Lmaoooo is it sunday already?
What question was that?
We did have one AV that lasted 80+ minutes over the weekend. I canât remember when it was I did many hours on two toons.
Also, I love era and play it exclusively. I think itâs worth playing.
If you cant make gold in this economy to get yourself geared through low end raids I donât know what to tell you. Inflated economies go both ways. Im loving era and a lot of stuff is hella cheap right now. Hell i just bought a Ashkandi last night for 700g. As more and more players get bisâd out the lower the cost of items become. Im sure im not the only one whoâs noticed payouts are maybe half of what they were this time last year and its bc more and more players have their bis.
wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?
you keep that thing away from me LOL youâre already painful enough.
damn I think ill break my rule of no gold dkp and buy one now.
I ironically bought Spinal Reaper in the MC run just before BWL for 1k. Big oof
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ouch, lesson learned lol
You mentioned not purchasing a Cataclysm Classic Game Bundle. Which of the reasons below describe why you did not purchase?
one of the answers:
I plan to spend a lot of time with Classic progression, Hardcore Classic, or Season of Discovery
âIt should read: I plan to spend a lot of time with Classic Era, Hardcore Classic, or Season of Discoveryâ, because Classic Progression is what they ended up using to refer to Classic (thatâs progressed through TBC and now into Cata); specifically the term came about with Wrath Classic.
Which would make âClassic progressionâ invalid. The question is already asking why you didnât buy something for (what should be) âClassic progressionâ. And stating youâre not buying the bundle because youâre going to play that version of the game a bunch, doesnât fit when the other options are all ânot playing Classic Progressionâ-options.
It appears they may have Classic Era progress from Vanilla up through Wrath and likely reset back to Vanilla. I would guess moving the Wrath characters to what ever they decide to dub Classic Cata (and onwards).
The OP is so hyperbolic I canât help but think its a troll - and a pretty decent one based on the results.
If so, 7.9/10, well played.
Era is fine, everybody is doing their thing. I donât believe in ânew playersâ but suppose in the rare and odd event you get 3 brand spanking new people to the game they would still be playing a casual MMORPG with a slew of experienced veteran players and guilds that would accept them with plenty of opportunity to get the full experience.
Like most things, it really depends on you. Youâre responsible for your experience and if you canât find what youâre looking for then that probably means this game isnât for you. Max level is 100% soloable and gold is the easiest resource in the game to farm. The really good stuff still requires friends and lots of them but again, thatâs on you.
Yup, and I think the only people who Era does not really work out for is those that need their hand held and told what to do regarding content.
That statement has never resonated with me.
I LOVED WoW in Vanilla, then with each expansion, I stopped enjoying what it was and it started feeling more and more like a chore. After a long time of attempting to get the feeling back, including resurrecting my Vanilla guild in Wrath-Cata and surrounding myself with like minded people, I quit.
Then I almost didnât play Classic 2019 because I thought that maybe I had changed. C2019 showed me that it was the 1000% game changes that drove me away from WoW. Iâm pretty much the same person who likes the same things in WoW since I started with the open beta in 2004.
Iâm confident now that I always knew what I wanted and I never didnât know what I wanted.
People who tell others what they like has always been a pet peeve of mine, itâs normally said with an ego, a closed mind, and discounting concerns which that statement did. Itâs rarely said with any humility, kindness, or understanding.
I try hard to accept that others like things that I do not including the direction WoW has taken with Retail and several other things I wonât bother to type out, yet Iâve had people repeatedly arrogantly tell me what I like and want. They are constantly wrong, and the sad thing is they will probably never realize that they are wrong when donât listen to others and instead tell them what they want, and that they should never talk for anyone else. I then feel bad for the people who have to interact with them on a daily basis, because really, who likes a know it all?
The good thing is that we got the Classic 2019 run and Era is still here even though even that has more changes than I would like, but it is here, and there are people who know that they âalways didâ.
Still playing and loving it.
Agree
In hindsight Brack looks like a prophet that knew us better than we knew ourselves. There are plenty of exceptions of course but overall he nailed it when he said that. It was plenty controversial at the time and for good reason but ultimately the guy wasnât totally off base with the way things played out.
Even so, none of it matters anymore. We have Era servers and thats all we need.
The fact there are still plenty of private severs for vanilla, and the fact that era is getting back its population suggests at least to me otherwise. I think i do and i know i do want to play classic wow
I get the sense that Era is going to ebb and flow on population for a while and thatâs just part of playing here.
Expecting Cataclysm to have a big die off once people see that casual raiding is not really a thing and the loot treadmill becomes obvious. Was going to check out SoD but it really doesnât appeal to me and sounds like there are issues, maybe some of those people will be back on Era before long.
That cycle will probably continue for a bit still.
I agree with your take, and at the same time there is really only two versions of the game that I would pay money to play and thatâs Classic and TBC. I wish I would have had time for it in 2019 since I was the guy asking for Classic servers since original WotLk.
I said there was plenty of exceptions and I count myself as one of them. None of them erase how classic has played out and when you take a good, hard look at it, it turns out Brack actually knew what he was talking about.
I mean, the classic train made it to Cataclysm and probably go beyond. What does that tell you?
I guess Iâll just never see an arrogant know it all who attempts to speak for everyone as any sort of prophet.
Yes, there has been whining the whole time with Classic but was the whining from the subset of people who âthought they didâ or was it from others? The whole time with WoW one consistent has been complaining. So the real question for me is did the same people who ask for this game as it was complain and ask for changes?
As I said in my post this is a real pet peeve of mine and I do not like people telling me what to think or do as this sort of âadviceâ said without any real consideration is wrong 99% of the time (my strong feelings on this is for reasons outside this game).
I was thinking of not replying because you have the right to have an opinion too, and that just speaks to my beliefs on this even more. Iâm assuming this is related to you not really enjoying the culture that came back with Classic 2019 or the complaining or something. There are others who agree with my post though.
ETA
There is a certain subset of the population who likes a certain thing that wants this Cata and will want the MoP and will want the WoD and beyond. Blizzard has listened to this subset and done things for them the whole time. Mostly this is raiding on the same characters. A huge percentage play for WCLs and not even WoW. I wonder how many who are playing Cata started at the beginning of Classic. 95% of my like-minded friends have quit and I do not play Cata and have zero desire to especially since it has changes that make it even less interesting.
consider this a momentâŚ
Perhaps the people whoâre unhappy with Vanilla and are also unhappy with TBC, Wrath, Cata, MoP, WoD, Letgion and all the degenerate stuff since⌠are just unhappy entirely with WoW and need a different game?
Personally nothing Brack has said has rung truth with me even slightly. The first thing I noticed about Vanilla when I came back in 2019 is how much better it actually is than I remember it in 2004, I was shocked by just how damn good and addictive it really is.
I suspect the people whoâre âI have nothing to doâ are those that bought their way to the top of their characters with their credit card and now want more content, ya know⌠Phone gamers; they will never be satisfied.
