Well yeah it wouldn’t make much sense to tie High Elves to Quel’thalas since they’re been away and allied to the alliance for so long.
Just seemed like by now the Blood Elves would have cleaned up the scourge remnants and taken to rebuilding, so maybe having it all healthy and vibrant would make more sense. I just kinda liked the idea of that old Scourge outpost being used in that manner as it’s also close to the borders/gate and the Elves went to Northrend and became San’layn in defense of their home.
Eastern Kingdoms could work as well, find some neat place to build…also two ruined cities they could take over and rebuild. Stratholme and that Scarlet Crusade town the Death Knights invade.
While I’m not sure bout all of them being exiled, I agree. This disparity between the two groups is very interesting and can make for good stories without stepping on each other’s toes.
If blizzard will let it.
Yeah a classic boy named Thane seems to believe this.
i think he’s trying to ironically prove that if high elves have all been assimilated then how are there high elves in quel’thalas. its that ion meant specifically alliance high elves, which is odd since the silver covenant are still mostly high elves. i think they should be depicted as mostly half elves so ingame actually depicts what ion says.
These new customization (For all the races) are to help facilitate players who wish to reflect visual themes found with other members of their race who come from different walks of life, be that mean they hail from different clans, made different choices, or were just born in a different region. Blue eyes for Blood elves is no different than the Wildhammer tattoos for dwarves. It’s also why they’re doing away with race-locked starter zones and allowing players to start off in a zone free of restrictive lore.
The idea that these blue eyes aren’t for players is pretty far-fetched. They are most certainly not DK eyes as no other race has been given any variation in DK eyes with their mined customizations, the glow effect for eyes are typically attached to the eye model as can be found with a few undead NPCS found in the game. Plus there’s like 8 different versions of blue eyes, and I doubt they need that many just for NPCs.
This in addition to the dev response to the customization where they rationalized it by saying they wanted players to have more freedom in who their characters are, even if it means they’re from a different clan (like the wildhammer) leads to me to believe that many of these customization options were to reflect different groups within the same race if a player wants to.
It’s not “Everything has changed” but merely they’re trying to reflect all the possibilities for players. Any player agency is good, and I’m glad they’re putting in the effort to help players feel that their characters are unique, and can have more say in which choices make up their history and background.
Belves (when they were Helves even) did the exact same lmao. In fact Anasterian outlawed helping the Alliance with only a few disobeying that.
Heck in fact why would the new alliance (formed after the other fell) even help Elves who were on the other side of the continent, and reaching them meant going through horde lands and that had abandoned the Alliance before?
First, this is your first time here and you picked a post about high elves? Very suspect.
Second, As much this fuels my excitement for more customization options in Shadowlands, lets not pretend that Datamined stuff automatically means it’s actually going to happen. We still don’t know if it’s actually confirmed or not until Blizzard says it is. I think we would be all better for it if we wait until we hear them officially confirm it happening. For all we know, it could just be Datamine bait to prevent the real surprise from being spoiled. Plus this is still Alpha were talking about where it’s very heavily subject to change.
The high elves in outland weren’t technically exiled but we must also keep in mind they were presumed dead.
Most high elves in the alliance today were those that chose to remain with the alliance following the second war and were exiled because they chose to do so.
