Bring back PVP servers. Let the people who enjoy the PvP servers stay on the PvP servers and the people who don’t like it stay on Pve servers. This version of wow has helped kill ED , I miss the constant fighting between horde and alliance. What’s the point of getting PvP gear if all you do is que for PvP , a lot of the roleplaying that was done on ED had a wpvp element to it. They might as well have completely removed PvP from the game. What’s the point of getting the best PvP gear now if all you’re gonna do is sit in the cities. Killing PvP servers killed rp PvP and it also killed the incentive for people to focus on getting PvP gear. You got PvP gear to go and kill that group that ganked you when you were in greens. You got PvP gear and created whole RP stories for wars between different guilds. It made low lvl territories relevant, again bring back PvP servers , let people have the choice to do either pve or have PvP servers again, you may lose people because of PvP griefing but your definitely going to have alot of players going to other games that still have PvP servers
Man, I really miss old school ED. Been here since the start of WotLK and was on VeCo (is for fite!) prior to the jump to ED. Really miss the community, the RPPVP wikis and guild/campaign lore and fiction. So many excellent players and storytellers. Big multi-guild battles raging across multiple zones.
With WM and sharding, Blizz really gave RPPVP communities the shaft. Used to if you got killed by someone, you could find them later, you knew their name, their guild, usually where to find them. Now it’ll likely be someone who isn’t from your server, someone you’ll very likely never see again. If you do find them, they can shard hop, or they can just go turn WM off. I miss fighting against people who I knew and respected who were part of a thriving server-wide community.
The reasoning that Blizzard removed PvP realm status and added War Mode was because of the players that moved to a PvP realm with their friends and hated World PvP. I personally hate the removal of PvP realm status and the addition of War Mode. I moved to a PvP realm on purpose, I love World PvP. The only place that actually has massive World PvP are Classic Hardcore, Classic Wrath, and Classic Season of Discovery. Yet people are flocking over to SoD and absolutely loving the World PvP aspect of it. I wonder why people are flooding SoD, crazy…anywho I am for bringing back PvP realm status to Emerald Dream and a few other realms to test it out again among the player base.

Not a bad idea, but warmode creates this safe place in which players just dont do anything. Having an open world with risk, makes things intresting.
No, they will get more friends. And fight. I will say people give up too easy at anything now adays… so perhaps you have a point. That in itself is very sad.

I didn’t have time to read your whole post, but I agree, being back pvp servers. We need them now more than ever. War mode has been nothing but problems.
WPvP i so dead and it feel bad. I nearly always have Wpvp on. I only turn it off for Superbloom. I prefer how it use to be with pvp and non pvp servers. If we are stuck with War mode then thier needs to be added benefits on having it on. The Removed the increase in rep, but that only kept people in Wmode tell the grind was over and then they all left anyways. So w/e the benefit is needs to be something people will keep War Mode on for.

Ya either End War Mode or make it reward PvP instead of PvE. You can’t even earn Marks of Honor from WM…
Marks of honor are next to worthless.
But you can buy a box of them for 2k honor, which can be farmed in war mode.
the selection of pvp and pve servers is essentially warmode. people want world pvp and instead of that being a choice, that option was basically stripped from the game
FYI, you just replied to a post that’s almost three years old.
Pretty cool ideas, but this wouldnt leave anywhere for folks that like things the way they are(WM when you are in the mood, WM off otherwise). I would have to make the hard decision to play in a pvp realm or not, as I’m not interested in doing both with seperate toons for both realms, so I would just stay off the pvp server and do organized (instanced) pvp when I want to pvp.
Go to classic, WPvP is dead on retail. Best to go through the stages of grief and move on.
It’s actually not though. You’ll just have nights where the sharding is really bad. For example, last night I was down at Waking Shores and there were fights all over the place. The wpvp quest alone must have had about 20 people duking it out just for the hell of it, long past finishing the quest.
Then you’ll have a night where it seems like you’re the only guy who shows up, so you get bored and end up killing a bunch of flies LOL.
Please give us a modern wow pvp server.

Yeah war mode hasn’t been fun lately. I like world pvp but sometimes forget to even turn on war mode because it feels empty. Pvp servers in classic feel more engaging
Not to mention all the phasing issues you have if you want to play with friends! Seems like there’s always one or two that forget to toggle it, then have to travel back to one of the capitals and back! And then trying to teach new players how to dance around all these systems?! It’s crazy!
Very inconvenient. And the few players you do find in war mode don’t even want to be there. Just want the extra “rewards”
But besides that, it feels like a broken system from what pvp servers used to be
