The only item you possess that breaks ivl 240 is a crafted legendary. Please stop.

lmao its an mmo. go play a 1 player game.

Yeh so… no. This is a pve perspective. Hence why I said PVP servers should be brought back. The reality is that in actual war or conflicts, there are no time outs or safe places. These are implemented to satisfy people that are scared to partake in. Warcraft is literally about war and conflict and to not have that, is killing the game. The factional wars, the contested areas, the infighting of factions, peoples, guilds, this is what makes the game more interesting. Without this… its nothing more than dull shadow of what it used to be.

Bring back PVP servers.

Even though I liked PvP servers, I don’t think they can reverse what they did to World PvP. Blizzard has already turned every PvP/RPPvP server into normal servers. It’s now just Normal or RP servers.

They’ve completely rid the game of PvP servers and we’ve had two expansions where its been gone. Realistically, they can’t just say, “Hey, we’re reverting the decision and every server that was once PvP/RPPvP server is going back to what they once were.” Reason being is because new players who have joined in either BfA/Shadowlands would have had no idea what a PvP server was or what servers were once PvP/RPPvP. Not to mention the outcry of their PvE playerbase.

They could make new servers, maybe even offer free server transfers to those new servers, but here’s the next problem. It’s a new server with no previous established economy, guilds, etc. There would be no incentive for the average player to transfer to these servers. Yes, PvPers would, because the simple fact that, “PvP iS tHe InCeNtIvE” but at that point I’d much rather just get phased/sharded over into it while staying on my server that has a good economy and population. PvPers are already a small and dwindling part of the playerbase. The introduction of new PvP servers would start off really, really bad. Maybe within a few years they would establish a proper economy and playerbase, but that’s assuming Blizzard did their part and continued adding on to these servers. And from what we’ve seen out of War Mode? They’re not going to do that with a re-branded War Mode system reworked into a server infrastructure.

As for the gear comments, gear is probably the easiest it’s been to obtain in awhile (excluding legendaries.)

I don’t have a lot of time to play the game nowadays except for the weekend, and have at most, 2 hours maybe 3 hours a day Monday-Friday to play the game yet I have pretty decent gear.

I do one or two RBG wins a day until I get my vault cap. These don’t take very long to complete. By the end of the week, you’re at 3/3 vault and have obtained your conquest for the week.

Granted, I really wish we could send honor to our alts for easier gearing, but thats a simple fix. I don’t think having a gear advantage, especially in WPvP, is that big of an issue. You use whatever you can to your advantage.

Right… because dropping a raid group on a small party of 5, regardless of their gear, is skill. No, nowadays, it’s about who has the bigger group, and gear advantage has helped reduce this. I remember back in Legion WPvP when a geared enough player in the ilvl 960s could solo a group of a 6-7 players who had mediocre/average gear.

They already offered this through War Mode, its just that War Mode was implemented VERY poorly and is managed very poorly. I really do believe that with the right amount of effort and work, War Mode could be a good feature.

Do I think it’s a good feature right now? Absolutely not, it’s bad, and in comparison to PvP servers back then, absolute crap. PvP servers were superior because they’ve had years to become established. Reintroducing them would be a mess and would take years to stabilize and act as a functioning server.

You are delusional if you think they would bring back something they can’t.

Yeah they’ll never make vanilla servers just get over it.

This is a game.

You can’t make people PvP if they don’t want to. Period.

And all but one, maybe two, of those PvP servers are dominated by one facftion.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

How well did that work out?

Shadowlands doesn’t care about PvP. But it doesn’t really care about anything at all besides raiding. It’s a Minimum Viability Product at this point.

To the OP: Coming from Emerald Dream myself, I absolutely miss the glorious battles our server was known for. I’ve been on ED as long as ED has existed, and we had so many good wars!

Unfortunately, cross-realm and Warmode truly did that in. When the split leaned overall WM off last expansion, it made it harder to group up for world quests. You also couldn’t see or play with people from your own server anymore, if they had WM off, and so more people turned theirs off to join them. Became a bit of a feedback loop.

Bad game design killed warmode. And Emerald Dream. If they had of made something more rational, letting you see players without WM and quest with them, but they simply can’t participate in PvP, we wouldn’t be seeing the barren wasteland we do now. But… it’s Blizzard.

Just interesting that you would come to WPVP forums.

Easily the most fun I’ve had in any game has been WOW PVP- WPVP & BG.

Many players who loved WOW PVP grew-up and left the game. Players who populated PVP servers have families now and other worries besides incessantly farming gear and ganking poor souls, and don’t have time for the game.

While BFA WPVP was fun for many the voice from the other side was louder. In a company that put the dollar above all else PVP just couldn’t survive.

They tried to fix PVP with a poorly thought-out band-aid in Shadowlands and we know how that turned out.

Blizzard realized all this and didn’t put needed resources into PVP to attract new PVP players where the competition was fierce and many. The developers who built and loved WOW PVP left the game, for one reason or another. World of Warcraft PVP is dead compared to what it was and what it could have been.

Good luck.

I agree, the best thing would be to revert warmode and have dedicated PvP servers again. Cross server grouping would enable players to join wpvp with their friends on pvp servers anyway.

#endwarmode

I love War Mode as it is, I was extremely happy when they added it.

What I’d like to see is more World PVP content that gives meaningful rewards. I was sad to see they didn’t continue the WPVP quests from BFA in Shadowlands (ignoring the fact that BFA was the worst PVP expansion to-date thanks to borrowed power systems far worse than Shadowlands).

What was key about bfa with war mode was the awards and assaults that got people out in the world. It was good and worked.

And shadowlands had nothing. Literally nothing.

PVE players are all for it obviously however there was pve servers prior to war mode so that argument is pretty much irrelevant.

Glorious indeed.

Some of the most fun I have ever had in any game period. If it’s red, it’s dead!

We need open world strife, wow will continue to die and ultimately they will lose a lot more money if the lack of competition continues. The whole pve candy land only lasts as long as people don’t get bored with content. Wpvp doesn’t require content. It’s mayhem. It’s war.

They can do better, simply focusing on pve is a bad decision due to wows history. Everyone commenting about pve at least understand those of us that are passionate about wpvp and want a better system.

Right now the Horde out-numbers the Alliance 3-to-1. Orc has the best racial for PvP by a country mile. If you want to see the last vestiges of the Alliance die, this is how you’d go about doing it.

Why?

If they dont want to WPVP, dont play on a pvp realm?

Having PVP servers doesnt affect them in any new way.

This was the original argument with PvP servers in the past, but people always found an excuse for it.

“I didn’t know!” “I was new and my friend told me to play on his realm” “That’s where the top PvE guilds were.” “My guild was transferring and I followed them” etc. The list goes on.

I loved PvP servers but as I said before, they’ve already killed the idea of PvP servers. They can’t reintroduce PvP servers as new servers and they can’t revert the decision on servers that were once PvP.

Introducing new servers as PvP servers would face the problem every new server has, but even worse because its labelled as a PvP server. No established economy, no stable population (more so that its PvP and we have a small player base), etc. Why play on a new PvP server when you could likely just get phased onto it through an invite from someone playing on it?

They just need to improve and build upon War Mode and make it work. There’s no going back and it sucks, I know. War Mode is terrible. It could be so much better but it was implemented and managed so poorly.
