End Premades

I actually agree with this solution - bonus honor so that trade chat premades get around 10% more honor per hour than the average pug keeps the system stable and prevents solo queuers from being killed in their own graveyards six times per match.

But in order to implement something like this we’d need an overwhelming, undeniable consensus. It is a big change.

Pug win rate at best averages out around 50% because of the random nature of the teams. People won’t stop premading because just based on the ability to control their teammates it’ll always be more rewarding.

It won’t. Game theory guarantees it, because premades who win less than 50% of the time will leave the premade pool and join the pug pool.

In a few days the premades who were winning a little bit more than 50% of the time will see their competition get tougher, and then they, too, will leave the premade queues because pug honor/hour is better than their current honor/hour.

Repeat that for a month and premades have disappeared completely. The only way to ensure that doesn’t happen is by having trade chat premades get a little bit more honor/hour than solo queuers.

People will not stop premading, the people who like premading are not going settle for random team mates. If the meta for hph shifts that doesn’t particularly matter because that is a time grind not done to enjoy BG’s anyways. If anything shifting the meta away from premades for hph would help the average person premading who just does it for fun.

By that logic premades would also have a 50/50 rate, which means it’s no longer the most efficient honor farm. Then rankers will just find another way to farm you for honor, you’ll come back here and demand big daddy blizz fix your problems and the cycle starts all over again. We’ve already been through this like 3 times in classic. Nothing will “fix” pvp because the honor system “forces” rankers to find ways to farm casuals and pugs for honor. It’s literally what the entire classic pvp system is built around, exploiting “lesser” players for personal gain.

Except the issue was not nearly this prevalent in vanilla, so it would be entirely inline with other changes that have already been made for blizzard to do something to address it.

That’s makes no difference. This “issue” was still a thing in vanilla. Therefore it shouldn’t be changed. The honor system was never designed to accommodate competitive group pvp, and that was very obvious toward the end of vanilla. That’s why they didn’t even try to fix, they just got rid of it entirely.

Then you should actually read all of what I wrote.

Blizzard has already made changes to BG’s to account for differences in player behavior since vanilla. This is no different.

And then it becomes literally impossible for to rank outside of premades. It’s already incredibly difficult for a solo player, but if they dedicate enough time they can still rank up. The odds of getting to Rank 14 solo is close to zero, but it’s technically possible.

The “fix” to make the game better for solo queuers would literally destroy their ability to get any rewards, and they’d all be back here complanning about how they want “equal honor” within a week. It would pretty funny imo.

The changes they made were to keep games from starting with lopsided numbers. AV premades bailing left alliance pugs starting matches 15v40. And queue dodging in WSG had the same effect. The changes did nothing to reduce the the advantage premades have.

Actually both changes were made in an attempt to deter premades. And also both were things that were technically working exactly as they did in vanilla yet were changed anyways because of differences in player behavior.

And since changes have already been made to stop premades from pug stomping at this point they might as well just make a rule in the matching engine and be done with it.

Can’t we just have a skirmish mode? I don’t give a f about ranking about or getting shiny pvp loot.
I just want to sit back, listen to music and enjoy classic pvp without having to hop in a discord. If I wanted to do that, I’d play an actual skill based competitive game.

It’s time for Pug V Pug and Premade V Premade Q’s.

Not exactly when you consider most solo q players can rank now with an abysmal 25% or lower win rate. And thats probably including the maybe 3 av games you can fit in a day that will always be a win in between the other matches. If the solo players win rate rises because they are no longer player premade match after match their HPH increases. And if Premades receiver more honor (maybe 20%) than pugs they still get more honor.

But if you were to give extra honor to premades to ensure they stay on top losing in premades will still be better honor/hr than winning in solo, and it’ll be i.possible for the solo player to keep up. Classic is a game that requires you to make friends and build relationships, why should pvp be an exception? Literally all you have to do to vastly increase your win% is make sure you have a healer or 2 to queue with. It’s not hard

Which is the point. But i doubt itd be impossible. If solo q people now can rank with 18% win rates vs premades with 80%+ win rates. I doubt solo queue players wont be able to rank with 50% win rates vs premades with 30% win rates with 20%+ honor increase

There are effective ways to rank solo.is it easy? Hell no, but it is possible to hit rank 14 solo. Buffing premade honor ruins the game for solo rankers. It doesn’t matter how much time they put in or how efficient they are. They will never be able to effectively rank because they have gimped BG honor. Once again this solves nothing, you just pushed your problem off on someone else.

But why do premades need to have better hph?

The people going for the hph meta are toxic anyways and don’t care about BG’s beyond their hph. So why would it matter if they switched to pugging? Wouldn’t that ultimately just be better for people who are premading for fun?

Whose point? I’m sure a lot of people wanted this. But you really should read the description of classic wow from their website if you wanted to know what you were buying. Read carefully.

except one requires you to solve your own problem yourself, and the other is you crying to a non-existent blizzard dev staff to design a new matchmaking system for a 15 year old game that they already explained was AS IS.

if you dont like classic, dont play classic. go solo queue in retail and stop whining.
