End Premades

And?

I’m sorry.

I don’t see the issue.

Well that depends, premades are just as likely to roll over and give up at the first sign of a long game as pugs are.

When nodes are giving you 0 points, it makes the game last longer? What don’t you understand? Other than the basic mechanics of AB?

Why does the game lasting longer have any bearing on the conversation we’re having?

I said this…and you responded with this:

Right…

And as far as I’m concerned, that statement adequately refuted your point.

And then I responded with:

… And this is where you completely lost the train of conversation apparently

Okay. In some situations that might be true? but there’s probably an equal chance that the pug game played out similarly.

Suffice to say I disagree that premade verses premade games last longer.

The battleground design doesn’t change because you queued with more players, resulting in a longer match.

Well I play both PUG and premade, and I can assure you that my matches against other well geared premades take MUCH longer than pug vs pug matches.

No they don’t.

They take longer than Pre versus Pug matches, because those are generally over in a matter of a few minutes. If this is what you’re used to then I understand your confusion.

Pug v pug matches generally take a similar amount of time to pre v pre.

Have you ever even been in a premade vs premade match? I would imagine not if you are willing to get on the forums and be so anti-premade.

I have!

And they’re a lot more engaging and fun than matches in which we were up against pugs.

Yall just want your welfare gear for beating inept teams with coordinated ones instead of having a legitimately competitive experience in battlegrounds.

there idn’t any way around that at this point in our conversation.

If you play as alliance, you’ll get faster queues buddy.

So you agree that premades shouldn’t be seperated from pugs? Because that’s vanilla gameplay js. I agree consumables are dumb. But that’s not the point of this thread. I’m saying you can’t sperate pugs and premades because we all fight for the same honor. If people want to opt of fighting premades fine, but that doesn’t belong in the honor system, so they should get no rewards of any kind.

But the honor system doesn’t reward skill, it rewards farming other players like NPC’s for hours a day for multiple months. If you want competitive pvp wait for TBC.

I mean I could honestly care less. Occasionally the games are fun, but for the most part every game is the same boring crap regardless of who I am playing with or against. I AM only doing PVP for gear. If you claim that you are only in it for the “competitive experience” then I guess you would be ok with not receiving any honor for you matches? Add a solo Q only bracket that gives 0 honor. I am ok with that!!

I wonder if people realize that you CAN be casual and still do premades. All you have to do is join the premade channel on discord for your server and type LFG. You don’t even have to play all day. There are plenty of instances where I join premade group for only a couple of matches and then log off or go raid.

No, I’m saying premades should face each other, and pugs should face each other, because the gameplay we remember is best preserved when the odds are fair.

By gameplay, I mean, combat. The experience of playing the game.

Vanilla gameplay is a lot of things. In Battlegrounds, it wasn’t getting 5 capped or 3 capped without having a say in the matter.

If the systems are creating that kind of degenerative gameplay meta, and the diverse experiences which took place in these spaces are no longer occurring, then preserving the systems does nothing to preserve the game.

Because being host to fair matches means you’re less likely to make rank 14, and so we should throw Vanilla under the bus so you can accomplish your goal?

No!

Heck no.

And yet, this is a meta which has developed in classic, as a direct result of the player knowledge gap. People didn’t rank like this in vanilla, and the contest was fair.

I don’t like to premade because the contest isn’t fair.

The gameplay sucks. The other team just buckles, and you’re too busy feeling sorry for them to legitimately enjoy your time playing the game. It makes me feel guilty. It’s a very yucky feeling.

Alternatively, we could change the queue system in classic to pit premades against each other, and leave pugs to face pugs.

As a consolation prize, since you’re insistence on reward is so strong you’re willing to break the game over it, increase honor by rank.

Increase player honor value by rank so that killing high rank players = more honor than killing low rank players.

Are we happy?
