Why are there trust levels? Some of us have been using the forums for years and have never stolen anything.

Well at trust level 3, it will allow you to post links to any website etc… it basically means you’re a poster, in good standing and have less restrictions on what you can do on the forum.

I have already explained what I use likes for, so please actually read my posts on this thread when you speak down to me.

I don’t need Blizzard web designers to tell me how much I can or cannot interact with the Warcraft community. That’s what’s important to me here, not stroking my ego because someone on the internet pushed a button.

I use likes as a symbol of agreement where a full reply is not necessary, or to respect the opinions of someone who has conducted themselves with decency and civility. Also to give praise to a well written post asking for x feature or y change to the game.

Since I’m here pretty often, I agree with a lot of people, and thus use a lot of likes.
The alternative to giving out a like is rather simple. Shut up and don’t engage with the forum at all, or give a spam reply to show agreement.

If someone posts “I would like these changes to BM hunters! This one skill feels clunky. This x should be changed to y!” why do I need to copy it word for word just to show my support for it because I’ve already communicated with other parts of the community?

It’s stupid. It’s needlessly restrictive. It’s actively punishing frequent forum users, and it’s discouraging interaction. And that interaction is the entire point of this forum.

There is a cap on how many posts you can like in a set time period? That strikes me are bizarre.

It’s because they actually serve a purpose now and receiving them means something to the system. Therefore they want to prevent people from just spamming them out.

That limit is ultimately rendered pointless when you can just swap your forum avatar to a new character with a new like cap. You can even like your own posts. This system is absurd.
