It also cheapens the hard work that it took for hardcore players to get their high level gear. I am by necessity (Real Life Happens) a casual. not a low casual I have only been playing 10 years as of last month but I am enjoying hat I can do and might ry to approach mythics and a good Raiding guild when SL Drops and I get done with this cybersecurity class. I have a midterm on the 15th and Pre-patch drops on the 13th. Guess I am studying for a test between now and thursday evening. That being said, gear that helps you get content done relitively easy allows you to focus on the character and xmogs, and mounts, or pet battles (which I never do the pokimon thing). I can enjoy content in end game and exploring without thinking about leveling issues.
And so humble. Truly a role model we could all follow.
This thread is dumb. Iâm going to go have a more engaging conversation with my basement wall.
You know, those people with high ilvl, the mythic raids and ridiculous high keys they run often kick their butts.
Even with all that power they often fail because the content is ridiculous tough.
Itâs not all green and rosy on their side.
Indeed, being humble is overrated and falsely seen as a good trait because sometimes it is clear that some people are not on the same level, lying to yourself and others is pretty bad in an attempt to see yourself as humble, honesty is always a lot more useful and valuable.
The better gear you have the faster you kill stuff. That affects literally every player and is basically the point of gearing. Now that trash mobs scale with us that is more relevant than ever.
After a long day of work and not being able to play as many hours as other people, I feel like I should be able to have the same rewards. I just wanna log on for an hour or two each day if I have the time and be close to or as geared as the players who are playing the game.
Thatâs all I see.
Better gear to kill stuff quicker? I have alts that have only WQ gear and they kill everything super fast. I can pull a bunch of mobs and mow them down.
One reason this game is becoming worse is due to people wanting things but not wanting to do the things that requires them to have it.
WQ, M+, LFR, Normal, Heroic, Mythic. There are the paths, so you choose to pick one.
This isnât a single player game. You want better rewards? Try and make the time and donât be shy to talk to people in game and form a group for something.
Itâs not about not wanting people to have what you have. Itâs about trying, doing and earning. You donât walk into your job and do nothing, then expect to get paid, do you?
If you mean ilvl scale with players I was unaware of this and I shall add it to the list of things I hate in SL if true
This is not only wrong, itâs a very unhealthy view on life. It shows an extreme level of insecurity to want to exclude others like this.
You can have what I have You canât have MINE but you are welcome to get anything I have and I wonât care
No. no. No.
Iâll toss out a sample of scenarios in statements.
- I worked hard for this, you just walked in the door.
- 20 years experience and you expect it in one.
- It takes more than showing up, you actually have to do some work as well
- You will never have our contracts, or our contacts.
- When you know the people I know.
- There is value in exclusion, cause you definitely want to not be excluded.
- I built this.
To claim that time and effort, persistence and performance are not mountains to climb. Whether they be real or imagined is encouraging a perception that the effort, was not an effort.
That it is worthless, because there is no exclusion.
We cannot establish a system that requires participation, and then remove the reason for the actions.
Otherwise you dont have a reason to be there, to perform, to show up, to do.
insecurity and perception of self, and self worth. Mate! cheap shots.
Validation also requires exclusion.
Competition does this all the time.
youâd be better off arguing that raid difficulty was removed - erm, raids shut down, erm, find another game.
Competition is society, games imitate society, this is how it will always be.
It should not be the only path.
That is where the fallacy lies.
Forcing players to raid a good game does not make.
No one is asking for free gear though. Thatâs not what the OP asked for at all. He is saying there should be a progression path. So a way to EARN that same BIS top end gear, just by a different (and perhaps longer) path than Mythic Raiding/Mythic+15s/Ranked PvP. Why is asking for a DIFFERENT path (not free gear) so bad?
With the removal of WF/TF I predict a ton of casuals spamming the forums the entire expac complaining they have no way to progress their characters besides raiding, but have no time to raid.
You can get max level gear doing nothing but mythic+. Itâs called weekly chest.
Sadly shadowlands will be worse in that regard, m+ only gives a single mythic piece once a week and the only other way to get good mythic ilvl is mythic raiding which is currently 226 with 233 from last 2 bosses if i remember right, meanwhile max honor gear is a worthless 190
Its not and for the reckord (lol) I completely agree.
This game is not âdifficultâ Its not âhardâ it is just a massive time sink with a persistent requirement to rely on others.
Its balanced around people overgearing something or mechanical failings such as; didânt move fast enough, made the wrong choice, cognition events occurred too slowly.
Rarely do you have a situation where the individual is flooded by too many incoming events that all require swift decisions leading to the conceptual cognative âfumbleâ.
While issue recognition is a trained response system (you practice).
But it has a long, since forever, view that there is a easy to hard scale with content. A concept that is reinforced by social systems and the companies desire to monetise its product beyond the simple demand supply structure of game sales.
It would be suicidal to turn that boat around now. To simply break the claims of authority that the âhigh endâ have made since the games release seems to be something undoable without dropping the competitive secondary market nature of the entire ecosystem.
I may eat my hat on that concept in the future. But I doubt it.
Players get gear from the content they participate in, and that is how it should be. If all you do is WQ, that is perfectly fine, your character will become more powerful as you gear from WQ rewards. Same with LFR. Gear should represent your skill and effort put into the content you have completed.
If they donât plan on raiding then they have no need for raid gear. WF/TF has been gone for a while already and itâs been great, I havenât seen anyone complaining. Itâs what the community asked for.
Your raiding aint hard, if you need to gear for it.
Sorry your comment doesnât make sense to me. You canât complete a heroic raid with quest gear. Youâll need to progress through normal first and then into heroic to meet performance checks.
Sooo just remove progression from the game? This is a bad take.
