Everyone should have a path to progress to max ilvl gear, EVERYONE!

Exactly this! They want hand-out gear to go into the harder content that they try over and over to state “they don’t want any part of”.

Truth is, as all raid-minded WoW players know, those casuals just want to be carried.

I came back about two months ago and have 2 (new) characters at 460+ within that 2 months. That shouldn’t even be possible. One of the characters I literally did nothing but my weekly m+ dungeons (which by the way, for OP, I was able to jump into the same day I hit lvl 120 thanks to all of the ridiculous shortcuts in this game ATM).

No apparently the guy has to do so much hard work clearing warfronts for Heroic gear… or doing a weekly which requires 4 normal dungeons for raid loot…

This games a joke now a days lmfao

Oh man, we are getting to the point where Ralph aka M+ hardcore rider is calling for more option to casual players.

I think people that play wow, for a week or 10+ years, both can say, this game needs huge time investment.

With that said. Why the F would we want more gear options ?
Weill I would be happy to just see more different raids, not just 6-8 but like 10-15.
With like 15-20 bosses inside.

But neh, you prefer that everything stay same, plus, some litle extra grind for mythic gear lvl that some, ‘ULTRA CASUALS’ can grind solo in their own time.

I say no!

Cos this logic brought us, WQ with a fkn pets battels to get, reputation, resources, currency.

I fkn hate pats, there is game called pokemons, way better then this fkn pets.

But I feel you, you want more ppl playing this game. So do I and rest people.
But blizzard, likes to experiment, they throw sht in fan, and see what happens. Where they have forum with people that brings ideas, solutions and they just ignore it.

I hate Blizzard, hate wow, but its only one game where i can chill and troll in LFR with ninja pulls, making some epic wipes on trash or boss fights. I amm getting really good at it, even can manage to kick OT mid fight, cos i dont like his positioning. its just awesome.

Reading this OP’s post disintegrated one of my brain lobes. Lol how this game “isn’t” already catering to him is beyond me…

Why devalue something that people put the time and effort to attain. Also if you aren’t farming the hardest content in the game why do you need the best gear in the game??

I fail to see the logic behind this arguement.

Sorry about your condition but that is a personal health issue, what does that have to do with the design philosophy of the game?

I actually do agree with you because it shows that the developer has thought about various ways that suits everyone. Then again I’m that player that doesn’t like how m+ works and believes that raiding should be the “end-game”. FIGHT ME. No, just kidding. I think as time goes on and wow continues to cough evolve, we’ll see many things changed for better or worse.

It’s not even socialism. You want something in life, you work for it. Somethings you have to work harder for than others.

The problem is generations of kids are now having their parents mow through any problem they have and give them cell phones at the age of 6 so we have a population of gamers that:

  1. Have never been told “no” when they cry “BUT I WANT IT!”
  2. Have never had to work for anything.

They can’t possibly comprehend that a system would be in-place in their lives where they don’t get rewarded just for showing up.

Sorry … if your “end game content” is open world questing and heroic dungeons then that’s the level of reward you deserve. You don’t deserve better than that because you did nothing to deserve it.

Wow Ralph, you really hit the nail on the head. You clearly pointed out exactly how many casual and returning players are feeling.

In my view, I came back to WoW after 2 years. It’s always been a back and forward relationship. I started playing again about 3 weeks ago. Since then I’ve gotten 2 characters to 450 from doing LFR, Mythic 0’s and world bosses weekly. It really didn’t take long to hit 450 at all, maybe about a week of playing. You really see holes in the system at this point. There is a huge gap in gear with corruption and ilvl from 450-480. Granted, there are people who have been playing for the past 2 years since bfa dropped non-stop. You people deserve to be high ilvl and all the perks that comes with it. Yet for some of us who came back to the game late or are casual. 450 seems to be a hardstop. Unless someone carries us through higher level Mythics or perhaps we take many weeks just slowly pushing through all the Mythic keys hoping for an upgrade.

The hole in the system are this progression with a huge margin between the ilvls. Casuals have hard times getting into Normal Raids, Heroic Raids and also higher level Mythic Keys. Mainly because the veteran players aren’t going to accept us into their groups. (unless we get lucky with a guild that actually talks to each other) Although this system is beneficial at first glance to those who played from the beginning and do the highest level of content it is bad for WoW overall.

