It’s not perfect but it’s there and adding a group size check would be pretty simple.

My point is, you’re saying the premades vs pugs change is needed to ensure fair games.
There is no insurance of fair games in classic. If they wanted to ensure fair games, they could seperate people by
-Level (more than they already do- the bottom level of any bracket is a free kill)
-Gear (ilvl or enchants)
-Class (make sure there’s healers, beefy classes, etc. in set amounts)
-HP totals (to get rid of twinks)
Edit: PvP rank, too.
They could also pause the game if both sides don’t have the same number of players, or buff the side with less players.
But they don’t. Classic was never interested in setting up a fair match. The factions don’t even have all the same classes, a “fair” match is impossible.
The system just finds enough warm bodies with no hint of fairness and asks if they want the BG. It even still pops the BG if people say no (as evidenced by queue dodging and what blizzard adressed to fix that).
If you want a premade queue, that’s one thing. But you’re just lying for no reason if you think the current system prioritizes fairness at all.

The classic BG system does not try to make fair matches.
Except it does, it has some basic metrics it looks at to try to make a relatively even match. Adding groups size to those would hardly be a stretch.

No, not everyone wins. Queues will be longer so everyone loses right there to begin with. Then, people will 3 2 1 queue exploit again. I am done grinding ranks, so before you even try to say I want an easy way, just dont… what I want is for casuals like you NOT to get the gear people like me rightfully earned. Get good at PVP and join a premade of your own. Not everyone gets to have everything in classic, just like I made peace that I’ll never have rank 14 weapons, you should realize you arent entitled to welfare gear. Want free loot? Go back to retail

The issue is that premades being matched with pugs is simply not fun.

Well, would you accept there being a solo queue that gives half the honor and no marks? Because if solo queue gave the same amount of honor as premade, then alliance would 3 2 1 queue “pug” because of their short queue times. This is an MMO and grouping with people SHOULD be incentivized. Making solo queue award same amount of honor would bring more issues than fixes
Grouping is incentivized, you get to play with the group of your choosing instead of a bunch of random people. That’s reward enough.

Ehh, what I am saying is that if they made PUGS get same amount of honor as those in a premade, then alliance would exploit “pug in 3 2 1 queue” to avoid facing other premades.
By making a pug only bracket exist that awards same amount of honor, then people pre mading would not do it. They would have to add a deterrent for pugging like getting half the honor. I wouldnt mind that since I am done with my rank 12 grind, Id pug at even zero honor because I dont care for honor anymore.
There basically aren’t mods on these forums. The community reports you, and someone somewhere looks at the reports.

Blizzard broke clicking join at some point in retail, all they would need to do is apply that same fix and that solves that problem.
When I was ranking, my premade of 10 people did a 3 2 1 queue for AV and at least 5 of us made it in the same AV. Same would happen with normal BGs and as long as 5 premade go in a pug, they have the upper hand. My premade of 10 horde won vs premade of 15 alliance in AB (since horde have to split queue) almost always. So yeah 5 of us entering a pug would be no different. This game was the way it is 15 years ago and you chose to play it with its flaws and all, so just play it or go back to retail.

Same, I’m done with my rank 12 grind so I would join pug queue whenever I’m not helping in a premade group.
The only downside to this would be splitting would cause queues to go up in time.

This is such a silly and shortsighted answer to a complicated problem. Sounds like it’s coming from someone with no problems getting into the best premades on their server. Or if not, the people like that will say the same thing.
The people controlling the top ranks don’t take any random person to their runs. Some servers only have one main pool of dedicated players in PVP that are “accepted” in their little clique. Not even in a guild…in a “PVP cartel”, of sorts.
They use private Discord groups and dictate who gets what rank, when. This I’m sure a lot of you know. As someone who didn’t play in Vanilla, this is all new to me.
So for you to say “make friends, it’s easy”. Well, we all have friends in the game, it’s not always the same people who are dedicated to steadily gaining ranks over the weeks.
Try to think a little before you post.

If your goal is to get to the higher ranks (13+) then this is consistent with how the meta was in vanilla on many servers.
If your goal is rank 10 or less as it is with most players because they have a life, then you don’t need to be so hardcore as to get in the “cliques”. Just find a regular old pre-made or even just a partial pre-made and you’ll be fine.
Ranks 13+ are only for the most hardcore.
Like I said. There’s not an issue. Game is working as intended. If your issue is with the Classic meta then your issue is with vanilla itself in this case.
