End Premades

As much as it sucks, rankers are just playing the game to their best. Good game design is to endorse that.

Because they don’t have to face the ranking premades. Those who choose to queue with friends and guildies are left holding the bag while solo queuers get special treatment. How is that fair to people who can make friends?

No I have instant queues regardless because I chose Alliance. That’s your problem for choosing the overpopulated faction.

Post in trade chat “LF healer AB” and then queue,

Druids could still shapeshift out of CC in TBC.

Yes I expect the queue system to work properly. There’s a reason why virtually every queuing system in pretty much every game doesn’t match pugs with premades blindly.

Well no, it’s completely the fault of the queuing system.

And the reality is you don’t want people to switch to premading more, you want those free wins. That’s the only reason you are opposed to separating the queues or addressing the issue in some way.

The hypocrisy of saying that anyone who pugs is just asking for a free pass while trying to defend a system that is actually giving you free passes is staggerring.

That’s a class ability, completely different. Same way locks can use/make healthstones.

In a modern game you’re right. But this a game from 2006. So you get a 2006 queueing system. That’s what this community asked for. Also there are no ratings, there is no MMR. The only thing to go off of is number of people in a group, and rank. Both of those factors are in no way indicative of the skill of a player, or the quality of a group. So they’re not a fair wait to seperate people. So we get everyone in one pool. If you don’t like it play BFA.

It’s not giving me a free pass. I get 5 capped by the rankers same as you. You want a way to opt out while prevent me from doing the same. I don’t understand how you think that’s fair or right. If I have to face the ranking premades so do you.

Meh, in a skill-based system the pugs would never make it far anyway, they can’t even make a team, let alone a battleground team at Commander level.

Not matching premades with pugs is hardly a new idea, even WC3 didn’t do it. It simply wasn’t as much of a problem in WoW back in vanilla as it is today.

Yes you are getting a free pass every time your premade gets matched up against pugs. And yes you realize pugs lose too when they fight other pugs? Asking for pug vs pug is not asking for a free pass.

You asking to be matched against pugs while premading is asking for free wins.

You realize that my “premades” that sometimes only consist of 5-6 people also lose to pugs. Idk how many times I have to tell you that not all people who group up are in ranking premades. I’m not getting a free pass, and not crying for one like a child either. You have power to make your pvp experience better, but you’d rather complain instead. Classic just isn’t for you

Sorry but pointing out legitimate problems with the matching system is not crying. You are just terrified that your easy wins will go away and you would actually have to work every game(which is what pugs have to do in pug vs pug matches those are not free passes)

Legit problems that existed in 2006, and are therefore part of the “vanilla experience” “spirit of classic” whatever cliche you prefer. If you don’t like it play BFA. This is the game the community asked for. If you can’t make friends classic isn’t for you.

I already do, by spending my time building relationships and making sure I actually have people to play with. literally what this games is about. You choose not to do that, it’s your own fault, not mine.

Except blizzard has already made changes to BG’s already to account for changes in player behavior that wasn’t the same as it was in 2006. Fixing the matching system would easily fall into that category.

No it wouldn’t. We’re all in the same honor pool, therefore were in the same BG queues. This is a failing of the honor system itself, not the matching system.

There’s a dungeon finder in classic too. Nobody uses it because it just puts together a random group of 5 players. No guarantee of a healer or tank. How many posts do you see with people complaining about that “dungeon finder” giving trade chat and guild dungeon groups an “unfair advantage” and demanding a “proper” dungeon finder be added. Not many. We all know the “dungeon finder” is hot garbage so nobody uses it. I’m not even sure it works lol. But why is pvp any different?

Now if you were asking for a role check to be added to ensure all BG groups had minimum 2 healers I’d be totally on board. But the honor system is not built for what you suggest, you’re not solving any problems, just pushing it off on others. Literally all you need to do to win at least a third of your games is make sure you queue with healer or 2, it’s really not that difficult.

The same problem would exist regardless of the honor system, matching premades vs pugs is and always has been silly it doesn’t matter what the honor system is.

Look at the population of my server, you litterally can’t form any form of AB premade, we have like 800people total at lvl 60 (Ironforge stats) and that includes the multiple people with 2 or more characters at 60. If this was before they gave 10000 alliance free transfers into the server, and all the horde transferred out then maybe, but theres nobody in /world /lookingforgroup /tradechat willing to do pvp anymore because our version of pvp is having 400 alliance at the entrance to every raid, World boss, and for sake there was like 100 alliace 60’s killing all the lvl 19 twinks trying to do fishing tournament today

Mod Edit: Removed inappropriate language.

Sorry to hear about what happened to your server and about how it got turned into Heartseeker 2.0. Many of your horde rankers/PVPers came to mine. We Earthfury natives never wanted for our horde population to triple and we had many toxic people come over. It changed our relaxed “Dad Server” into something else.

I played with several of the Incendius transfer PVPers during the last two grind weeks of my grind and they are good people mostly. It’s just too bad they didn’t layer earlier and keep both servers the same as they were.

But that’s what classic pvp is. You’re significantly more successful when you build you own group. And that shouldn’t change for any reason, because that’s what the honor system rewards, and that’s what the classic pvp meta is built around.

Look, I’m sorry.

I understand that the honor system is unfair, ridiculous and often infuriating. But the good premades are still the most deserving to get ahead because they took that bizarre system and bruteforced it into working in their favor.

Bizarre system? its literally just a play more and win more system which is pretty standard honestly.

The only thing bizarre about it is they think premade full groups should play against solo queue groups. Literally any ranking system in any game separates solo/duo (or small teams under a certain % of total team size) vs full groups

Blizzard didn’t develop a way to make sure premades get more honor per hour than pugs without them facing each other. Unless your proposed solution includes a way to guarantee premades stay rewarding and don’t simply end within a week after the changes are implemented (which game theory guarantees will happen if you separate the queues with no other way to differentiate reward) you haven’t thought long enough about it.

You just increase the amount of honor premades get for everything that happens in a bg. Seems like a pretty simple solution.
