Considering there are trolls in the Horde, I strongly feel which tribe a troll belongs to is extremely relevant as far as racial tensions are concerned.
The Forsaken fought against the global threat known as “Scourge”.
The Eredar did not fight against the global threat known as “the Burning Legion”.
There is absolutely no reason to think there is a faction of Eredar just waiting to join the Horde or Alliance. It would be lazy and poor writing to once again just make up a lost faction we just so happened to never see.
Considering all the times demons have complete screwed over the races of the Horde in very very major ways…there should be no reason they’d suddenly trust them.
Did Thrall and Vol’jin institute a Darkspear only rule? No, so it’s not relevant. The Forsaken are still Undead, and yet the Horde races overlooked this fact and allied with them. Even then, when under the thrall of the Scourge the Forsaken were powerless. It was only through direct interevention that they managed to break off.
Do you really think that, in 25,000 years, no Eredar ever managed to resist the Legion? The Broken are exactly that: Eredar that resisted the Legion. You assume that every red goat was all the way down with the Burning Legion from the start when it’s been 25,000 years.
As far as the Horde trusting demons, I hate to break this to you but Warlocks are extremely proliferate in the Horde. In fact, the Horde is currently host to a lot of demons since Demon Hunters are, in fact, easily just as demonic in nature as any Eredar.
I can forgive them since Ner’zhul vanished from the plot just before WotLK and has never been seen again. Well, not including alternate Ner’zhul who doesn’t really count.
I swear people in wow forums need to learn how to read a book.
" The Eredar are a [species] of supremely talented magic-wielders who arose on the planet [Argus] countless millennia ago. They built a vast civilization of wondrous cities and upheld a peaceful way of life. Twenty-five thousand years ago, however, the tranquility of Argus was shattered, and the Eredar separated into two groups: the [Draenei] and the [Man’ari]." -Wow Wiki whose source is The Chronicle series.
That’s nice, but I don’t see the Draenei calling themselves Eredar do you? No, they left that distinction behind on purpose when they started calling themselves the Draenei. The Eredar don’t call themselves “Man’ari” that would be ridiculous. They are Eredar, always have been and always will be. The Draenei are the ones that abandoned the distinction in favor of naming themselves Exiles.
The High Elves renaming themselves Blood Elves didn’t change their biology either and yet here we are, the two being mutually exclusive ethnic groups with their own motivations and idealisms. Also, I hate to tell you this but 25,000 years of exclusion from eachother and each group’s exposure to the Naaru and Demons respectively changed them biologically anyway.
Social grouping, Ideologies and motavations, do not create a race. that creates a society. Biology creates a race. And Draenei are uncorrupted Eredar. The Broken from outland are mutated Eredar. And the man’hari from Argus current are corrupted Eredar.
