evokers need a third spec.

Yes there were mortals around when they were created and before they went to sleep, how else could they be part mortal? They wern’t made and put straight to sleep right away either they fought against primalist before that happened. Oh and Drakonids also existed at that time and likely were using weapons. There was plenty of time for the non-evokers to learn.

CLASS evoker is a class not a race, every race that has been added to the game could be ranged.

to my understanding they were magically created by Deathwing as an elite army to fight along his dragon flight and then pretty much put straight to sleep. Not 100% sure im sure more details will come out but all that is side discussion. At the end of the day why shouldn’t evokers get a third spec and even more specifically why shouldn’t that spec be the best most obvious choice of a intellect using caster based tank
imagine a dragon with massive armor ugh it could’ve been so cool.

As to your question the why is that Ion has said they can’t wrap their heads around a caster tank and think its a dumb idea. Paraphrasing of course.

i mean there’s a reason why shaman / lock tank wasn’t a thing and it sucks but they just don’t want a caster tank
I get they said that which is the whole point of this discussion. Since they have said that people have been playing the evoker and a good portion of them wish it could tank. Its something that can work and feels right which is what we really want to relay to them. They are listening, is it a long shot? yeah of course but it is a possibility that if enough people ask and give good reasons why then the developers will give us what we want as a community. Right now a tank spec to this class is a shared want amongst many but different fantasy/playstyles. They can make it work if we convince them to.
Side note: DF was in development way in advance along side multiple other possible expansions, just like how they are working on more than one expansion right now. When DF was announced it was after months of community vocalization of a dragon themed expansion being wanted.
The other issue is like I said to keldor about drakonids, unless they are already secretly building a tank spec it’s not happening in 2 months, which means it’s not likely to happen in DF which mean less chance of it happening at all until the next “dragon” xpac. Compared to adding at minimum warrior to the class which could be pulled of before release.
so i actually touched up on this earlier, there are builds and iterations already in place developed and fan made. I also touched up on dev time and no delay scenarios as well as mechanics and class alterations (which were almost non existent)

Just to correct you there. Dracthyr evoker were created by an uncorrupted Neltharion.
They are supposed to be the ultimate soldier wielding the magic of the 5 dragonflights and mortal essence.
They fought the primalists for a short while (probably some years) and were put to sleep as the dragon isles were hidden.
There is no precedent of a melee int user.
Like why isn’t Paladin an Int tank? Holy spells and abilities and all that.
As explained in my prev post IF they get a melee/tank spec it will very likely be Agi based.
The most voices I hear is about adding more classes to the race and let Evoker as it is.

Thanks for supporting my earlier point which i was referencing here that maybe over time adding classes to dracthyr as they learn from fighting along mortal races is a great idea. Other than that so far over and over again everything you say against evoker caster tanks is just plain dumb with flawed logic or double standards and blind confirmation bias. Ill be glad to respond to you every time though 
At one point pallys actually benefited from intellect and strength but that was changed to make gearing easier. Also their fantasy is using light magic and mele weapons sooooo…

Dracthyr as a race should be open to other classes.
I would play a Monk dracthyr immediately.
They should learn from us to adapt in this for them unknown world.
But evoker is meant to be a caster DD/heal and that is all what it should be.
Why do we need to hybridify another class…
And what makes you think Evoker wouldn’t be using melee weapons?
as if healing and dpsing isnt a hybrid XD. What blizzard made and what fans want dont always align hence the forum discussions to convince them of what we doo want. Evoker Tanks
Where did i specifically say they wouldnt? theyd be firebreathing, casting, tail smashing, or doing whatever the heck spells they do actually get to tank. I don’t personally care the type of weapons they’ll be allowed to equip
This makes more sense, since all there is to being a warrior is being able to hold a weapon…
It won’t make sense depending how the class is made.
And in this case this class is 100% not designed to be a tank, and designing a spec to do that would make the class to have to be redesigned. Not to mention ranged tanks don’t work in this game.
Plenty of races existed back then, and apparently they even fought a few battles.
Class i agree with, race should gave more classes or otherwise it might as well not exist as a race.

Evoker is a true caster class, it doesn’t need a tank spec… they’ll probably unlock the race to other class eventually though.

hence the discussion of designing a tank spec >.> but no it wouldn’t have to be completely redesigned at all. Range tank, agreed hard sell, caster tank with mid range capabilities is a very plausible theme to elaborate on for the evoker tank spec and it does fit for what they really are…dragons.
