragon form, and i lose nothing by you staying in that form if you wish.

No, the “fix” is to travel back in time, and never conceive of the idea of visage or rather, do nothing.
Some people aren’t picking the dragon to play a dragon. They’re forced to be a dragon because they want to play the class.

Most of the moves would not make sense in visage form, such as breath attacks, or beep breath,

We don’t play evoker because we want to be an ugly dracthyr… the class is locked behind the race. If we could play evoker and not be Dracthyr there’d be no complaints.
