Who DIDN’T love running into the Sunken Ring in wintergrasp and randomly getting one shot by a tank’s twilight devastation?
I had a baseline of 52% vers, I didn’t get one shot by anything
Context does matter. I never said all newer expansion had better balancing, but most do.
If you honestly think this you have never played classic.
I never once said it’s only because they have pvp server… I said the majority of players play on pvp servers. Stop lying.
You’re arguing with a 4 year old who changes the rules every time it looks like they might be losing and then claims that those were the rules all along.
“You’re not opting in to War Mode, but if we put you on a server that’s only War Mode, you’ll love it right?”
I’ve played TBC, WotLK, and SoD Classic. While the gameplay is a bit slow for my liking, I can confidently say Classic has better PvP balance compared to Retail.
When comparing Shadowlands to TBC Classic, which released around the same time, it’s clear that TBC Classic offered a much better experience for PvPers. Only good thing about Shadowlands was that it brought back PvP vendors. The rest of the systems were horrible. Legendary crafting system was expensive and tedious, and switching covenants was a huge pain until they finally made it easier. In contrast, TBC Classic had much more straightforward systems and noticeably better PvP balance.
The main improvements since Shadowlands are the return of talent trees—something I’ve always preferred over the talent rows—and a less grindy gearing system that’s less tied to PvE content. Being a healer in Dragonflight was awful though. They tried to address it with Precognition embellishment and reducing CC durations across the board which was a step in the right direction, but there’s still room for improvement. I still believe Classic offers better PvP balance overall though since they have devs that actually care and put in effort for their PvP player base.
None of those are classic…
Why are you comparing only shadowlands?
They literally have Classic in the name… “The Burning Crusade Classic” “Wrath of the Lich King Classic” “Classic Season of Discovery”
What are you on
I already compared BfA earlier which was around the time vanilla classic came out. I compared Shadowlands and Dragonflight to current.
We where talking about classic wow… not these “classic old expansions”. Maybe pay attention to the conversation before you speak.
BfA had good balance till the final season and that wasn’t class balance it was stupid power ups.
I was under the impression that “Classic” referred to the entire Classic series unless a specific expansion was mentioned
Oh well. Maybe I was wrong I guess. That said, even Vanilla Classic still feels more balanced than Retail WoW, largely due to the game’s simplicity back then compared to the layered systems and mechanics we’ve had the past few expansions.
Not really… You had to grind Azerite to even use Azerite gear. Your neck had to reach a certain level and we didn’t have any PvP vendors. You had to do PvE for your gear.
The rules were changed, but you weren’t told, and they were the rules all along.
Was a caster heavy meta that just sat back and had the caster triangle or RMX.
The balance was so terrible double destro lock was actually a thing
Why people complain for balance , i dont understand, well if this is for balace in arenas and rated bg i understand.
But in World pvp, the balance dont matter, you always are gonna be in disadvantage if you are alone, ranges have a lot more advantage, and also the class that can scape very easy like rogues and hunters.
but that what make this very exitement, becouse its strategy all the time.
You weren’t wrong. They just tried to shift the narrative to talking about vanilla because the conversation was about SoD and they stuck their foot in their mouth.
Rules never changed. He just failed to look at the context like you usually do.
Why lie? I specially said classic wow multiple times.
Well to be fair you did mention Classic SoD earlier.
I assumed we were still talking about Classic SoD and took “Classic” as an umbrella term for all Classic WoW versions. Usually, when people mean the original game, they say vanilla…
Yes because Hastegodx brought it up and i was pointing out that classic wow wasn’t supposed to get any changes that it was the whole point and he tried to use some pvp balance in SoD as “evidance”.
I’m old I just call it classic wow sorry.
Classic was a newer term though when they announced classic a few years ago. People weren’t calling it classic before classic. If you were old, you’d be calling it vanilla like all the rest.
Not a newer term they called it classic because everyone cried about wanting “classic wow” .
