I laughed at this a lot harder than i should’ve… >.>
Yeah, if we want multiple characters at the same power level we should be putting in the same amount of time to get them there. It’s just that prior to 8.2 that time requirement was a whole hell of a lot smaller. Now it’s even worse with the cloak tossed on top of essences.
Went from three “main” characters and a handful of alts at the beginning of BfA down to just one single character now.
According to blizz, regardless of player skill, you need to earn essences on every character.
I think the issue with the design is how stagnating it makes the game play for alts.
I just got my DK to 120. His neck is at lvl 61 and I haven’t even done the nazjatar quest line. Now I gotta do all that before I even have an essence to use.
And then I have to do the Visions of N’zoth questline.
It makes for bad game design when one system is so quick to move forward and another holds you back from continuing. That’s what this whole essences fiasco needs to fix.
when you add together getting the right gear, neck levels, cloak levels, and then all the seperate grinds for essences, its just a bit more than im interested in. lol. agreed.
Ok fair enough, it helps I’ll grant you that. If Demontune can admit he was wrong about lucid, I can admit I’m wrong Iris. However, I’ll stand by my opinion having rank 3 of anything isn’t going to make or break your dps
life force.
I played on my alt priest for about 4 hours yesterday just to get the cloak and 1 essence on him cause he’s super weak and can’t kill mobs as fast.
Blood of the enemy.
Same. And somehow Ion explaining that me not having fun is all part of his design philosophy does not actually make me have any more fun.
i dont think it has anything to do with making or breaking your dps. i can only assume a lot of people are like me and they look at their green essences or empty essence slot on their alts, and just sigh. its not about the dps difference, its about a kind of pseudo completionism. it bothers me to see empty or green essence slots. then, it bothers me that i have to go regrind reps or an old raid to take care of that problem. id rather just not.
Classic presented itself as a way to make a ton of money and kill a threat to their IP without negative PR.
So, hmm. I guess not really relevant unless there is a big something about essences that I’m missing?
Just looked at your heroic logs and rank 3 ain’t gonna help.

How is this any different ?
People want to play alts, see the barriers and just go on and play something else.
We’re potentially stuck with this for 9 months. How many people you think people will stay subbed if they are only playing their main.
Just looked at your heroic logs and rank 3 ain’t gonna help.
cool. can you do my main and not this alt? viletune area52 deathknight unholy same guild.
lmfao this man… Who cares what his logs are? Do you even have a clue how parsing even works? LOL you’re so delusional man. Deciding whether people sohuld get R3 essences based on logs.
If you can’t see the difference between an in game system and wanting to kill the private server community without coming off like the worlds biggest jerks then I hope this sentence helped to alleviate that.
Not everything in the game has to be restricted for it to not be a private server.

But private servers are still alive and healthy, Classic was a horrible attempt at representing vanilla.
