End Premades

we had a GM on our server who did nothing but solo que sooooooo

really its just more whiners looking for free epics from blizzard. the same group of people who ruined retail. ya’ll need to find a diff game to ruin.

It is primetime.
I’m fairly certain your ab and wsg queues spike to 30+minutes later in the evening. Probably also higher queues at the end of the week when the Alliance premades are done ranking for the week.

No they are generally pretty consistent, although the Q’s will reach 30 min to 40 min from about 6 AM to 9 AM that’s the highest I’ve seen them. Once it gets closer to primetime they drop down to 10-15 consisently throughout the week.

Best time to actually play as a pug is close to the end of the week since all premades get honor capped by Thursday. There are stragglers that are left close to the end of the week but they tend to be very weak premades that have trouble with pugs.

So when premades immediately give up against another premade after 4 minutes because they havent steam rolled the other team and its not good for HPH then they should receive no rewards is what youre saying?

I would rather wait 2-3x as long as i do for wsg and ab if it meant when i got in i actually had a chance of winning. Realistically thats ALREADY how it is now. There are nights were i queue and face 4-6 premades in a row and THEN get a pug vs pug match. In reality i might as well have been sitting in queue the entire time since i gained virtually 0 honor and rep for all those premade losses since we lost without getting anything (unless you include the single mark that we gain at the end)

Except they rarely play to beat the better team. They play until its statically better hph. Once the enemy premade puts up a fight they quit and let the other team win to hop in the next match and hope its a pug

what?

ill answer this with your own words

You only have yourselves to blame

Better than playing against 5 15 man ab alliance premades and 4 10 man wsg alliance premades. I literally won 1 pug game in ab yesterday

So then care less? I think what you mean is you COULDNT care less

THIS

This was not the norm. I played on 2 low pop servers back in vanilla and premades were NOT a norm. There were SO MANY servers in classic and just because thats what YOU did doesnt mean thats what EVERYONE did.

Because you’re graded on your individual effort within a team game that you’re able to join as a single player.

The theory is that you’re awarded in direct correlation to your contribution to the battle which is being waged by your faction.

What I’m trying to explain is that the ability to queue for a battleground as a solo player is the fundamental thing which made it different from raiding. It drew players to it who either didn’t have or didn’t want to make online social connections, and then turned around and made having or making those social connections mandatory after the advent of the PvP premade.

Which never should’ve happened, because it didn’t best serve the demographic who most enjoyed the game type. Raiding already existed for that.

Precisely – and what it should do is this instead.

Because this system better fulfills the needs of the game, its systems, and its diverse playerbase.

Nah I think you should make some friends or get dumped on. That’s the true classic experince

^^^^^
It’s people like you who we want nothing to do with. That elitist attitude is irritating as F to be around on a regular basis, and I don’t allow it in to my life.

You’re not exactly what I call ‘friend’ material.

Thromkar, that was not aimed at you. The forum goofed on me. I am saying this post to Zydax. The kind of people I want to avoid in this game because I can’t stand that elitist attitude.

Except most alliance premades dont even “dump on” you. They enter the flag room with 5 6 people. pop faps cc people and run away. They dont fight they dont even get hks half the time unless we turtle. Probably goes the same way for horde premades. Its not about pvping or fighting its all about getting gear with the least amount of effort and confrontation as possible.

I find it ironic that your name is socialism given the topic of this thread.

Perhaps.

It isn’t the true vanilla experience though.

Classic, as things are, is a poor representation, and we have the playerbase to thank for that. Blizzard, imo, should take steps to better preserve Vanilla in Classic.

Larger server populations and cross-realm battlegrounds have had far reaching ramifications for the pvp side of the game, and I’m not alone in suggesting there’s an overwhelming lack of authenticity in the resulting gameplay.

Any step towards restoring authenticity in Classic battlegrounds would be welcome in this player’s opinion; because it would serve to give a more accurate representation of the game it proposes to recreate.

honestly I only pvp when I feel like it’ll be fun, probably best to just find a group of cool people to “premade” with just so that when you get into the BG there isn’t people trying to rip each other’s throats, like you win cool, you won that was fun, you lose? Still fun! As long as people are still chill, for me, the rewards don’t from faction rep or rank rewards do not interest me.

the funny thing is I’m not a ranker. I gave up on ranking at rank 8 months ago. I only pvp with guildies for fun now, and I never solo queue because its a waste of my time. I just see classic pvp for what it really is, a grind that takes no skill. Its not fun, its not engaging, and nothing short of scrapping honor altogether can fix it.

Separating out solo queuers fixes your problem, but ruins pvp for many others. Imo its selfish antisocial players such as you who really ruin the game.

CRBG’s happened in vanilla. this isn’t 1.5. If you want that experience go play pirate servers

Finally you understand classic pvp.

Then you should have no problem with matching premades vs premades. As you said the honor grind is purely a matter of grinding not skill. The people who only care about hph would still be able to do so, but everyone who just cares about pvp for fun instead of only people who premade.

The only fix I think that would be worthwhile implementing with regards to PVP is harsh penalties for garbage players throwing games on purpose, not contributing, and encouraging their teams to lose.

the reason i have a problem with it is because it doesn’t fix the problem. it just moves it. yeah it’ll make games more fun for solo queuers, but it’ll ruin the game for people who like to play with a group of 6-7 friends.

Classic pvp is a broken unbalanced mess that in no way rewards skill. It was in 2005, and it is now. Accept it and move on. If you want competitive pvp play BFA or wait for TBC

hmm…

How’s that?

Because they’ll actually have to play teams who don’t give up before the gate opens?

I’m sorry.

How do we define skill? I mean, to an extent, I think WoW PVP has always given some reward to time spent, but also some to skill…

You can’t win consistently against equally skilled players with better gear (from more time spent), but you can win against lesser skills but better geared people.

There’s also a social aspect to things. A bit of an analogy, if we can humor it, but I think it’s somewhat apt… “Friends” was a pretty successful franchise, though none of the actors were particularly spectacular as individuals. WoW PVP has always favored groups over individuals.

Group synergy is not to be underestimated, and a charismatic leader, whichever role can make a pretty large difference.

I’m not claiming to be in the highest skill levels of PVP, but I do have a friend who is 2900+ xp, and have queued twos with him, the moment he dinged max level, in greens, and was pretty easily able to reach 1900+, easier with him than with well-geared lesser skilled players from random LFG invites.

That is of course anecdotal, but it gave me some perspective on skill vs gear.

You’ll never know because you cant find anyone to play with you.
