Just curious why this just came up when I tried to log in.
Everyone else get it as well?

Thanks. I was out all weekend and just logged in for the first time.
The social contract is just a dumbed down version of the actual terms of service. We used to have to regularly reaccept the ToS, which no one could be bothered to read. Now they spam us with the social contract, which I still can’t be bothered to read. It’s funny that anyone needs to be told what’s right and wrong. Bots bad. RMT bad. Cheating bad. Multiboxing bad. Be nice to ppl.
On a broader societal level, a social contract is an agreement between man and man; an agreement from what must result is what we call society.
Broadly speaking, we cede some of our individual rights, so in turn, others will cede theirs. This seems logical enough, if everyone could just go around shooting people they don’t like, it would be a jungle, and human life would be war of all against all. So in obeying laws, citizens remain free.
A social contract in WoW has become necessary due to how toxic, rude and mean people can get…especially in mythic+.
People haven’t realized yet that calling someone an “idiot” and they should go “uninstall the game” for not topping the percentile on a dps meter is not the best way to teach someone something.
But people are still toxic, rude, and mean. And those who are can’t even handle simple questions asked of them, or accepting thoughts they dislike.
Its like Mizzen. They just want you to know about specific things.
Unfortunately despite their best efforts, our parents have failed us in the West. But in fairness, I could also argue that government is also failing parents, caregivers, and careworkers. That’s of course another debate.
They must have sensed you were waining in socializing and needed to remind you. Blizz watching you
Where I’m at we had a massive change here so I wouldn’t doubt when I return there well be another waiting for me even though I signed it a few weeks ago.Thank you microsoft, comcast and google.
Yeah, I figured it was from Microsoft.
Essentially don’t be a stinky cheater/turd in game, no illegal stuffs.
Yeah, I’ve gotten 5 accounts banned this Xpack because of it.
LOL! Sorry, but that’s funny.
I was thinking about this thread the other day, had a bit more to say on the matter, and felt if I have something to say, say it now only 2 days later, any later than that, and I feel my post would count as a necro.
I actually support the social contract spam, as the fact is, I’ve dealt with many people in my time that would say things like “people are mean online, so you should get off the internet, trust me it will be better for your mental health!”
And to be quite frank, this has often been true, I would much sooner spend time with friends in real life, than online too much, but that’s all the more reason to remind people to be civil to each other online, don’t get me wrong I value my online privacy more than anyone on this forum, but at the same point, we need to make extra effort to treat each other with respect, as the last thing I want to see is future governments and generations deciding to ban everyone from the internet due to toxic behavior.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen this. OR It’s happened and I never noticed. OR I’m a perfect little angel and have no need to be reminded how to behave, but I find that hard to believe.
I think I have seen it three times since it was introduced. Don’t really know the frequency.
It can pop up randomly.
Self reflect? Holy snickerdoodles!
Yeah Nah I refuse to abide by the rules.
It ain’t hard to be nice to people.
Learned as a kid, “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say nothing at all”
Heck that was in BAMBI of all things… that came out in the what… 1940s?
If you’ve gotten I assume perma banned that many times… be nice or just don’t say anything!
Rules are meant to be borken -evil witch in Snow White probably
