Everyone should have a path to progress to max ilvl gear, EVERYONE!

No one was asking for voting rights, we are having a discussion. There is a difference.

I’m not crying. I’m laughing at the pathetic-ness of it and shaking my head that people feel entitled to get max gear by picking weeds for 50 hours a week just because the pay a sub.

And you’re not improving the game. You’re just making the game play the way you want it to. That’s not appreciated either.

It’s entirely pointless and provides no real benefit whatsoever? I don’t honestly care if Blizz gives Mythic raid gear to WQs or whatever, I just think it’s dumb.

I’ve been in 5s like that!

I don’t care what gear other people have. It doesn’t affect me. But what I would humbly submit is that those who progress their gear in this way not complain about raider iO. I ask this because for those pugging high keys (I do acknowledge groups/guilds are preferred here), going off of iLevel only - in an environment where that gear can be awarded based on time played - will make needing to identify experience level (iO) more helpful.

Honestly, I couldn’t care less about mythic gear. I’m a heroic raider, sometimes downing the first few mythic bosses. And that’s fine with me. But I can understand that other people have different goals. If I can get heroic gear in a couple weeks from raiding, why would I care if people can get the same gear from 2 months of easier content? I already had 2 months to stroke my epeen as the lesser beings ogled my heroic gear.

And this is a fair assessment. Although I do believe Blizzard should come out with their own way to track progress without the third party system, raider IO is a very good way to figure out who has and has not put in the time for the specific key you’d like to run.

the only thing unhealthy happening here is a certain someone trying to put others down to make themselves feel better. It is indicative of a fragile self esteem that relies on others’ opinion.

Is that what you get gear for? Seriously? So you can try to flex and feel better about yourself because numbers?

It is true, so I guess in the end we feel sorry for him, and happy for his achievements in game.

My god he’s joking. It is a joke.

Edit: Lol, it wasn’t a joke.

I’m not sure how you’d know that. That seems to have been his stance for the entire thread.

Edit: Which is why I asked for clarification before immediately going into full derision for deriving self-worth from a video game.

Sure, why not? Everyone likes to feel successful. But besides admiration, a higher IL gets me into other activities quicker. I get picked for M+. I get picked in raid PUGs. If I just did easier content, I would take a lot longer to be able to do those things. Getting gear faster will always have its benefits. So let other people get it later, what’s the big deal?

Just look at someone’s armory, it tells you the same information.

Well yes and no. That’s not why I raid, but you can’t tell me you don’t like knowing that your gear is better than average? That’s all I meant by that.

By getting gear outside of the normal progression path, you also miss player experience from doing that content. Basically, you’re screwing yourself and groups by not knowing what you’re doing.

You’re getting appropriate gear from that content anyway, your WQ rewards are entirely irrelevant for that.

Edit:

I only care that my gear is good enough for me to do the content I enjoy. That’s it.

But they can. They wait 6 months and they can get that heroic gear you earned from the previous tier.

everyone can learn to do some harder content that’s outside their wheelhouse

if you’re unwilling, you don’t get what it offers

Congrats for backing up the guy that proves my point.

I think you are misunderstanding me. I’m not talking about myself here. I am perfectly happy with the gear I get from heroic raiding. I am saying that there should be a path for non-raiders to get the same gear as me. It doesn’t bother me because I know that those people will not be able to get said gear as quickly as I did.
The point here is that higher difficulty still gets rewarded.
