Go heal someone like you should be doing, because you, are not a tank in classic.
After reading the thread, it seem to me that this paly complains about the tank taking dps gear…which means, no it cant be, he’s ret? bad bad paly, paly is for heals warrior is for fight, you need to know your role kid and dont worry what the warrior rolls on because it isnt anything that would concern you.
Go take the cloth stuff, leave tanking for tanks. lol
ITT: Crappy tanks try to justify being crap.
I had no problem tanking ZF as arms.
Had a 2H Warrior tank the other night who wasn’t bad. I was confused at first though as I am a 2H DPS Warrior. I just assumed he knew how to tank. Largely I was Just trying not to get aggro, and if I did, just off tank for a few seconds and switch targets.
That said, you wouldn’t believe the amount of unsolicited chats I get asking for a tank. I mean, I get it, but I sold my shield long ago.
Just tanked first 3 wings of SM with the ravager and all fury talents, healer suggested I do it and no one was above level 40. Run went super smooth but I guess i’m entitled.
100% agreed OP
Everyone wants to play like their favorite streamer that gets carried by their lackeys instead of playing the game for themselves.
You have no idea how classic wow works, do you? Tanking isnt strictly sword and board or get lost, wielding a two hander is perfectly acceptable until post Black rock Depths. But nah, go ahead and keep kicking out the tanks that know that they’re doing. I’m sure eventually your server will catch on and stop bringing you.
No, it’s unacceptable behavior. And said behavior deserves to be punished.
Fury tanking is a thing, it’s just most people are not good enough to do it. They see someone do it and think “That’s easy, I can do that!” then fail.
Oh, you’re just a bad troll. Had a feeling nobody coul dbe that stupid. report and move on.
Report because fail wanna-be tanks try to take up a slot a legitimate tank could be filling.
Are you trolling or upset because you had a difficult run? Everything I’ve read states dual weapon fury holds more aggro than sword and board protection.
You are incorrect. You are still caught up in the Retail way of doing things. Classic is not so cut and dry when it comes to specs. Players can spec in a dps tree and a support tree even paladins.
When you are calmer, do some research. You may be surprised at how many viables specs are out there.
Anywho, warriors can spec fury and be great tanks. They are not pieces of “word not allowed on forum” because they don’t use a shield. Their extra attack causes more threat. That is important.
But…
They must be geared for it. If the warrior doesn’t have the gear they will be more fragile than expected.
Also, any warrior worth their salt should carry a shield and be prepared to switch to it when necessary.
The following macro is a must for any warrior tank.
/equip “one-hander”
/equip “shield”
/equip “two-hander”
where every “” should contain the name of the weapon or shield being swapped.
Yes it is. If you’re spec’d mostly fury or arms, then you’re dps. If you want to tank, go prot. That’s why the talent tree is there. If I want to heal on my Classic pally, I go holy. If I want to dps, I go ret. If I want to tank, I go prot. Simple.
The argument that fury can tanks or whatnot is an argument based on the fact that said warrior is overgeared. That’s not what we’re talking about here. And it’s always the line people love to tote when they try to justify bad tanks filling a spot while they dual wield and frustrate their healer.
No, because a fail player doesn’t understand how the game works in classic and is taking up a slot being an idiot.
Corenn, it is not a question of being overgeared. It is question of being properly geared.
Also, take note of what everyone in this thread is saying. We are not collectively trolling you. You are incorrect in your assumption that the talent trees are that strictly divided.
It’s not an assumption. The talent trees are set up in such a way that they will make you better at one of three things: either healing, tanking, or DPS.
Crappy OP justifying being bad at healing.
My healing is amazing. So amazing that I can even carry crappy dual-wielding/2H tanks through dungeons.
Guess I somehow broke the rules of the game by tanking SM with a 2h. I hope my fellow 4 pugs dont report me for making their dungeon run too smooth by taking minimal damage while doing top damage on every pull. I guess I shall await my ban for following the healer’s suggestion.
