Everyone that is for the ILvL Squish

Have they actually committed to the squish? I thought it was just an idea they were floating. Maybe they still have time to “listen to the community.”

Again. Lol.

I came to this post and see you have twisted my words, anyone can quote part of a paragraph out of context. You are putting words into my mouth as well. I never said more bosses means higher item level. Try some reading comprehension

Just going to chock up your entire post to baby having a tantrum.

Instead of insulting people for having differing opinions try making actual arguments for your own side. I have yet to see you do that.

Am I the only one amused that your posting this from a DH charcter?

Having a total of 5 bosses that are viable for months is lazy and less rewarding.

They can just as easily abbreviate the time spent on the ToC patch if it’s clear that the content is stale for the majority of people raiding. Messing with gear progression/raiding for the entire xpac is the least intuitive way to address it

I don’t think that’s a bad solution but it does kinda cuck the pvp season to do that.

Plus personally I think ulduar being viable longer is fine and a good change, I think TOC will still be the best raid to run and ulduar probably won’t even be required once it comes out. Togc loot will still be the best gear in the game.

but instead we are going to get an INSANE ilvl bump when ICC comes out…How’s this any better?

Icc also gets squished

You can chalk it up however you want. Too bad it’s factually incorrect. You find facts insulting? Maybe change yourself.

Are you trying to say that you won’t be able to progress with a small item squish ? Are we still talking about WOTLK raiding content ?

5-10% less stats won’t prevent you to progress.

You’re not making sense

No, that’s not what I’m saying at all. I’m saying that forcing a raid to span across another content cycle by making the difference in gear quality lesser changes how raid week looks for average raiders and reshapes the meta as number-crunching re-determines what scaled-down classes look like.

Its not needed, they literally changed the lockouts so we wouldn’t be running too many raids per week to benefit from gear and this would defeat the purpose of them doing that. They might as well revert that change if they are going to squish.

Because instead of doing 10/25 man heroic and normal you’re going to do heroic and normal of current content ontop of heroic from previous content.

Except the squish in retail completely wiped the relevance of all content that came before its current expansion while this one seeks to extend the life of one of the most beloved raid tiers and prevent burnout in P3.

If you can’t tell the difference you probably buy produce in the bread isle at the grocery store.

They’re doing much more than that. They’ve also proposed squishing PvP gear, and then squishing ICC gear so its not such a massive jump from ToC. Its basically a squish for the last half of the game.

What about that : Ulduar boss give 2x of the latest available emblems and Naxxramas 1x per boss + remove emblems from the latest available raid.

They won’t touch the gear while keeping an incent to do previous raid content. Like Karazhan.

Getting people into old content shouldn’t be an axis to optimize along. Sure, there’s something to be said about not bricking content as soon as the next patch is here, but at the same time, letting players breathe and not feel incentivized to run four different raids a week to maximize their total rewards has value.

Players who want to ensure they’re as geared as possible will run raids that give them a chance to upgrade gear. If there’s a piece or two from TOC that’s better than what they have, they can go back to it while ICC is the current raid. If a player just wants to run ICC, they’re not going to run an older raid to upgrade maybe the one or two spots that could be upgraded by running something old.

I don’t see much value for players to extend content cycles and make the next progression less meaningful. Old content is fine, but making it so that it stays part of the weekly rotation out of practicality is just blah. Stretching out content past its lifecycle is a Blizzard priority, not a player one.

First, I don’t think there are very many people for the squish.

Second, I wish people would stop with “if you want X go to retail”. It a dumb argument every time someone makes it.

If changes make WotLK less of a faceroll than it originally was, then go for it.

I’ll play the game because it’s fun and I don’t feel the need to cry about some number changes ¯_(ツ)_/¯ thank you though. It’s not a big deal
