Iirc that was while Blizzard was still a private company not owned by Activision/Microsoft. Since then, Blizzard has been beholden to funding and deadlines at the parent companies discretion and the consequences of that has been apparent for years now
Oh definitely, that was way before the merger.
i want there to NOT be bugs in the FIRST PLACE let alone fixed “all at the same time”… is that too much to ask for in 2024? when it was possible in the past? what happened? why is it so much harder for them now? is it because they don’t hire based on skill and only hire based on a check list? most likely.
Yes, games now are incredibly complex and gamers have conditioned themselves to find and exploit anything and everything they can in a game to gain an advantage.
There’s actually an over abundance of toxic positivity about this game.
Like just in these forums alone, mention something that is obviously a negative for the game and you’ll have the same 10 boot-licking clowns coming in with what they think are clever versions of “works fine for me” “that’s not an issue”, “you’ll complain about anything” etc.
I mean look at the game lol, it’s to be complained about, which is why subs are in the toilet. It’s healthier to have people complain about a service than it is to have them quietly leave just sayin’.
We all want it, but there isn’t a game, a house, a car, or anything else on this planet that is perfect from start to finish. So maybe a bit less entitlement and a bit more reality check with some empathy. Plus, that lock is still 70, and there is nothing perfect about that.
We should revert the level cap to 69.
Mega corp apologist are a real thing, and this proves it.
“How dare you paying customers ask for a polished game that you paid $60 for and a monthly subscription of $15, the billion dollar corporation is just an indie company!!”
Not at all what was said but thanks for the complimentary strawman.
Full confession: I read your opening and skipped all 129 posts in between, so I have no idea if you’ve had a come to Jesus moment between now and then, but–
The only time Blizzard has EVER expediently fixed bugs is when they affect the bottom line, or benefit the players to such a degree that it saves those players significant time on a given chore.
You have had bugs in the game that have persisted across multiple expansions, and they are never addressed because they ether slow player progress, or Blizzard simply cannot be bothered.
The fact is, fixing bugs does not make money. It is not profitable. So, they keep turning out broken patch, after broken patch, letting those bugs compound for years at a time. It is both gluttonous and lazy of them to do so, and I have zero sympathy for them.
So then I guess the question is why do you continue to fuel their machine? I’m not one to actually believe voting with your wallet works but I know others do.
This game is not about raiding, or m+, or pvp. It is about people; the ones you love and the ones you hate. The simple fact is, this game could be in a “dead” state with zero updates, and nothing would change about this-- until those people stopped playing.
I just want to play the game, without getting stuck, dc’ed or phased out of the group.
This is the 20th Anniversary, not their 1st rodeo, they’ve had more free passes than a little bit, sometimes you have to be accountable to your customers.
That said, Blizz always release untested, buggy content, this is sadly not a new thing.
Oh, please. There are bugs that have existed for years now that still aren’t fixed. Patience ran out many xpacs ago. At this point, I’m tired of being the QA and playing World of Bugcraft.
There will always be elevator boss at thunderbluff. One of wow’s deadliest bosses lol.
Same behavior in the Rogue and PTR forums. The mask has fallen off.
They have always had a “fix it later” attitude and now that they are understaffed it’s biting them in the back side.
They are not listening to their unpaid testers and clearly not testing things to the extent they should be. They refuse to make restoration for data losses from bugs that should have been caught in testing, The same bugs are popping up again and again over the years, often in slightly different contexts which shows they are making ad hoc fixes rather than looking into the underlying causes. And they are still intending to make changes to existing systems. Watch your personal banks and old reputations as they perform their back alley surgeries on those systems.
I just figure bugs are features at this point given how many have been present for 15+ years…
There’s only one bug I want fixed, and it’s this one because it’s pretty shabby for any purchase made by a player to result in this. The lack of communication, and the fact that GMs just drop me into a “Please Hold” queue, which changes the wait time from 1 hour to “Unavailable” just further adds to the discontent. No GM yet has explained to me yet ‘how’ this happened, ‘why’ it happened, or ‘when’ it’ll be fixed. It’s been very tight lipped, and I’ve got 49 screenshots of the interactions now for my records.
Either way, because I bought a name change that decided not to function correctly I find myself in a situation where I wonder nearly a month after it happened on Oct. 12th if I am going to lose my Shaman a second time (as this happened once before).
Posting it so people can be informed, and also avoid being in the same untenable situation.
We’re months in and there are at least as many bugs now as when we started.
I’m not talking about edge cases that would be unreasonable to find and fix before release. I’m talking about audio bugs, clipping in dawnbreaker, quests not resetting, absolutely reasonable to expect to be working on launch let alone two months in. Today I logged into my 6th alt and was able to get the “20 year anniversary” achievement, didn’t trigger any other characters I’ve been playing since the event started. They just had to turn off currency transfers because of who knows what , warband upgrades had to be turned off for a while, the list goes on. This is aside from massive balance issues that come from lack of playtesting (think leveling process at launch, or delves being harder with 2 people than 1 for a couple of weeks)
I’ve had a little patience, this goes beyond that, don’t white knight this. TWW has been fun and done quite a few things that improve qol that I really appreciate, but that doesn’t excuse the sloppy execution.
