I hate how nearly every weapon clips into their wings when seathed. You’re forced to wear a backpack on your visage form to hide the weapon.
Wait thats a way to fix it? Omg that’s so much better then swapping in and out of visage
But that’s a bug originally it was hidden but apparently around a month ago it started appearing and Blizzard still hasn’t fixed it because they’re too busy nerfing Preservation Evoker and pretending Devastation doesn’t exist.
Yes. The Tuskarr backpack hides weapons. It sometimes bugs after cutscenes, so you have to switch to visage and back to re-hide it.
I don’t think it’s wishful thinking. The storyline is leading up to it and he only said 10.1. I never expected it for 10.1 anyway as there’s still more story to go. I fully expect the .5 or .7 patch to have it.
I do kinda lean that way myself, my most played characters tend to be melee. I also think the visage form should have included all the races like dragons do. Odd to restrict it if they’re wanting us to have the dragon experience.
I agree nerf DH!
A new spec is definitely not going to drop in a halfway patch. Like what was said here:
It’s not something like adding new race/class combos, or a zone like the Forbidden Reach that’s just recycled assets. It’s one of the things the game’s meta is built around, and it would be pretty irresponsible to introduce such a thing and then you can only play it for half or a quarter of a season before the next one begins.
I feel like giving evokers a third spec before dh would be a rude move. But it would make sense given that we are in Dragonflight, the expansion where evokers are introduced.
that’s the best time to drop it. Since it’s not been on the ptr, it’s either coming later, or it’ll be added to live and updated via hot fixes. This isn’t something you’d do for 10.1, it’s something you’d do for 10.1.7.
Dataminers have already been showing us stuff that supports it that’s part of the upcoming story.
A “halfway” patch is what makes the most sense.
Seems we dracthyr are getting shafted again, not even any news about new visage forms either which means I’m stuck with the ugly elf or changing to an uglier human V_V …think I’ll just stay goofy dragon full time. As for the third spec they may of changed their mind about it after everyone basically flamed and got upset it was a support spec rather than tank spec. Always a chance it’ll be a thing after the big content patch though…
A major patch is for the start of a new season with new zones, dungeons, raids, major gameplay systems, etc. x.x.5 and x.x.7 patches are for bug fixes and side content to keep people occupied once they’ve gotten AotC/CE, KSM/KSH, Elite, or did as many WQs as they could, not for adding an entire missing chunk of an existing class. A new spec is something they’re going to boldly advertise as a major feature of a new season, not something they’ll shove into the tail end of the season with some tier set bonus thrown together at the last minute because all the effort went into designing next season’s bonus. Contrast the Ret rework, which was added in 10.0.7 instead of 10.1 because the spec was in such a sorry state that they couldn’t afford to.
There was just no way Dracthyr would be getting a whole new spec mid expansion. We knew it was speculation at best from the beginning, but people ran with it and set themselves up for disappointment. Not to mention, if they were to get a 3rd spec before Demon Hunter, there would be so much salt. Not that that’s a good reason for it, but if you’re going to give a class with 2 specs a 3rd, give love to the one that’s been around for a lot longer.
I’d actually much rather see some specs get a 4th spec like Druid as Ion mentioned like Druid getting Guardian. Yes, they already had tank built into feral, so it made sense. But I sure wouldn’t mind seeing a few other classes getting a tank or heal spec added. Shaman would be an easy one to give tank to. Maybe a Mage healing spec? Also, I might be biased, but I’d love to see a Rogue Tank spec too.
They could be doing it for 10.2, but I fully expect it during one of the mid patches.
It’s what makes the most sense.
New season and raids is exactly why they wouldn’t be dropping it then, especially if it’s not fully tested.
They could be planning it more as a surprise and then it makes even more sense to do it at the end of a raid or season via the .7 patch.
shrugs We’ll have to wait and see. The only thing we seem to know for sure is it’s not for 10.1, and I never expected it would be.
Sure, I thought the same until the in-game story started pointing toward it.
It’d be cool, but I’m not even sure what’d make sense.
I’ve thought one that focused on staying the demon form the whole time like Illidan does would be pretty cool, especially if they accompanied it with customization for the demon form.
Wasn’t it just datamining? Unless there was something I’ve missed in game about it.
I think they could easily make a ranged DPS DH spec. I don’t think it fits but having it be physical would be best since right now it’s just Hunter. If only DH was similar to Diablo’s DH they could dual-wield crossbows. But I realize that’s a pipe dream lol.
All the recent story stuff with Ebonhorn, Emberthal, and Adamanthia. The storyline is being continued and all leading up to it.
Ranged would be kinda neat, I can’t think really of any basis for it in the existing demon hunter lore, but they could always come up with something.
I have wished it was possible to stay as the demon form, and customization would be neat.
I still think two-hand ranged weapons that just visually appear as a pair of hand crossbows or pistols etc would be pretty neat for hunters too.
I guess I missed it. Though to be honest I’ve been doing so much M+ lately nothing else is sticking in my dumb brain.
A perma meta form would be super cool, I agree. As for the lore reasons, we’d need to revisit Illidan! Sounds cool.
This is called reading far too hard between lines and making a conclusion based entirely on speculation. xD

People need to remember he is a lawyer
actually he’s a game director. he was a lawyer
There’d have been a ton of hyping it up from official sources if they were gonna put it in. For now, teases/hints of it being possible work if they want to build onto it, or just give it to NPCs.
It does hurt that the Forbidden Reach NPC that accompanies you with one of the quests is Earth-themed and clearly using black dragon magic defensively…

making a conclusion based entirely on speculation.
This is not speculation.
Again, go watch it. He is WAY too careful to avoid saying something of the nature “This was something we originally planned to do with evokers, but early in development decided against it.” The way he talks is how lawyers and politicians fool people by saying true things in a careful way to manipulate.
He is very SPECIFIC, DIRECT, and BRIEF when answering the the question if this is part of the upcoming patch. “There is definitely no 3rd spec in 10.1.” The “10.1” part is the tell. A normal answer would be “We have no plans at this time for a 3rd spec.”
He then shifts and goes on a long answer about datamining in general, and never circles back to say “We have no plans for evoker spec changes.” He instead leaves that door open by saying “Anything is possible down the line,” so to step on the follow up question “What about a future patch?” with a VAGUE answer.
They get these questions in advance, this was a careful answer. Especially for him. Sure this could still get cut, but he tried way too hard to avoid saying it has already been cut.
Lets count how many times blizzard has released a new spec during an expansion lets see…that would be zero times unless if they did that to Druids back in the day which honestly it’s Druids so they get all of the cool crap.
