Most new players I’ve led through ERA have quit before ZG or after their first ZG. The process takes too long thanks to a broken economy and bruised egos from vets who don’t give people a chance.
And that’s fine, they are welcome back anytime if they want to continue their journey.
Era isn’t hard, but to complete a toon (full naxx bis) it takes a long time and a certain degree of dedication.
I don’t think current players have a Ego issue, there is a farm more demand for raids than there is supply. If one wants to get invites to higher level raids they simply need to show they are going to bring more (higher parses, more gold, right class/spec) than the other people wanting to go.
The current system is a competitive market and it works well that way, blizzard shouldn’t come in and micromanage, SoD / wotlk / retail is already there for players that want everything handed to them without having to build their skills and reputation.
Build their skills?
All you have to do in ERA is buy gold and get full naxx clears weekly after you’ve bought strath rep carries to get attuned on a fresh 60. Which btw these boosts for strath are fly hackers, back when I was more active 6 months ago they did all get banned but checking back in these past few weeks seeing new ones.
My point is, the game is great. The mechanics are fine. The people are the ones ruining the world. You give any range of freedom or control in an MMORPG and you watch what players do with it. You ever look into Mortal Online1/2? There is a reason both of them are dead being full loot PvP with zero safe zones and rules or limitations.
The naxx run I go with we don’t bring pure buyers (sure we try to bring a few people that need tier gear but never bring anyone that isn’t near pre-naxx bis).
A KT melle weapon goes for about 150-600k gold - and every raid has lots of warriors / rogues that have been saving their payouts for months waiting for it to drop, and have plenty of gold to buy it. No need to bring buyers.
You can spend a few grad usd on wow gold and still will struggle to find a naxx run that wants to bring you, especially if your toon has bad parses and the player has no naxx experience. There are plenty of people with the same amount, if not more, gold that will actually benefit the raid.
There are tens of thousands of players enjoying the raids, sure it doesn’t cater to people that want to be carried or expect to be fully geared in less than 1/2 a year of active playing, but that’s a feature.
Again, all the other versions are much easier to gear toons and access content - and is available with the same subscription.
uh, you can make a lot more selling consumes?
LIke, seriously, flasks are about 400 gold on the auction house right now, and there’s no limit on how many you can make, so like selling 10 of them should have you covered for a few raids.
Something tells me you forget where flasks come from and how they are made with a specific material that is camped by teleporting bots.
the bot problem was resolved by blizzard making an anti cheat software that detects lua unlockers and bans people from using them.
Also, there arn’t as many bots in era.
For all the people constantly lying, the new consolidation of all realms posted as an idea, prove that era is a dire state of near damn death.
That doesnt mean you cant enjoy the experience or have fun, but a mega realm of 12 servers hitting combined low pop is beyond dead.
If you have to tell people x is true…x is usually not true.
The consolidation is for Classic Cata, not Era. And Era is doing fine, plenty of people to play with and tons to do.
This is true.
The most populated cluster of era barely sustains 6k active raiders, including multiple alts. That shoild be around 3k unique active players at best. That number of players is considered as a dead server in non-era players’ eyes. Even dead server like SoD Chaos Bolt had more active raiders before devs decided to delete it.
Eve Online is full loot PVP and PVE. they have a decent community and its full sandbox. they also have zero safe zones and limited rules
The number of players is likely higher than number of raid toons.
While some people may raid with multiple toons, there are plenty of players that are only leveling or not raiding every lockout.
Thus, whitemane pop probably closer to 8k decently active players. Which feel more populated than any other version of wow ever, considering that it acts as a single server with no layers.
Mortal Online 1&2 doesnt have P2W elements or straight up buying ships that cost as much as cars or houses IRL. EvE is a partial exception to this situation.
Remember that one planet game where you can buy parts or whole planets and make profits off people using stuff on them? EvE is similar. Its a type of game where you put more money into it for either enjoyment or invest for profits later.
Also last I checked it has a very small community… and I mean small.
you have no basis to say that at all and there are far far more than 1 raiding toon per account for sure, some have 3-7 at this point, they have nothing else to do and levelers are none existent.
Im not saying its dead, but its less populated than before sod. Whitemane is Low now.
This is untrue. I level multiple alts, I do not raid. QED.
“Anecdotal evidence isnt factual evidence” maybe you will learn the scientific method one day.
Aka mega dead.