The game is nearly unplayable for casuals or returning players such as myself because we don’t have the tools necessary to fill such a large gear gap. I cannot easily get into Mythics nor raids. So as long as I log in my progression is frozen. This pretty much turns WoW into a deadzone as many casuals will just give up and play other games. This game would really be no fun if it only had elite players running around.

At least create game modes that match us to others with similar Ilvl’s. PvP for example. What sense does it make to have PvP so unbalanced that you have those veteran elite players who can go into arena or bgs and dominate the vast majority of casual players. To the point where many of us don’t even want to go into PvP anymore. Seriously, what reason would we go into PvP? The gear is pretty much same ilvl as lfr and we are 100% going to get smacked, everytime. At the very least you can add a PvP game mode that is truly balanced were corruption didn’t come into play and ilvl didn’t matter. Also what is the purpose of having PvP if it doesn’t provide decent upgrades? PvP could be PERFECT, if BLIZZ would maybe play it for a few days and understand that people may just only want to PvP so the gear rewards should match, mythics, raids etc.

I truly hope that those elite veteran players don’t come to this post to bash it, but to upvote it. If you truly want WoW to be a good game, it starts with the player base. Making the game environment more “inclusive” (just like a corporation). Will only make everything better…for everyone.

None of this is relevant as of today though… Corruption gear is gone now and everything is getting scaled back.

You will need to find a new excuse.

A deaf Raiding guild just beat Mythic N’Zoth a week or so again. Let that sink in. You complain about other ways to gear and a Huge Deaf guild who cant even communicate vocally is doing it…

I am and have been a casual who has wanted to really get into gearing up further. Hit the dreaded ‘wall’ with ilvl using what raids were available to me outside of mythic and have since been in the position of “I don’t know how to even start this undertaking and at this point I’m to afraid to ask” :stuck_out_tongue:

I first got into WoW as a kid with nothing better to do and had a great time with making friends and being active in a tight-knit guild. Now, over a decade later I don’t really have the time to invest in building up those kinds of relationships (being that my time of course goes to my job and my family). So I don’t currently have a guild or WoW-exclusive friends to hit up and say ‘aye can you help me learn this?’ and the mythic-advertised guilds I’ve tried have usually been too hardcore for someone who’s still learning about it.

I agree with OP’s post that higher ilvl shouldn’t be gated through one method of play. Sure, don’t reward the SAME sets and styles but I’d like to have something to hold off people for a bit longer in battlegrounds anyway, since they’re another fun part of the game and a much-needed break from all the questing. I might not be the weakest link on the team but I know when I’m out-geared.

The player-mentor system in Shadowlands might be great for people like us too, now that I’m thinking about it. I’d assume if someone wants to be a mentor, they’d also be happy to help any level learn- so even though there won’t be universal gear progression, it already seems a little less daunting just knowing there’s someone identifiable we could spend some time asking about it.

And there we have it: You can just as easily work on your io score the same as the rest of us did to progress your character. Yes it takes time but why would someone playing the game for 2-3 weeks get a fast track over someone who’s played the entire expansion? They shouldn’t!

“Slowly pushing through all the mythic keys” … you mean actually playing the game like the rest of us did? Novel idea …

I see the word “carry” in there … I won’t comment cause I can’t afford a forum ban lol.

HAHA Minimum wage where I live is 14+ an hour. Most Burger flippers make that or 15 lol.

Umm, maybe we should be fast tracked so we can all play together?

Agreed. Then we can spend 47 days clearing 3 bosses in the new raid.

where do you live at?

The burger flippers round here get offered between 8-10 and i live in a ‘major city’

The current system works just fine and I am not a Mythic raider.

If you want to do repetitive content over and over to get Mythic gear as a reward, seems fair.

However, any normie can get a +15 done and at the same time, a normal guild would clear mythic you should have the same ilvl. Are the items exact, nope, but you are a normie so who cares your skill at that point would matter more.

Just my opinion…

Your problem is your own doing though.

I also didn’t know the dungeons when I first started running keys. However I pugged all the way from 0-2.2k rating in a single season.

At the end of the day you just have to apply and do the content. Whats the worst that happens? You don’t time the key and get 2 pieces, maybe someones diaper gets full and they say something. Just simply say “I am new and learning” and go on with your day.

The only way to learn is to try like anything else.

Edit: They also added into the game the community system. Where you can basically be in a guild with anyone from any server. This game can’t get much more inclusive. You just need to use the tools you have.
