I’m not opposed to challenging solo content like the mage tower in Legion. Something that solo players can take part in and if they’re skilled enough they can eventually obtain mythic raid equivalent gear. It would need a weekly cap of course.
I couldn’t agree more with you on this.
The idea that raids should have the highest item level is an out dated idea from Everquest, which was extremely unfriendly to solo and casual players.
If raids are fun, people will do them for that reason. Just like I continue to play battlegrounds all expansion even after I have all the gear I can get from that play. If you require higher item level gear in order to make people want to do raids, that just shows that the activity is not actually fun and is instead manipulative to the human psyche.
There are players who only play WOW to raid. They must consider raiding very fun indeed.
As opposed to you who demands the same, but with like 1% of the effort.
This idea is completely mental.
The desire for higher item level gear is NOT about need, it is about character progression, a core pillar of RPGs.
If higher level gear exists, it should be accessible. Being locked behind mythic+ raiding is not accessible as most people do not have the time or desire to schedule their lives around a video game.
The idea that the best gear should be locked behind raids is evolutionary baggage from the old and loooooong out-dated Everquest. There is absolutely zero excuse for it now day. If raiding were fun, let the players who enjoy it do it, they do not need special power just for them.
Too bad it’s forums aren’t more well liked so the FF stans could stay there
here we go again… “everyone gets a trophy” … damn gen z and millennials … constantly wanting EVERYTHING handed to them … if you want the best gear … go get it punk … if you cant … tough … life sucks … get over it … your parents should be ashamed
I had to login just to tell you how much i hate everything you’re talking about. THIS is what has ruined wow. If you want good gear, go get it and stop being bad. Otherwise shut up.
A DR is buying a new 740, the Walmart clerk would need to save for what, 10-12 years to get there?
That system exists now, in the next expansion you can get the old top tier easier.
Exactly this.
The entitlement of people who want the best the game has to offer with minimal effort reeks of millenials and gen Z.
Life has handed everything to them (or their parents have) and now that they’re being told “no” it’s just a stream of “waaaaaah but i want it so I should have it.”
If you’re a casual player you do not, I repeat NOT deserve the same ilvl gear that a mythic raider or even heroic or normal raider are getting. Thinking anything else is just entitlement.
I expect a flood of letters complaining from parents to ensue because that’s pretty much how the world is right now.
Guess what casuals: Bliz listened to the feedback from BfA and I applaud them. Want the best gear? Do the hardest content. It’s not rocket science.
Hardcore players can have their content. Only it should not take hundreds of hours played per month to get there. Its not healthy. Requiring literally no life to beat a MMO is pathetic, and feeds of the addiction of no lifers.
It should be illegal.
Since when is time + effort = reward an outdated idea?
And WoW, even at its “worst” for casual and solo players, was still pretty nice to them. And it’s been much, much, much, much nicer since. To the point where you almost don’t even need to play to get raid level gear.
Effort = gear for MMOs.
You have to find players to group up or you aren’t playing a MMO you are trying to play single player.
So raid Mythic
LOL. Who are you to dictate how much a person can play? Especially when Blizz made EZ content that you only have to play a few hours a month to complete?
Does he not know that the principle of a MMO is to waste people’s time so they give moar money??
You know what else is a core pillar of rpgs? Harder content gives better rewards. You don’t get gear progression in rpgs by repeating level 1 over and over again. It’s not rocket science.
My honest opinion:
Like a wage, the skill should fit the pay. Same with anything.
Gain skills.
Do harder dungeons/raids.
Get better rewards. It’s that simple.
I only did Mythic raiding for a couple of patches in Legion, mostly I am a AotC raider and the majority of the people who raid have busy IRL lives with many obligations as well.
This stigma that most raiders have no lives is hilarious and you saying that shows how little you know about the time and effort actually required to get halfway decent loot.
Most of the people who come on here and rage against “elitists” use the same sound bites and hyperbole.
It’s kind of laughable. Anything over the 30-60 min a night they play is considered “hardcore” and anyone who plays more than they do is ruining the game for them by wanting an effort = rewards metric in the game again.
Not sure why you need high ilvl gear for open world content. Getting squashed in open world by other players who worked for their gear? Turn off warmode then.
“But I want to play the game the way I want to and I want everyone else to just do what I want them to!” Sorry junior … unlike your parents, Bliz doesn’t think everything should be handed to you for another expansion like BfA.
Sadly, a lot of people “think” that simply being in the same place means they deserve the same rewards or compensation.
