Persistence should be a path to improvement, but people who just want to kill one hard thing to get sweet rewards often want to keep all the rewards to themselves.
OMG, every casual who wants any gear should just choose to be a mythic raider! The solution is so simple! And you’re going to accept them onto your raiding team, right?

No, I agree to give non raiders, solo players equal gear.
But that then the solo challenge needs to be comparably hard.
Much harder actually, to offset not having to play along with other people.
And 99% of the people who would want that won’t end up doing it because it’d require effort

If you can’t put in effort, you don’t get rewards. Games work like that.

You’re probably right.
But that’s the only way I’d imagine it be fair.
So what you’re saying is only elite players should get gear. And everybody else should quit the game and stop paying for your content development.

No, you can get gear. Just not as good gear for obvious reasons.
Show me where all gear progression has been kept from anyone but elitist mythic raiders in the past 15 years.
You can also progress in high end pvp and high end mythic plus.
Speaking lounge-in-cheek, one would almost think that Mythic raiders would prefer lower rated gear given their desire for the ultimate challenge (give them a tabard or a title to flaunt). For casuals, who obviously need everything they can get to help them would get the best gear in the game.

Oh. Now you’re backtracking. Before you said raid or die, now you’re walking it back. Only a little, because you have to pretend to tolerate the players you wouldn’t dream of playing with under any circumstances.
If you had to pay for your own content development you’d probably quit.

I just got my cloak on one of my other alts and am currently doing LFR for gear and also grinding out to remove whatever corruptions I want. Also did a bit of mythic+ dungeoning earlier on in the xpac which doesn’t require you to be “elite” until the higher tiers.
Ah. I see. You’re a raider’s alt posing as a casual now.
